As the sun sets in the west, night falls quickly, and the city lights twinkle.
Ning Rui took two set meals and, through a combination of coaxing and deception, snatched A-Lu from Yuan Heng's arm and swaggered away from Shanxiang Restaurant.
The car was a bit dark, and Ah-Lu leaned on his shoulder, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.
Ning Rui glanced at the little guy affectionately and turned down the volume of the music in the car.
Ah Lü has been raised by the Ning family for over ten years and is considered a small part of the Ning family.
From the elders, uncles, aunts, and great-uncles, to the younger generation of nephews, nieces, and mischievous children, everyone loves this chubby little guy.
Unfortunately, it's old, and Ning Lang is reluctant to take it out often, otherwise the daily laughs would be many times greater.
We arrived at the hospital and parked the car.
The tall and sturdy Ning Rui carefully stepped out of the car, his upper body stiffening, and his long legs walked at a steady pace toward the VIP ward.
Green is a light sleeper. When it hears lights and voices around it, it immediately wakes up and excitedly looks around.
Ning Rui whispered mysteriously, "I'm bringing you to see someone."
A-Lu asked curiously, "Who? Who?"
Ning Rui smiled like the Big Bad Wolf and replied, "Bad guy."
The bird and the person entered the elevator, handed over the access card, and soon arrived at Sheng Xuan's ward.
Uncle Qing, who was sitting at the door, quickly stood up and greeted him warmly and enthusiastically.
"Young Master Rui, you've arrived. Oh! Isn't this Ah Lu? It's been so long since I've seen Ah Lu, you're still so chubby!"
Ah-Lu turned her head away haughtily, "You're fatter! You're fatter!"
Qingbo and Ningrui both chuckled.
Upon hearing the noise, Sheng Xuan put his phone into his pocket and came out from the kitchen.
When Green saw him, it excitedly flapped its wings.
"Ah-Xuan! Hurry up and scoop the poop! Hurry up!"
Sheng Xuan chuckled, his tall frame swaying as he swished over, flicking its little bottom with his thick index finger.
“Pull the rake down! As long as Ning Rui doesn’t kill you, I might consider shoveling it.”
When Ah Lü was bullied, she quickly flew to Ning Rui's other shoulder.
"Ah-hsuan is bad! Down there! Submissive! Friendship over!"
Sheng Xuan, with one hand still wrapped in snow-white gauze, laughed heartily.
"Who taught you all this nonsense? Kid, that's not how you swear. Have you forgotten all the 'bastard' and 'stinking turtle' I taught you before? You little bastard!"
Ah Lü quickly remembered and excitedly repeated, "Bastard! Bastard!"
Ning Rui laughed and handed the takeout bag to Uncle Qing.
"Eat it while it's hot!"
Uncle Qing nodded in thanks.
Sheng Xuan grumbled in dissatisfaction, "When are we finally going to get out? I feel like I'm going to rot!"
He was the same age as several young people in the Ning family, grew up together, and had a close friendship with them, even sharing the same underwear.
Ning Rui shrugged and retorted, "Your wound isn't healed yet, what's the rush?"
The previous premeditated murder case had to be treated as a regular traffic accident case because of a lack of evidence and the consistent denials from the dozen or so defendants.
Sheng Ju is cunning and treacherous, with unpredictable thoughts; he's not someone to be trifled with.
Ning Lang had her reasons for sending him here to cultivate his mind and character.
Sheng Xuan rolled her eyes and snorted, "Why isn't it better yet? You'll have to ask your good cousin!"
The wound on his hand was a cut, not deep, and would heal in about a week.
But it didn't heal for a long time. The wound always showed signs of suppuration. It wasn't serious, but it just stayed like that.
He was 100% certain that Ning Lang had sabotaged the medicinal cuisine!
Ning Rui chuckled, as always, swift and decisive in shirking responsibility.
"Go ask him yourself, it's not like it's my hand that's injured!"
Sheng Xuan didn't dare at all, and with a smirk, she took out her phone and sent an account to Ning Rui.
“I’m selling half of the stocks I traded in Country S these next few days, and the money is all in this account. Someone might be eyeing them, so I’ll transfer the money to your account this afternoon for a while.”
Ning Rui opened several unread text messages and quickly spotted a bank balance notification message with many numbers and a string of zeros.
He shook his head and scoffed, "Such a huge number, I couldn't raise it even if I earned my salary for several lifetimes without eating or drinking. You're trying to get me targeted by the anti-corruption team!"
This kid truly lives up to his reputation as the eldest grandson of the Sheng family; his very being is brimming with the ability to make money.
