Chapter 169 The Lingering Ghost

The sun was high in the sky, and the warm sunshine shone on the earth, driving away the chill of the previous days and drying and warming every corner that had been soaked by ice and snow.

Mountain top, golf course

A man dressed in casual white clothes strolled off the sightseeing bus, put on a baseball cap, leaving only his handsome chin and a section of fair and firm cheek exposed.

He slowly put on his snow-white gloves, took the golf club from the back of the car, practiced his stance a few times, and then hit the ball.

After a while, he leaned on his golf club, basking in the sun lazily, and closed his eyes comfortably.

Suddenly, a muffled thud rang out!

"Ouch!" A cry of pain followed immediately!

The man, clutching his back, scrambled to his feet from the grass, baring his teeth and looking around before shouting, "Who's blind enough to throw the ball like that?! An insult to golf and an insult to people!"

Suddenly, the man noticed someone approaching and turned around—he saw a tall, handsome man walking towards him on the grass, carrying a golf club on his shoulder. He exuded an imposing and arrogant aura, and his large, bright eyes were half-closed, staring at him like a hawk.

Yuan Heng rolled his eyes and sneered, "If you can't play golf, why are you trying to pick up a club! Are you nearsighted and have weak eyesight? This golf course is over 200 acres, and you just had to dump it on me!"

Sheng Xuan raised his chin slightly and said in a deep voice, "Who said I was going to play ball? I'm going to play against you."

"Yo!" Yuan Heng was furious and ripped off his snow-white baseball cap. "Sheng Xuan! Do you think this is Rongcheng?! Even in Rongcheng, you can't do whatever you want!"

Sheng Xuan lazily put down his golf club and said in a low voice, "I can do whatever I want anytime, anywhere, whenever I want."

"Arrogance won't put food on the table!" Yuan Heng raised his androgynous face and said in a gruff voice, "I already told you, I have no idea where A-Lang went. Why aren't you looking for her? Why are you bothering me?!"

Since it's a rare opportunity to go home for the Chinese New Year, he took more than half a month of leave.

Who knew that my comfortable and leisurely vacation would be ruined by this damn guy in less than a few days!

He hadn't even gotten out of bed that day when his phone started ringing and vibrating incessantly.

He glanced at the unfamiliar number, frowned, and hung up. He then turned off the phone, tossed it aside, and went back to sleep.

To his surprise, less than three minutes later, there was a knock on his door!

“Young Master Heng, a Mr. Sheng has arrived at the main gate and says he wants to see you immediately.”

He muttered "Let him wait," then pulled the thick quilt over his shoulder and went back to dreaming.

Unexpectedly, after a while, his door was banged on loudly!

"Bang bang bang!"

"Bang bang bang!"

The other party clearly had the urge to demolish the house, forcing him to wake up and open the door while yawning.

Sheng Xuan's face was pale, his eyes were piercing, and he stared coldly at him, asking bluntly, "Where is she?"

Since that day, his leisurely and wonderful vacation was gone forever. Sheng Xuan was like a disgusting fly, relentlessly pestering him and demanding to know A Lang's whereabouts.

He pretended not to know anything and kept quiet, thinking that Sheng Xuan would lose patience and leave soon after he couldn't get any answers from her.

Who knew that his patience was as long and stinky as a stinky old woman's foot binding cloth, haunting him for days and nights, even catching him when he secretly went out to the mountains.

Finally, Yuan Heng couldn't hold back any longer and completely exploded!

"Sheng Xuan! This is Y City, the territory of the Yuan family! I only gave you a little leeway before because of A Lang. If you dare to act like this again, I'll cut you to pieces!"
