As dawn broke, Ning Lang woke up in her warm bed.
She stretched groggily—but then froze!
Huh? Why is she still wearing fleece-lined jeans?
The next moment, scenes from last night flashed through her mind, and she chuckled softly.
Last night, when he took her home, the snow outside suddenly started falling heavily, swirling and fluttering down.
The snow was heavy and the roads were slippery, and it was late at night, so he had no choice but to stay.
She prepared two bowls of hot, comforting soup, and each of them drank one while admiring the snow scene outside the window and chatting casually.
Then...then she somehow fell asleep, and woke up now.
She was indeed a bit tired these past few days. Through her loose sweater, she gently stroked her slightly protruding belly, her eyes glazed over as she drifted off into a daze.
Just then, Ah-Lu's excited shouts came from downstairs: "Ah-Xuan! Ah-Xuan! Come and scoop the poop!"
She chuckled, got out of bed cheerfully, quickly folded the blankets, washed up, changed into her pajamas, and went downstairs with light steps.
On the living room sofa, Sheng Xuan had several cushions piled on top of him, and he was holding two large pillows over his head, sleeping soundly while avoiding A Lü's "bombardment".
Ah-Lu continued excitedly, "Ah-Xuan! I love you! Come on! Come play with me!"
Ning Lang went to the open kitchen and started cooking millet porridge.
A dozen minutes later, Sheng Xuan got annoyed by A Lü's noise and threw a large cushion at it.
Ah-Lu huffed, "Violent thugs! I hate them! I hate Ah-Xuan!"
Sheng Xuan frowned and sat up, scratching his dark hair.
Ning Lang was baking bread and said gently, "There are disposable toiletries in the bathroom cabinet. Push it to the left for hot water."
Sheng Xuan yawned and nodded, picked up the cushion from the floor, and then walked towards the bathroom.
Green flew out of the pet greenhouse and landed on his shoulder.
"Ah-Xuan, I'll stay with you!"
Sheng Xuan let it follow him, brushing his teeth while listening to A-Lu's chattering.
"Do you love me? Do you love me? Don't you love me? Don't you love me?"
A moment later, he strode out.
Ah-Lu tilted her head, earnestly repeating, "Do you love me? Don't you love me?"
Sheng Xuan filled a glass with warm water from the water dispenser, frowned, and asked, "Who taught you these two nonsensical phrases?"
Ah-Lu thought for a moment, but couldn't answer.
Its short-term memory often fails; whatever it hears most often in the last two days, it repeats the most.
Ning Lang, who was cutting cream cubes, looked up and answered for it: "It should be Aheng."
Sheng Xuan smiled wickedly and said, "It seems that guy has gone mad! Ah Lu, he has already broken through the huge gap between race and gender and is so moved by you, just say yes."
Ah-Lu couldn't understand, and muttered, "Ah-Xuan! I love you! I love you!"
“But I don’t love you.” Sheng Xuan shook her head seriously: “No matter how deep one-sided the affection is, there will be no happiness. We will not have a future. Yuan Heng is deeply in love with you. He loves you. Go love him.”
Ah-Lu nodded and echoed, "I love Ah-Heng! I love Ah-Heng!"
Sheng Xuan smiled and said, "Very good! I wish you happiness and a happy marriage, and may you have many children soon."
Ning Lang, who had just finished her work, chuckled helplessly, "Alright, stop teasing it. The snow outside has stopped; go shovel it."
Sheng Xuan was used to getting up in the morning to exercise. Shoveling snow was strenuous work, but he didn't refuse and went out carrying a shovel.
Unable to go outside, Ah-Lu could only peek out the window, muttering, "Ah-Xuan, do I love you? I love you!"
Ning Lang smelled the aroma of freshly baked bread, listened to A-Lu's "confession," and watched someone's busy, tall figure outside the window. Her heart warmed, and she smiled, her eyes crinkling.
This moment is wonderful.
...
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang, followed by a loud knocking!
