Chapter 48 I Don't Want You to Leave

Lei Ting finally got his wish and gave An Ning a goodnight kiss, feeling much better. Just as he was about to go back to his room to sleep, An Ning grabbed his arm with some force. Lei Ting turned around and looked at An Ning, who was sitting on the bed with her head down, and asked her what was wrong.

Thunder: "What's wrong..."

Anning: "I'm scared, I'm scared when I watch horror movies."

Thunder: "You want me to stay with you..."

An Ning: "Hmm..."

Thunder: "Okay..."

Lei Ting put down the milk glass. An Ning pursed her lips and then lay down in bed, waiting for Lei Ting to lie down beside her. Lei Ting then took out another ice-silk quilt from the closet. There were flower petals underfoot and a Persian wool rug underneath, so it wasn't cold to sleep on. Lei Ting lay down directly on the floor. An Ning turned to look at Lei Ting lying on the floor; his eyes were already closed. She felt a little disappointed.

Lei Ting's gentlemanly behavior was completely unexpected by An Ning. She had assumed Lei Ting was two-faced, but it turned out that delivering milk was simply delivering milk; he had no intention of molesting her at all. Her expectations were dashed, and she didn't know whether to be happy or sad. An Ning softly called Lei Ting's name, and Lei Ting looked at her from the ground. An Ning thought, "I'll just give him a few hints; a few hints will definitely work."

An Ning: "Thunder..."

Thunder: "What's wrong... still can't sleep?"

Anning: "Hmm... Tell me about the two of us! About us in the past."

Lei Ting: "Our relationship used to be very ordinary, and our lives were ordinary too. We never argued, and we never had such intense emotional fluctuations as we do now. I would go to work during the day, and you would wait for me to come home. Sometimes when I worked overtime, you would bring me food to the company. You can understand the life of a man working the fields and a woman weaving."

Anning: "What is that...that...that kind of married life like?"

Lei Ting: "Our sex life... well, it's pretty standard! Like completing a task... You're rather shy, and I don't have high expectations. You don't have much of an appetite, so sometimes we just naturally make love after taking a shower."

An Ning: "Um... how's your physical condition?"

Thunder: "Great! I've rarely been sick since I was a child. Look at my hair, it's jet black and shiny, you can tell I'm healthy. I'm also tall and don't get angry easily."

An Ning: "Ah! Then...then..."

Thunder: "What's wrong... what else do you want to know? You curious little thing."

An Ning: "No... I don't want to know anymore... I'm going to sleep..."

Thunder: "Good night."

Lei Ting didn't understand An Ning's hint at all. Lei Ting was on the ground, fiddling with a few cool petals. When An Ning said to go to sleep, Lei Ting took the opportunity to close his eyes. It was still raining outside, and the dripping sound made An Ning particularly annoyed. An Ning touched her face and felt that it could cook an egg.

Anning stared at Leiting on the ground, who seemed to be asleep. In the dim light of the room, Anning carefully examined Leiting's appearance. He had regular features, fair skin, and was the kind of handsome boy who looked striking at first glance. His eyelashes were long, and what was most captivating was Leiting's jawline; whether he was speaking or sitting quietly like this, he always exuded a heroic and charming aura. Leiting pursed his lips and moved slightly. The silk blankets, warm to the touch, drew Anning in.

Anning was mesmerized. The more she looked, the more awake she became. Leiting seemed to be asleep, almost asleep, peacefully drifting off, completely unaware that Anning's feet were rubbing against a few flower petals on the bed. How Anning longed for Leiting to get up, and for them to do what she imagined as a married couple.

Lei Ting seemed to have really fallen asleep, his breathing becoming more and more even. An Ning went to the bathroom, but she still couldn't calm down. Perhaps An Ning used to really look forward to intimacy with Lei Ting. In the past, An Ning would be shy during sex with Lei Ting, but she would gradually become more cooperative. However, back then, Lei Ting felt that these things weren't very meaningful and he hadn't really enjoyed them. An Ning often felt unsatisfied but was too embarrassed to say it. Now Lei Ting was in her room, and the whole room was filled with the sandalwood scent emanating from him. An Ning smelled the scent to calm her mind, but not her body.

An Ning looked at the ring on her hand, then at the ring on Lei Ting's hand. As if making a decision, she gently threw back the covers, got out of bed, and lay down next to Lei Ting, snuggling closer to him. Lei Ting noticed someone beside him, opened his eyes, and saw it was An Ning, staring at him with her dark, bright eyes.

Lei Ting: "An Ning, the ground is cold. Let me carry you to bed."

An Ning: "No...it's right here..."

Thunder: "You'll feel uncomfortable if the cold gets into your body. Be good."

Anning: "Aren't you a little stove! You warm me..."

Anning moved closer, and Lei Ting, without saying a word, covered her with the blanket and pulled her into his arms. Lei Ting's blanket was indeed very warm, and Anning burrowed in and out, only her head peeking out. Anning snuggled closer to Lei Ting, who, thinking it was a test, swallowed hard.

Thunder: "It's hard for me to resist when you tease me like this."

Anning: "I can understand. After all, we're at the perfect age to enjoy love."

Thunder: "I've never really enjoyed things with you before. Everything was just normal and boring. In the six months after you left, my dreams were filled with our tender moments."

Anning: "What am I like in your dreams?"

Lei Ting: "Just like before, you are gentle, generous, positive and optimistic. You have all the virtues of a woman."

Anning: "Ugh, I might not be as gentle as I used to be. When running a bakery, I need to be flexible and accommodating. Being too gentle won't help me manage my employees."

Thunder: "Honey, can you tell me about your experiences over the past six months?"

An Ning: "Hmm..."

Lei Ting held An Ning in his arms, and An Ning snuggled against him before telling Lei Ting about what had happened to her over the past six months.
