Chapter 46 Dancing.

The white silk dress radiated a flowing light, and the swirling breeze caused petals to fall down the corridor, creating a harmonious and unique artistic effect with the serene and elegant dance.

The small living room instantly transformed into a tranquil stage, with only Lei Ting as the audience, quietly appreciating this masterpiece.

As the lively music came to an end, Anning stopped dancing. Leiting stepped forward, and Anning gently bowed, lifting her skirt to take her bow. Leiting then took her hand. Anning looked up to meet Leiting's focused gaze, her left hand lightly touching his right shoulder, her right hand interlocking her fingers. To the next light and melodious tune, they began to dance a ballroom dance, perfectly in sync. Anning would sometimes lift her skirt and twirl around, sometimes gently swaying against Leiting's shoulder. Leiting had longed for this romantic and peaceful moment for a long time.

Even after the gramophone stopped playing, the two remained lost in their dance. Lei Ting gently cradled the swaying An Ning, swaying with her movements.

Anning rested her head on Leiting's chest, and the restless little deer in Leiting's heart seemed to be drumming for them, making Anning unable to stop dancing.

Rain began to fall outside, the patter of the rain pulling the two, immersed in their blissful moment, back to reality. Anning slightly opened her doe-like eyes, her eyelashes still heavy with sleep, unwilling to break the tranquility. Leiting, still lost in reverie, had his arms wrapped around her waist. It wasn't until Anning shyly pushed him away that Leiting snapped out of his reverie, turning to look at Anning with surprise at her entwined arms. A new feeling stirred within them, a feeling of intoxication, an irresistible pull.

Anning: "Thunder, it's raining outside."

Thunder: "That was amazing! Our dance could win an award."

An Ning: "It's not that exaggerated, but I didn't expect us to be so in sync."

Lei Ting held An Ning in his arms, and An Ning didn't let go, clinging to his chest. Lei Ting was a head taller than An Ning, and he gently rubbed his chin against the top of An Ning's head. An Ning felt increasingly flustered, pushed Lei Ting away, capped the two bottles of wine, and tidied up.

Thunder: "I'll clean up, you sit down for a bit..."

An Ning: "Lei Ting, these two bottles of wine are very precious. If we drink them, Liao Qian won't be angry, will he?"

Thunder: "He got angry over a bottle of wine? My family saved his life. He's grateful to us. No way."

Anning: "Tell me how you saved his life."

Anning blinked her big eyes and asked Leiting with great curiosity, a look that Leiting really liked.

Thunder: "Curious baby, kiss me and I'll tell you."

An Ning: "Hmph, I'm not listening anymore, I hate it..."

Anning turned around, pouted, and pretended to be angry. She used her power to her advantage very well, and Leiting was very pleased.

Thunder: "Haha, that little pout is so cute... Okay, okay, come sit here, I'll tell you slowly..."

An Ning: "Hehe..."

Lei Ting sat on the floor. An Ning was now naturally willing to be close to Lei Ting. She elegantly held a wine glass and sat next to him, tilting her head and resting her childish face in her palm, gazing at Lei Ting, who was lost in thought. Lei Ting picked up a glass of wine, and the two clinked glasses. Following the aroma of grapes, Lei Ting began to speak. Facing An Ning, who was staring at him with wide, curious eyes, Lei Ting revealed his past with Liao Qian.

Lei Ting: "I remember when I was in elementary school, Liao Qian's house wasn't far from mine, and we would sometimes go to school together. His family used to be just average, a working-class family. Now they're in the import and export business. My family's export business also made Liao's family a lot of money. When we were little, Liao Qian was always sick and would often skip class. I went home and told my grandma that Liao Qian in our class was a sickly child. My grandma told me not to talk nonsense. Not long after, the teacher said that Liao Qian was going to die and planned to organize us to visit his family. Before we even got there, Liao Qian's mother was holding Liao Qian and kneeling in my house. When I got home, I found out that my grandma had adopted Liao Qian as her grandson and apprentice. Later, Liao Qian's illness was indeed cured. After he recovered, he stayed at our house every day, just like my grandma's own grandson. We grew up together, went to school together, and then came here to study together. Later, we went back home, but he didn't. He made a fortune here using the skills my grandma taught him."

An Ning: "Is that so! No wonder Liao Qian listens to you so much. He even let you live in their house. So you two are half-brothers!"

Lei Ting: "Yeah, I've never asked him for anything all these years. I know you live here, and Liao Qian lives here too, but he didn't tell me. I even wanted to cut ties with him, but I couldn't bear to look at his face. I couldn't bring myself to say a harsh word to him."

An Ning: "If Liao Qian were a woman, I probably wouldn't have anything to do with this. You two would have gotten married long ago!"

Thunder: "If he were a woman, he'd have to be incredibly ugly! I wouldn't be interested..."

An Ning: "Haha, it's wrong of you to judge a book by its cover..."

Lei Ting: "Liao Qian is a few months older than me. I call him brother. He takes special care of me. Now, even if I ask him to buy me a new house, he will."

An Ning: "No need, this is already very good. Don't be so greedy. Liao Qian has it tough too."

Thunder: "Hehe, you're still as virtuous as ever."

An Ning: "Was I virtuous before?"

Thunder: "Of course there is no one more virtuous than you, Anning. I regret it so much, I feel remorse every day."

Anning: "What if I'm not a good wife and mother after I remarry you...?"

Thunder: "I love you no matter what you're like. I'd even be willing to marry into your family now."

An Ning: "Marrying into my wife's family? Hahaha, you really dare to dream of that! My family definitely wouldn't agree! Haha..."

Thunder: "Hehe, I love seeing you smile. Your dimples are so cute. And your eyes, they shine like stars when you smile."
