Chapter 28 The Lively Su Mansion

Su Shien came over and greeted Han Zeyu from a distance.

Walking quickly closer, Su Shien glanced at the unhappy Concubine Chen, dragging Han Zeyu to his side and sternly scolding her, "If I hadn't come to find you, wouldn't you have known to go back? Don't you know that people's words are scary and that men and women shouldn't touch each other? These things are nothing more than gossip to men, but if someone with ulterior motives fabricates them, how will Concubine Chen live her life in the future?"

Aunt Chen was furious and quickly defended herself, "Master, be careful what you say. There is absolutely nothing between the Madam and me. Not to mention the age and generation differences, even based on gender alone, there is absolutely no possibility for us to be together."

Han Zeyu puffed out his small chest in dissatisfaction. Even though he was a pure and weak bottom, he was also a man, and that was an indisputable fact.

Aunt Chen was furious. "Don't try to prove yourself blindly at this time. Does that mean that as a young man you don't have to care about your reputation?"

The most infuriating thing was the way Su Shien looked at her, as if he was guarding against a thief.

Aunt Chen thought to herself, "Don't you even look at your husband's face? He's like a foxy woman. What woman would be so stupid as to seduce him?"

Su Shien's current personality is that of a love-brained person. He won't reason with you and will just take his husband and leave.

The two of them held hands and strolled back to the yard, where they ran into an unfamiliar maid.

Su Shien walked forward without looking around, completely ignoring the presence of the maid.

Han Zeyu looked at him curiously. He had never seen this man before. He must be the seventh servant in this yard.

Su Shien explained in a low voice: "Everyone knows that I will be separated soon. No one wants to leave the Su Mansion with me. They are all looking for a way out. This girl is the first one who wants to run away."

Han Zeyu understood. Judging from her appearance, she must have found a new home, otherwise she would not be so indifferent to the affairs in the courtyard. However, there are only a few masters in this mansion. Who can she rely on?

Aunt Chen went to the eldest lady to complain crying, but the eldest lady was still feeling very uncomfortable and had no time to comfort her. She asked the maid to hand Su Shiyuan back to Aunt Chen and let her take care of the child herself and not bother him.

As the newly appointed young lady, Han Zeyu strolled around the yard.

The yard where Su Shien lived was not big, at least not as spacious as the one he lived in the countryside.

In addition to the rooms used by the male owner for living and studying, there are also several rooms for servants to stay in. Three beautiful maids live in one room, and two servants live in one room.

What surprised Han Zeyu was that the wet nurse did not live in a separate room, but lived with the little girl who did needlework.

This yard doesn't even have a small kitchen, but there are quite a lot of people assigned to it. There simply isn't enough work to do. The little girls do nothing all day long. Even if they are scolded by the nanny, they don't take it seriously. They just admit their mistakes respectfully and go back to doing what they were supposed to do.

Wet nurses are also divided into different levels. Can Master Yunsong's wet nurse be of the same status as Master Shien's wet nurse? Several little maids are not afraid of her at all.

The reason why the yard is kept clean and tidy is entirely thanks to that simple-minded servant. The kid is not very smart, but he is strong and does his work without reservation.

The sixteen-year-old boy was at the age of growing up and usually did physical work. The portion allocated to the servants in the kitchen was not enough for him to eat.

The maids ate little, so they gave him the leftovers, and then they felt at ease pushing all the dirty and tiring work to him.

Han Zeyu didn't feel sorry for anyone. This was the nature of the food chain, and the eternal law of survival was the law of the jungle.

"Tiezhu, come here. Tomorrow, the eldest young master and I will return to Yunshan Village. You drive the carriage."

"Okay, young lady. I'll go pack the carriage now."

Another servant heard their conversation and thought it was a good thing that he was not asked to go with them. Going to the countryside was no better than staying in the mansion. Only this fool was willing to go with them happily.

No one knew that they would be staying in Yunshan Village for a while. Everyone thought it was just a return visit and they would be able to return that afternoon. Therefore, the wet nurse didn't want to go with them. She was just wondering why the list of return visits had not been handed to her yet?

After waiting for a long time, she unexpectedly received the list from the new wife, asking her to get something from the storeroom, and to report back to him once all the gifts were ready.

The wet nurse couldn't believe it. She started to seize power just one day after getting married. This was a slap in her face.

How could the wet nurse give up? But thinking of the eldest young master's love for that rude boy, she could only choose to retreat and make him know that the power in this courtyard is not something that anyone can easily control.

Han Zeyu was lying on the couch flipping through a storybook, sighing. The imagination of ancient people was really limited. Apart from love and revenge, their stories were a bit monotonous.

The love stories are not bizarre or melodramatic enough, and the revenge is not brutal and ruthless.

Han Zeyu, a poor student, is using modern people's standards to criticize ancient literary works, completely forgetting the limitations of this era.

The writers of storybooks are all young men, and they are all weak scholars. It is a pipe dream to expect them to describe grand scenes and ups and downs of the plot.

Su Shien smiled and said, "I've read all those storybooks. The kind of people a down-and-out scholar can only meet are the same types: daughters of officials, daughters of wealthy men, and courtesans."

Han Zeyu corrected him, "There are also charming and seductive vixens, like me."

Han Zeyu used his slender fingers to press the corners of his eyes and pull them upwards, immediately creating the illusion of fox eyes.

Su Shien smiled and pulled his hand down. This guy is always like this. It’s very relaxing to be with him. You can talk about whatever you want.

The couple was laughing and joking when suddenly a figure appeared at the door. They neither knocked nor spoke, but just stood there like a door god, looking at them with resentment.

To be more precise, he was looking at Su Shien.

Han Zeyu blinked. There were only four young girls in the yard, three of whom were bed-climbing girls sent by the eldest lady. One was about to run away, and the other two were ready to run away at any time.

I didn't expect that this one remaining one really wanted to get into bed from the bottom of his heart. What a pity...

"Hahahahaha, I'm dying of laughter."

Han Zeyu laughed heartily. Su Shien rolled his eyes at the man at the door, helplessly hugged Yu Ge'er who was rolling on the bed, and looked at him angrily.

"You are so dishonest that you actually laughed at me."

Han Zeyu looked at Su Shien's slightly childish face with smiling eyes, and instantly found it even funnier.

How did a little girl of fourteen or fifteen manage to look so artificial and yet still slightly greasy? Who taught her that?

He even dared to dance in front of his original wife, which was really comedic.
