No longer caring about any rumors, Lei Ting and An Ning walked hand in hand on the green lawn of New York University, their faces beaming with happiness. They passed by every classmate; those who knew Lei Ting's prowess deliberately avoided their gaze. An Ning raised her glass and casually reminisced with former classmates; outsiders offered only superficial blessings, and An Ning could see through their pretense. Lei Ting, meanwhile, socialized nearby, his hands roaming freely around An Ning's waist, constantly asserting his dominance.
Liao Qian and Allen returned, drenched in sweat. Each of them picked up a glass of wine. Liao Qian stood leaning against Allen. Lei Ting, who had just discovered their flirtatious behavior, couldn't help but tease him. Lei Ting looked at Liao Qian with a mischievous smile and deliberately used a dialect that Allen couldn't understand.
Thunder: "I'll soothe your fatigue."
Liao Qian: "You..."
Liao Qian nearly spat out the wine in his mouth, staring wide-eyed at Lei Ting. It was a mix of warning and pleading.
Liao Qian: "You...you're not allowed to say that. How did you know?"
Thunder: "I went to the bathroom too, but your passion made me hold it back."
Liao Qian: "You...you deserve to suffocate..."
Allen: "What are you talking about?"
Thunder: "Let's talk about something unspeakable~"
Liao Qian: "Thunder..."
Thunder: "Haha, come with me."
After the jokes were over, Lei Ting pulled Liao Qian aside. Allen looked at the two of them awkwardly. Lei Ting then looked at Allen and seriously began wiping the sweat from Liao Qian's brow. He said as he wiped.
Thunder: "Aren't you going to give him an identity?"
Liao Qian: "I...I...I dare not..."
Thunder: "You still talk about the courage we gave you, but you didn't use any of our courage and instead backed down."
Liao Qian: "If at home..."
Thunder: "When you were almost dying from your illness, what did your family do? They took you everywhere to seek medical treatment. If you are still living such a timid and cowardly life, you will not only be letting down your family, but also yourself, and even more so, Allen."
Liao Qian turned and met Allen's gaze. Allen was jealous of his closeness with Lei Ting, and a strange emotion welled up inside him. Lei Ting took the tissue. Liao Qian looked at Lei Ting and said...
Liao Qian: "I know what to do."
Liao Qian ran over to Allen's side after saying just one sentence. Lei Ting took a sip of his drink, while An Ning chatted elegantly with her classmates. Lei Ting smiled at her. Jenny walked over, carrying some snacks specially made for An Ning.
Jenny: "Thunder, you look so cool! Your kung fu just now was amazing, I was stunned."
Thunder: "Haha, your overalls make you look so cute."
Jenny: "Don't judge my clothes. Quickly call Anning over and have some snacks."
Thunder: "Okay..."
Lei Ting greeted his classmates, then naturally put his arm around An Ning's waist and brought her over. The three of them sat together. Jenny's specially made snacks included pistachios, which crunched in their mouths, bringing happiness.
Jenny: "Oh, Anning, I've never seen you so happy. You look so radiant..."
Anning: "Hehe, when you meet your girl, you'll be just as happy."
Jenny: "No... The Thunder hurt me too much. I need some time to calm down."
Thunder: "What the hell is going on?!"
An Ning: "Hahaha...hahaha..."
Thunder: "You laughed, haha, I want you to laugh."
Lei Ting gently stroked An Ning's hair, and Jenny joined in their joy. Liao Qian, standing to the side, held Allen's hand tightly. Allen looked around, and Liao Qian tightened her grip, which put Allen at ease. The two intertwined their fingers.
The school board member gave a speech on stage, praising the school's anniversary celebration as a great success. After speaking, he stepped down, and dry ice was poured into the dance floor, creating a misty, ethereal scene that made it seem like a fairyland. Light, cheerful music drifted in from overhead. The audience was amazed by the unique stage. Several dance stars, arm in arm with their partners, swayed gracefully in the middle of the dance floor. Gradually, more and more couples joined in, entering the dance floor with their movements, and the crowd grew larger. Anning and Leiting sat below the stage, quietly enjoying the spectacle.
Liao Qian: "Your works always surprise people."
Allen: "It was you and the Thunder who inspired me."
Jenny: "Awesome! I'm going to do the pinafore dance in the fog..."
Anning: "Thunder, do you want to dance?"
Thunder: "Do you want to?"
Anning: "I want to quietly enjoy and listen to the music... la la... la la la..."
An Ning hummed a tune, her hands simply mimicking the rise and fall of the melody, her natural and carefree demeanor exactly what Lei Ting wanted to see. Lei Ting stood cautiously behind An Ning, always ready to assist her if she turned around.
Almost two hours into the school anniversary celebration, the stage performances were still going on, and Juliet was getting impatient. She sat on her chair, too afraid to move, because there were mosquitoes and she couldn't move, and her legs were itching unbearably.
Julie: "Why isn't it starting yet? Why isn't it starting yet?!"
Julie was waiting anxiously, and Yaheng was equally nervous. Yaheng repeatedly watched the details of the veil being lifted on his phone, glancing towards the stage every now and then. He had no idea what would happen next.
On stage, the school had hired a very famous band to headline the event. Everyone's emotions were ignited by the upbeat music, and An Ning was no exception. Standing in the audience, she shouted out a few lyrics. An Ning's radiant smile made Lei Ting smile involuntarily. Lei Ting was standing behind her, and when An Ning turned around, Lei Ting was still smiling at her. An Ning playfully flashed her white teeth at Lei Ting, and Lei Ting returned her a wide grin. In this lively atmosphere, the two communicated their feelings in their own unique way.
