Chapter 6: Encountering Wild Mandarin Ducks on the Road

After returning home in a daze, Han Zeyu told his parents that the Su family would come to deliver the betrothal gifts in three days.

Han Cheng and Zhao said they already knew this. Was there any need for this kid to get so worked up? Could he be thinking of going back on his word again?

Han Cheng hesitated and said, "Boss, tell Dad what you think?"

Han Zeyu's thoughts were still wandering in mid-air: "Ah? What are you thinking?"

Zhao asked anxiously, "It's about your marriage to Master Su. Do you really not regret it?"

Han Zeyu came back to his senses instantly: "Of course I don't regret it. I went to the academy to see Ze Cang today, and I met him again by the way. I think he likes me more and more. He is simply a match made in heaven for me."

Seeing that his parents were about to say something, Han Zeyu quickly stopped them and said, "I have made up my mind. No need to say more. Tomorrow I have to go up the mountain to report to the old ancestor and see if he has any instructions."

Han Zeyu returned to his room in a weird state, and the couple looked at each other in bewilderment. Could it be that this marriage was arranged by their ancestors?

The most important thing in the world is sleeping. Han Zeyu's unshakable sleep quality is enviable. After experiencing the apocalypse for half a year, he has never had a good night's sleep. After coming here, he is completely enjoying his sleep time.

The scene in the dream was so captivating, Su Shien was holding him and spinning around in the afterglow of the sunset. Note! This wasn't just an ordinary hug, but a standard sideways princess hug.

They turn and turn, turn and turn.

Suddenly, Su Shien's face changed, as if he was overwhelmed and had no strength left. It turned out that the petite Han Zeyu in his arms was growing taller at an incredible speed. Just when the two were about to fall, Han Zeyu was finally awakened by the fright.

Han Zeyu lifted the quilt, revealing a pair of white and smooth legs. He breathed a sigh of relief. It was a blessing that they were not his one-meter-long legs covered with battle scars.

I wanted to fall back to sleep, but I was afraid of having the same dream again, so I got up and went for a walk in the mountains.

It was not until breakfast was served that Zhao discovered that Yuger was not in the room. She went to the woodshed and took a look. The backpack and hatchet were missing, so she knew that the child had gone up the mountain again.

Fortunately, during lunch time, Han Zeyu finally came down the mountain with a full load of spoils on his back.

Zhao was surprised and asked, "Are you going to rob the mountain temple?"

Han Zeyu said modestly, "How could that be possible! These are the dowry my ancestors gave me. I have to go up the mountain tomorrow. There are too many things to take in one trip."

"Oh? Does the ancestor have any instructions?"

"Yes! He said that Young Master Su and I are destined to be together. We can be harmonious together, and things will get better and better. Our Han family will also be more prosperous."

"Did our ancestors really say that? That's great! Remember to bring incense, candles, and paper money when you go up the mountain tomorrow."

"I know, I know..."

Han Zeyu went through this for two days. As the engagement day was approaching, he was both nervous and excited. There was a surge of energy in his body. He couldn't sit still, so he climbed out of the window in the middle of the night and ran up the mountain again.

But when passing by the woods by the river, I seemed to hear some discordant sounds.

Driven by his gossipy nature, Han Zeyu slowed down his movements and slowly approached the source of the sound.

He thought someone was taking advantage of the dead of night to do something improper, but he didn't expect that he was just too ignorant and that the other person was clearly doing something shameful.

The bursts of panting made Han Zeyu blush. He didn't know which pair of mandarin ducks were so shameless as to have sex with each other.

He's still an unmarried man! He wonders if he'll get stye after looking at all that filthy stuff.

When he gets married, he will do this and that with his dear husband...

He couldn't think about it anymore. His nose was getting hot. Although these two people were probably not serious people, he didn't want to be a perverted voyeur.

Just as Han Zeyu turned to leave, a slightly charming voice called out "Brother Yan".

Han Zeyu was stunned for a moment, thinking, this can't be such a coincidence?

I turned back and took another look. The moonlight tonight was not very bright, and I still couldn't see the figures of the two people clearly, let alone their appearance and age.

It was really difficult for him to tell whether the man was Zhao Yan from the breathing sound. Han Zeyu left this troubled place in disappointment and went up the mountain full of doubts.

The shadows of the trees on the mountain were looming, and the moonlight shining through was even dimmer. Han Zeyu held his breath and concentrated, relying entirely on his earth-based supernatural powers to clear the way.

He had just felt the energy surging through his body, and had never expected to advance at this juncture.

Han Zeyu sat on the ground, concentrating on breaking through the level barriers.

Wild beasts will not appear on the mountainside in the middle of the night, there will be no zombie attacks, and there will be no malicious psychics coveting the psychic cores of their own kind.

When Han Zeyu first arrived in the other world, his level dropped to level one, and saving himself in the water had already exhausted all of his supernatural powers.

After these days of accumulation, his ability finally reached the edge of promotion. As a second-level earth-type ability user, he could barely protect himself in the end times. In this peaceful environment, he could live more freely.

When he opened his eyes again, Han Zeyu found that his five senses were sharper than before, and he could see the general outline of some things even in the dark.

Han Zeyu couldn't help but sigh. If he had the current level of supernatural power just now, he would not have been able to see the true faces of the couple. He didn't know if he could catch up with the end of the action scene if he turned back now.

I looked up at the sky and saw that it was around three in the morning. I thought about it and decided to give up. Those two people probably didn't have that much physical strength and would have gone home long ago.

Han Zeyu picked up a big branch and continued walking into the mountains with it. Fortunately, he caught a silly deer when the sky first brightened.

Han Zeyu was very excited. If he hadn't just seen the antlers, he would have thought that he had shot a stupid roe deer that came to him on its own, and it would be unreasonable not to catch it.

When they were walking down the mountain, they were still seen. Er Gouzi said sourly, "The Han family's young man is quite amazing. He runs up the mountain every day. He must have caught a lot of good things. We are from the same village. Please teach me some of your experience. Don't keep it to yourself!"

Han Zeyu said sincerely, "Don't worry, I won't hide anything. Hunting is all about courage, carefulness, and recklessness. Don't run away when a tiger comes. If you kill it, you'll be a hero, and the government will commend you."

Er Gouzi said rudely: "If you don't want to tell me, then don't tell me. You are such a sharp-tongued young man. You might not be able to get married."

Han Zeyu glared at him and said, "Who can't get married? He's going to be married soon, and you, a lazy idiot, don't know shit!"

He broke off a branch as thick as his arm with his bare hands and threw it towards Ergouzi without hesitation.

The sound of the wind rushed past his ears. When Ergouzi reacted, he was so scared that he turned around and ran away. He never dared to tease the tough young man from the Han family again.
