Chapter 19
In the dim and cramped environment, a sudden gust of cold wind blew by, extinguishing the lamp on the candlestick, and the surrounding scenery darkened.
Jiang Mian looked up, her eyes, misty with tears, unable to hide her surprise. His cool fingertips were still on her lips. This was the first time she had been so close to him. She had always known he was handsome, but she was always surprised every time.
The strange emotions were amplified infinitely, but the two people outside were still churning with their own emotions.
"My lord, I am so cold."
"Sweetie, I'm coming to pamper you."
"..."
Filthy words and unpleasant sounds surrounded the small, cramped space from all sides. His hearing was excellent; he could tell how far things were going without even listening closely. But Jiang Mian was in his arms, which made him unconsciously think of the dream from yesterday.
His Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he suddenly caught a glimpse of her snow-white, soft neck.
Last night, the surface was mottled, seemingly all traces he left behind.
But beneath my fingertips, the unfamiliar touch suddenly felt hot.
"Hey, who opened the door?"
The two, who were engrossed in their passionate embrace, suddenly stopped. The woman's delicate shoulders were exposed to the air, and she loosely draped her outer garment over her body, barely concealing them. A hint of hesitation flashed in her eyes as she pushed the person on top of her, saying, "My lord, the door is open."
The Buddhist hall was quiet, and the intense commotion from earlier had entered her mind perfectly. This sudden exclamation made her heart leap into her throat.
Oh no.
She didn't notice the two of them when she came in, nor did she close the door.
If they discover something amiss and come to investigate, they will inevitably find her and Shen Ji. At that point, rumors will spread, which could cause trouble.
Thinking of this, she quickly raised her eyes and said in a very soft voice, "Cousin, I'm sorry."
Then she tried to hide him under the incense table, but her skirt got caught on something, and she lost her balance. She almost fell on top of him, and he fell down with her.
"Bang--"
The young novice monk outside finally noticed something was wrong and, holding a candle, shouted, "Who's there!"
The person who had just arrived and was about to close the door was startled. He turned back as fast as he could, grabbed the woman, and broke out of the window. Instantly, the once lively Buddhist hall fell silent.
A moment later, the young novice monk approached with a lantern, circled around, and a nimble cat suddenly stopped at the door. A smile appeared on his face as he squatted down: "So it was you causing trouble here."
cat:"……"
"Let's go, let's go. I've been looking for you all day, and you were hiding here."
The young novice monk did not notice Jiang Mian and Shen Ji, but instead turned around and locked the door.
After that, he left with the cat in his arms.
...
In the Buddhist temple's storage room, Jiang Mian's face was contorted in pain. She wrapped her arms around Shen Ji's waist and abdomen, and her legs rested between his knees.
With a "click," she heard the door being locked.
The room fell silent again, and several candles went out, presumably from the cold wind that blew out when the two people hurriedly left.
A dark shadow hung over Shen Ji's eyes, and the soft, fragrant scent emanating from him seemed to truly overlap with that dream.
What did he do in his dream?
He tore open her dress and pulled her into his arms without hesitation, and at that moment, she was right in front of him.
His Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and he was about to speak when the woman on top of him groaned, "Cousin, my leg seems to be cramping."
As if bewitching demons from the forest landed beside his ear, his eyelashes drooped slightly, lost in thought.
"Can you get up?"
Jiang Mian shook her head, her voice unconsciously tinged with a sob: "It hurts."
The pain was so bad I couldn't stand up.
Shen Ji reached out and placed his fingertips on her waist. Before, he had only lightly touched her waist, but now he was truly in control of her light and soft waist.
Very fine.
Just like in his dream.
Then, with a gentle effort, he flipped over and took control of the situation.
Jiang Mian was somewhat surprised and slumped down on the prayer mat behind her. The person in front of her was kneeling in front of her, his hand still holding her waist. This scene suddenly made her scalp tingle.
In the secluded Buddhist monastery, she shared a room with her cousin.
Just moments ago she was astonished that the two adulterers dared to be so audacious, and now, in this secluded corner, she and her cousin were embracing...
"hiss……"
Jiang Mian gasped as her thoughts were interrupted.
Shen Ji's fingertips moved downwards: "Is it here?"
Jiang Mian shook her head, her eyes almost completely covered with tears: "No, a little lower."
...
Shen Ji remained silent, lifting her ankle with one hand while searching for the cramped spot with the other, moving downwards.
"pain……"
Finally, the hand stopped wandering and landed two inches below her knee, gently rubbing it.
Jiang Mian bit her lip, a soft moan escaping from between her teeth. For a moment, she thought of the woman's soft cry from earlier, and her voice stopped abruptly.
That's so weird.
Shen Ji's movements were neither too light nor too heavy, and he rhythmically massaged the cramped area for her. After the pain subsided, Jiang Mian felt a little better, and her tightly furrowed brows relaxed slightly. She looked at his face and then, unexpectedly, he looked up as well.
Their eyes met in mid-air.
Jiang Mian quickly lowered her head, and Shen Ji also looked away, his hand unconsciously clenching at her ankle.
slim.
Every part of her body seemed very delicate.
Except...
He pursed his lips, suppressing the growing, abnormal thoughts, and gently put her ankle down, saying softly, "You should be able to walk now."
Jiang Mian nodded.
In fact, her leg had long since healed, but she selfishly wanted to spend more time with him. Now that he had calmly gotten up, she had no reason to sit on the ground anymore.
He stood up as well.
The lock on the door was still firmly in place. She hadn't noticed it when she was too busy with the tension, but now that it was quiet, she realized it was a bit cold, so cold that she couldn't help but shiver.
A subtle atmosphere also spread.
She glanced up at Shen Ji, only to find that he had already left the small space. Jiang Mian quickly followed, but saw him stop in front of the Buddhist shrine.
Jiang Mian looked down and exclaimed, "Oh, it's my purse!"
Shen Ji raised an eyebrow; the two who had been so intimate just moments before were right here.
He picked up the purse and handed it to her, saying, "Take this, don't lose it."
Jiang Mian quickly took it, her fingertips accidentally touching him, but she quickly withdrew them. She nodded, suddenly feeling fortunate. If that madman had picked up the purse, she would have been unable to explain herself no matter how hard she tried.
But then again, who exactly are those two people, daring to act so presumptuously here as if no one else is around?
"Cousin, do you know that person from earlier?"
She was incredibly curious. She had come here looking for her purse, but why had he appeared? And judging from the situation, he seemed to have arrived even earlier than her.
"Bai An, the younger brother of the military governor."
Jiang Mian nodded. "Jiedushi?"
It seemed far removed from her. She paid no attention to these matters of power and wealth, yet she felt a pang of regret. The sordid affairs of the elite disturbed the tranquility of the Buddhist temple. Although the window had been open for a long time, the warm fragrance lingered around her, seemingly invisibly.
She touched the tip of her nose, unaware that the person in front of her had suddenly stopped, and accidentally bumped into his sturdy back.
"Cousin..."
She didn't mean it.
Fortunately, Shen Ji only paused for a moment without turning around. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but then a strange sense of melancholy arose within her, as if she was both expecting and afraid of his reaction.
Shen Ji walked to the window, his dark eyes casually sweeping around before turning to look at Jiang Mian: "The door is locked. Let's leave from here."
After saying that, he flipped over and jumped down nimbly. Jiang Mian blinked and saw that the table was a bit high off the ground. After hesitating for a while, she also stepped onto the window table. However, when she looked down at the ground, she was still a little hesitant.
She closed her eyes, intending to jump without hesitation, but the next moment she landed in a warm embrace.
She looked up blankly, Shen Ji's expression remained unchanged, but his hand calmly fell to her waist, as if he were catching her steadily.
However, this scene looks more like she's throwing herself into someone's arms.
Jiang Mian was a little dazed, and Shen Ji turned his head away as well: "I forgot you have trouble walking."
Are you explaining this to her?
Jiang Mian blinked, and suddenly felt her heart race.
She had to admit that her distant and aloof yet gentle and accommodating cousin made her want to get closer to him.
In Yangzhou, her beauty often brought her trouble. The powerful and wealthy treated her like a plaything, and the men's eyes were filled with undisguised lust and possessiveness. She had never seen such a cold and aloof person, as if she could not find any worldly desires in him.
It's very clean.
Untouched by dust.
This was something she had never seen before.
This made her unable to resist wanting to tease him further.
Watching him be consumed by desire, watching him lose control because of her, watching his eyes filled with her, I wonder if he will become like that.
"It's windy tonight. If nothing happens, try not to go out. If anything does happen, send someone to find me."
Jiang Mian nodded, seeing no other emotions in his eyes, as if she were just an ordinary younger sister to him, whom he indulged in every way because they were family.
Jiang Mian suddenly felt a little lost. She didn't want him to only fulfill his responsibilities as an older brother to her. She wanted him to develop other feelings for her, preferably like those men, who could easily be infatuated with her.
In matters of the heart, she has never failed.
"Cousin, my room isn't clean. Could I rest at your place? I promise I won't bother you, just for one night."
She raised her expectant face, her cheeks as white as snow, her almond-shaped eyes reflecting his image. For some reason, the refusal she was about to utter turned into a simple "okay."
He told her to put her purse away, but tacitly granted her unreasonable request.
Isn't this just further condoning it?
Jiang Mian blinked, and her joy became visibly apparent.
She's changing her mind.
Originally, she used her cousin to escape her aunt's control, but now she wants to possess her cousin even more, wanting to drag him down from his sacred cloud and make him her devoted subject.
By then, she was all he could think about.
Rather than a loving but distant marriage, she longed for the high and mighty Holy Son to submit to her.
Because of her, desires increased.
