Allen hugged Guli and cried for a while. Allen was willing to try to reconcile with his family. Liao Qian woke up from anesthesia, and after the nurse changed his dressing, Liao Qian was able to open his eyes and see people. Guli checked his eyelids; the postoperative recovery was going very well. Several people gathered around, and Liao Qian was so happy to see that they were all there, not one missing.
Liao Qian: "It's so good that you're all here. It's so good to see you when I woke up."
Thunder: "We've never left you for a moment."
An Ning: "Liao Qian, drink some sugar water to replenish your energy. Once you're better, I'll take you out for a big meal."
Allen: "Come to my house for a big meal. I'll cook for you myself. Brother, you should come too."
Gu Li: "I'm very busy with work, I'll go when I have time! Liao Qian, after you drink some sugar water, you need to do some exercises to promote gas expulsion. I have patients to attend to, so please excuse me."
Liao Qian: "Wait, Gu Li, how much blood did you draw from me?"
Gu Li: "No, you are very strong and don't need me."
Liao Qian: "That's good. Thank you."
Gu Li: "Um. Excuse me."
Gu Li tossed aside his white coat and left. Liao Qian breathed a sigh of relief, grabbed Allen's hand, and Allen patted him. Everyone surrounded Liao Qian, making him dizzy.
Liao Qian: "Thunder, slow down, your movements are so strong, it's like the wind is howling."
Lei Ting: "I was just worried you'd be uncomfortable, so I adjusted your bed for you!"
Liao Qian: "It's fine as long as it's not intentional revenge against me."
Lei Ting: "You've been ungrateful for my kindness. When you were having surgery, I sent people to find a few people with rare blood types in Fengtian and New Zealand. You can rest assured from now on."
Liao Qian: "Yes, good brother."
Allen: "Thunder, thank you. I'll cook for you and Anning myself."
Thunder: "You're such a good cook! You're amazing. I can't cook at all."
Allen: "I specially learned to cook the national dishes for Liao Qian: braised pork, lion's head meatballs, and sliced beef and tripe in chili sauce. I'm particularly good at all of them."
An Ning: "Wow, that's great! I can learn from you now."
Liao Qian: "Cough cough, once you learn a skill, Lei Ting will lock you at home every day and make you cook for him."
Thunder: "How could that be! Look at what you're saying, your Allen cares about you, but I don't care about my Anning!"
Liao Qian: "Haha, hahaha..."
Everything in the ward seemed so harmonious; even though Liao Qian was no longer perfect, it did not affect Allen's love for him in the slightest.
Liao Qian: "Did Gu Li say anything to you when I was still under anesthesia?"
Allen: "My brother wants me to go home. Liao Qian, would you like to come to Rabbit Heart Castle with me?"
Liao Qian: "Besides this? What else? He didn't say anything, did he?"
Allen: "My brother said he would keep you in his heart, and we will keep each other's past in our hearts."
Liao Qian breathed a sigh of relief; this couldn't be better.
Liao Qian: "You two brothers are the same in everything except for your jobs. Let's go back to Rabbit Heart Castle before we go back to China!"
Allen: "Okay, sure."
Thunder: "Don't worry about anything else for now, taking care of yourself is the most important thing. Here, let me feed you this sugar water. You haven't passed gas yet, so you should turn over and pass gas in a bit."
Liao Qian: "Hmm... Allen, have some of the soup An Ning brought! Try her cooking."
Allen: "Okay."
Liao Qian leaned against Allen, Lei Ting fed him sugar water, and An Ning wiped his mouth. Liao Qian felt extremely happy at that moment. Only after seeing that Liao Qian was alright did Allen take a sip of soup and finish a whole bowl of soup.
Liao Qian: "Drink more, you've lost so much weight these past few days..."
Allen: "When you get better, I'll make you some soup, your favorite pork rib soup."
Liao Qian: "Okay. Lei Ting and An Ning, you can go back now. I'm fine. Come see me again tonight."
Lei Ting: "Alright, you look fine now. I'll go back and brew some medicine for An Ning."
Liao Qian: "Okay, slow down."
It was already noon, and Lei Ting was feeling a bit hungry. Liao Qian was free, so Lei Ting took An Ning's arm and got into the car. The two drove home, where Lei Ting had arranged for someone to prepare lunch and steak for them to have a candlelight lunch together.
Lei Ting: "Fortunately, Gu Li didn't cause too much trouble, otherwise Liao Qian would have been in a lot of trouble."
An Ning: "I've heard of him. He was able to perform surgeries on his own at a very young age and was even known as a surgical magician. I just never imagined that his wife would be a victim of his love life."
Lei Ting: "That was true before, but not necessarily now. When we went out, I glanced back at Gu Li, and there was a hint of guilt in his eyes as he looked at his phone. Only a man can understand that kind of guilt."
Anning: "Thunder, when I had my miscarriage... you felt this same guilt, didn't you..."
Thunder: "I... Anning... I..."
An Ning: "I was just mentioning it. Just now at the hospital, I suddenly felt a sense of panic. The panic made me lose my balance and I almost fell."
Thunder: "The biggest pain of my life is that day I left you in the hospital... I... I'm sorry..."
An Ning didn't speak, letting Lei Ting hold her in his arms. The deep sorrow in her heart seemed to be about to burst forth, yet it had taken firm root in her heart, unshakable. Lei Ting held An Ning tightly, as if afraid that she would disappear in the next second. An Ning could feel his panic as well.
Anning: "I don't want to remember it. That pain seems to have taken root in my heart, and it seems to be struggling desperately in my heart."
Thunder: "Anning, vent your pain, I'll let you hit or scold me as you please."
Anning: "I think we should stay happy like this forever, okay?"
Thunder: "Okay..."
Anning closed her eyes and sighed. Lei Ting held her, and she cherished this embrace. When they returned home, the dining table was filled with delicious dishes, all of which Anning used to love. Anning loved the quail eggs in the braised pork with rock sugar, loved drinking chrysanthemum shark fin soup, and loved elegantly eating crab claws dipped in plum vinegar. These dishes filled the entire dining table.
