On the main battlefield, Xiang Yu was leading the heavily armored cavalry of the Tang Dynasty, mercilessly reaping the lives of the enemy.
The three thousand Templar Knights were slaughtered without exception within a quarter of an hour.
Immediately afterwards, Xiang Yu led the Great Xia cavalry to charge towards the Crusader forces that were besieging the city.
His mission was to crush every Crusader in sight!
Xiang Yu was like a tiger descending the mountain, leading the charge and unstoppable.
The Chu halberd in his hand was like lightning slicing through the night sky, cold and dazzling.
With a mighty sweep, he shattered the oncoming crusader longsword, the broken blade tracing a poignant arc in the air. The crusader soldiers' hands were split open, their groans of pain echoing throughout the air.
With its remaining force, Chu Ji struck the Crusader soldiers again, this time heavily in the waist and chest, the force like a giant hammer blow leaving them defenseless. A multitude of soldiers fell, like ships swept away by a giant wave, powerless to struggle.
As Chu Ji danced, it resembled a rainbow-colored dragon coiling around his body, wielding it with unrestrained power.
He galloped through the enemy ranks, charging back and forth. When he advanced, the enemy soldiers retreated in droves, and when they retreated, they were as steady as mountains, with no one daring to pursue him even a step further.
At this moment, the Crusaders saw the Tang heavy cavalry charging towards them, and their faces turned pale and their bodies trembled uncontrollably.
Wherever these heavily armored cavalry went, nothing grew; bodies were trampled and sank into the mud—the most agonizing way to die.
However, just as Xiang Yu was slaughtering the Crusaders, a fast horse from the Great Xia Dynasty galloped over.
"General Xiang!" the light cavalryman shouted, "Be gentle! His Highness the Regent is telling you to be gentle!"
Upon hearing this, Xiang Yu was completely stunned.
"What? Be gentle?" he asked in astonishment.
"Yes, it's His Highness the Regent's decree!" the cavalryman continued, panting heavily. "He said you went too far in killing, and told you not to be so cruel, to be gentler!"
Xiang Yu, "???"
"What's the meaning?"
"General Xiang, I don't know either!" the light cavalryman said with a bitter expression. "His Highness instructed me to deliver a message to you: feign defeat, you must feign defeat!"
Xiang Yu, "!!!"
If he knew how to say "fuck," he would have already said "fuck" a hundred times by now!
You're telling me that battlefield combat is too brutal?
Are you suggesting that I, Xiang Yu, the Hegemon-King of Western Chu, feign defeat?
Before Xiang Yu could react, the light cavalryman had already turned around. "I'm sorry, General Xiang!" he said, "I still have to go to other places to convey His Highness the Regent's secret orders!"
After saying this, the light cavalryman kicked his spurs and quickly left the battlefield.
Xiang Yu was stunned, completely stunned!
Be gentle? How the hell am I supposed to be gentle?
In his bewilderment, he looked up and saw thousands upon thousands of Crusader cavalry suddenly charging out from both flanks.
"What?" Xiang Yu exclaimed in shock. "I clearly had Hu-style cavalry archers lying in ambush on both flanks. How did these enemies appear?"
Could it be that the Hu-style archer cavalry were completely annihilated by them?
It is my lord!
He must have withdrawn the Hu-style archer cavalry!
But why?
Just then, the sound of horses' hooves came from afar, startling them.
Upon closer inspection, it was a large contingent of Crusader heavy cavalry.
Unlike the Templars before them, these cavalrymen wore dark black armor with a white cross badge on their chests.
Apart from that, there are no other differences.
"If I'm not mistaken, it should be one of the three great knightly orders that my lord mentioned: the Knights Hospitaller!" Xiang Yu thought to himself. "Their combat strength is close to that of the Knights Templar."
Upon closer inspection, the Hospitallers numbered approximately ten thousand.
Xiang Yu smiled coldly, knowing that even if the Crusader cavalry on both flanks were combined with 10,000 heavily armored cavalry, they would still be no match for him.
No matter which three enemies came from, he only needed to lead the Tang Dynasty's Xuanjia heavy cavalry to eliminate them one by one.
The Overlord's special skill can actually increase Xiang Yu's troops' attack power by 60%.
"A bunch of ants!" Xiang Yu muttered to himself.
Just then, another light cavalryman rode up.
"General Xiang!" the man shouted, "Be gentle! His Highness the Regent has instructed you to be gentle!"
Xiang Yu, “…”
"Again?" He was completely dumbfounded. "What exactly does the lord mean?"
"Feign defeat, General Xiang, you must feign defeat!" the man continued to shout.
Just like the light cavalry before him, he left behind this sentence and immediately rode away.
Xiang Yu was left standing there, completely bewildered.
"I'll be defeated by this!" he gritted his teeth, his expression extremely bitter.
The system brainwashed Xiang Yu into unconditionally obeying Lin Mo's orders.
Even such an unreasonable demand to feign defeat.
"Fine, I'll feign defeat then!"
"Our lord must have some important plan in mind."
Thinking of this, Xiang Yu reluctantly turned his horse around and shouted to his Tang Dynasty Xuanjia cavalry, "Retreat!"
The Tang Dynasty's Xuanjia cavalry were highly disciplined, although many of them were even more bewildered than Xiang Yu.
However, military orders are absolute and must be obeyed.
And so, the Great Xia cavalry, who were slaughtering the Crusaders just a moment ago, retreated in a confused and bewildered manner.
This scene left Bai Qi, who was on the city wall, completely dumbfounded.
"What's going on?" Bai Qi wondered in surprise. "Why are they withdrawing their troops?"
"Could it be that our lord did this on purpose?"
"Your purpose is to punish me?"
It is true that I knew the truth but did not report it, confidently believing that I could defend Xichuan City.
But, my lord, you don't have to play like this, do you?
What happened next left Bai Qi even more bewildered.
But then they saw ten thousand Knights of the Hospitallers charging menacingly toward Xiang Yu's troops.
