Chapter 96: Is this duck delicious?

After Zhao Xiaoyang left, Zhao Yuanzheng quickly and quietly called Zhao Guozhong.

"Hey, Guozhong, Xiaoyang is here. Why don't you go up the mountain early too?"

“Okay, okay!”

"It just so happens that Xiaoyang brought a duck over. Let's pluck it together."

"Uh...coming right up!"

After hanging up the phone, Zhao Yuanzheng looked at the struggling duck and couldn't help licking the corner of his mouth.

In the backyard, Zhao Xiaoyang went over and saw Zhao Baotai sitting in a wheelchair, facing a chess game while fiddling with his cell phone.

"Hey, old man, are you playing chess?"

"Xiaoyang is here!"

Looking up, Zhao Baotai took off his reading glasses and said, "Hey, I'm bored sitting around all day, let's find something to do."

"Xiaoyang, mobile phones are really amazing nowadays. I've been trying to figure out how to download this master-level game for days, but I still can't. How about you help me take a look?"

Zhao Xiaoyang smiled when he heard this.

Nowadays, chess is dominated by software.

Even the current number one grandmaster in the chess world may not be able to beat him!

However, Zhao Xiaoyang did not disturb the old man's interest, as it was just a casual chat anyway.

The two of them fiddled with their phones.

Not long after, Zhao Guozhong came over excitedly and was about to go to the backyard, but was stopped by Zhao Yuanzheng.

The two of them plucked the duck feathers as if they were doing needlework.

Zhao Guozhong was over fifty years old and his eyes were beginning to become presbyopic. Tweezing hair with a pair of reading glasses was even more tiring than working in the fields.

After finally finishing the job, Zhao Guozhong stretched his muscles and finally had time to go to the backyard to find Zhao Xiaoyang.

But I was attracted by the aroma of sizzling oil coming from the kitchen.

"Hey, Lao Er, where did you learn this skill? Why does it smell so good?"

"Huh? I don't know! What's going on? I haven't added any seasoning yet!"

Zhao Yuanzheng was also confused and shocked by his own "miraculous" cooking skills.

Now Zhao Guozhong couldn't move and just stayed in the kitchen helping Zhao Yuanzheng prepare a table of dishes.

At lunch time, Zhao Xiaoyang was called out by Zhao Yuanzheng to sit at the table, only to find that the village chief was also there.

After a few polite words, Zhao Xiaoyang didn't take it seriously.

It is quite normal for people in the village to visit each other for meals.

Zhao Baotai was pushing his wheelchair alone on the sofa, watching TV while eating the green-shelled eggs brought by Zhao Xiaoyang, accompanied by bone soup, which was his regular menu these days.

However, the wonderful aroma of braised duck coming from the dining table also aroused Zhao Baotai's appetite.

He recently went to take another X-ray. His ribs are recovering slowly and he cannot eat any meat or greasy food. The old man is feeling very sad!

Fortunately, after eating two fragrant green-shelled eggs, I was able to suppress my gluttony.

But after a while, Zhao Baotai felt something was wrong. Why was something strange happening at the dinner table?

He turned his head and immediately frowned.

The three people at the table were busy eating. Where was the discussion they had agreed to have?

"Yuanzheng! What are you eating?"

"Xiaoyang brought over a big pot of duck, and it tasted really good!"

Zhao Yuanzheng sighed and picked up another duck neck to start chewing.

Well……

Zhao Baotai followed up by shouting, "Guozhong, don't just focus on eating, drink some wine!"

Zhao Guozhong finally realized what was going on and quickly raised his glass: "Come on, Xiaoyang, you've done a lot for our village tea factory these days. I have to toast you."

"Village chief, you are too polite. I also get dividends. It's my due, it's my due." Zhao Xiaoyang raised his glass and said.

After clinking his glasses, Zhao Guozhong couldn't help but pick up a large piece of duck meat.

Fatty but not greasy, dry but not woody, and full of fragrance...these adjectives are often seen in food shows.

But Zhao Guozhong had been eating duck for most of his life, and only at this moment did he truly understand the meaning.

"Ahem! Guozhong! Is this duck delicious?"

"Haha, old man, this duck isn't about whether it tastes good or not. In short, it's just one word: delicious!"

Zhao Guozhong sighed and buried his head in his food again.

During the meal, the wine glass was only raised once, but most of the large pot of braised white duck was already eaten.

This time the old man finally couldn't hold it in anymore.

Isn't this bullshit?

We clearly agreed to come here to discuss something, so why can’t you stop eating?

If life wasn’t getting better now, one would really think it was still a disaster year where people couldn’t get enough food to eat!

Zhao Guozhong has been the village chief for so many years, how could he not know how to ask Xiaoyang for help with such a trivial matter?

Zhao Baotai couldn't bear it anymore and pushed the wheelchair over heavily.

Just as he was about to speak, Zhao Baotai was stunned by the strong smell of oil.

No, I can’t help it, I want to eat it too!

"Dad, you can't eat this!"

Seeing the old man pick up a duck wing and start chewing it, Zhao Yuanzheng couldn't help but persuade him.

"Hey, Uncle, we don't eat this duck every day, it's okay!"

Zhao Xiaoyang smoothed things over.

The old man’s physical condition is not suitable for eating these strong-flavored foods, but since he has already eaten them, can we really make him vomit them out?

"Yeah, Xiaoyang is right!"

Zhao Guozhong echoed, his face full of satisfaction.

“Ahem…”

After eating the duck wings, Zhao Baotai suddenly cleared his throat. His old throat was almost too sore to cough.

"Hey Yuanzheng, Guozhong, why do you just eat and have nothing to talk about?"

this……

Zhao Yuanzheng and Zhao Guozhong looked at each other before they reacted.

Damn it!

What happened just now?

Is he possessed by a starving ghost?
