The winter morning was chilly. After getting up, Ning Lang went downstairs to see A-Lu.
The living room on the first floor was warm and cozy, but the little guy was still asleep, his head tilted to one side, not moving at all.
She went upstairs to wash up and change her clothes, then came back down, opened the kitchen cabinets, and started making breakfast.
"Beep—" The induction cooker was turned on.
Ning Lang couldn't help but glance back at A-Lu, and was surprised to find that it was sleeping so soundly that it hadn't been woken up.
She smiled indulgently, washed some black glutinous rice, soaked some red dates, and slowly did yoga while cooking glutinous rice porridge.
A moment later, "Ding-dong! Ding-dong!" The doorbell rang suddenly!
Ning Lang turned off the stove, walked out of the open kitchen, glanced at the surveillance camera in the living room, and raised an eyebrow in surprise.
—It was Shan Jueyi!
How could it be her? Could it be because of Yuan Heng?
Ning Lang couldn't help but chuckle softly.
Finally, someone is willing to get it early.
She took a cashmere coat from the entryway, put it on, opened the door, walked out into the yard, and opened the main gate herself.
A Mercedes was parked at the entrance. Shan Jueyi was wearing a dark coat and a checkered towel, looking elegant and aloof.
Ning Lang smiled happily, "Dean Shan, what's the wind blowing today? It makes my humble abode so special!"
Dan Jueyi nodded calmly and said, "Mr. Ning, I apologize for bothering you so early in the morning."
"Please come in." Ning Lang gracefully extended her hand.
Shan Jueyi stepped in, but quickly stopped and stood outside the courtyard.
“Boss Ning, we are relatives. According to old tradition, I should call you ‘sister-in-law’ like my sister does.”
Her brother-in-law is Ning Lang's second brother. Although the two are not very close, they have known each other for many years and are quite familiar with each other.
Seeing that her face darkened and her expression became serious, Ning Lang slowly suppressed the smile on her lips.
"Everyone here is very busy, and the young lady from the Shan family doesn't come unless she has a reason. I originally thought you came for Aheng."
Dan Jueyi's eyes were filled with worry, and his words were earnest.
"Mr. Ning is extremely intelligent and meticulous. He should have guessed that I came for you. To be precise, I came for your health."
Ning Lang smiled slightly, "I am very grateful, but I would have preferred that you came for Aheng."
"His matter with me isn't difficult." A hint of warmth flashed across Shan Jueyi's cold gaze. "He's a coward, but I'm not. I guess Boss Ning must be having a hard time making a decision right now, so I wanted to come and try to persuade you."
Ning Lang lowered his eyes and didn't reply.
Dan Jueyi bowed slightly and said solemnly, "As a relative and a friend, I must apologize to you first. This has violated your privacy, but please forgive my abruptness in consideration of my concern."
“It’s alright, you also have the heart of a doctor and a parent.” Ning Lang smiled wistfully.
Shan Jueyi said in a deep voice, "As a doctor, I hope you will undergo surgery immediately. There can be no delay."
"Thank you." Ning Lang gave an elegant bow. "You mean well, but... I need to think about it some more."
“You understand medical principles and pharmacology, you should know that this is not a risky matter.” Shan Jueyi was slightly agitated. “Health is always the most important thing, and you must understand that.”
"I understand." Ning Lang smiled wryly, "But I can't make a decision yet."
Shan Jueyi frowned. "I don't want to say anything more. I hope you can have the surgery as soon as possible."
"Ding-dong! Ding-dong!" The doorbell rang again.
Ning Lang gently shook her head, signaling her not to continue, then turned and opened the door.
Sheng Xuan, dressed in a white tracksuit, tall and handsome, was wiping away sweat with a towel, his deep-set eyes raising slightly towards her.
"Why haven't you exercised yet? Let's go for a run together!"
Then, he peeked into the courtyard and exclaimed in surprise, "Dean Shan?!"
