Chapter 39 Mid-Autumn Festival Extra: Fuyun Yao x Fuyun Sheng

Chapter 39 Mid-Autumn Festival Extra: Fuyun Yao x Fuyun Sheng

Under the shimmering moonlight, beautiful and elegant koi carp swam in the pond in the courtyard, their reflections mirroring the high-hanging moon.

Through the attic doorway, a figure in plain white could be vaguely seen inside. The figure sat leaning against the wooden railing, resting her chin on her hand, looking somewhat weary, with her gentle eyebrows and eyes lowered.

As the evening breeze blew, crabapple petals drifted gently onto the pond, creating ripples that scattered the reflections of people in the water.

"Alright," came the boy's casual, smiling voice.

Fu Yunyao looked up and met his shimmering, gentle eyes.

She tilted her head slightly and called out to him, word by word.

"Fu Yusheng".

"Yes, I'm here."

He responded softly and walked to her side, his red hem intertwining with her plain white hem.

He reached out and plucked the petals that had fallen on her. As he released them, the petals drifted away on the wind.

Fu Yunyao turned her head to look at him, "You came back so late."

"Sorry," he replied, his eyes gentle, "I brought you something fun."

With a slight movement of his fingertips, a beautiful lantern appeared on the table.

The warm walnut wood lamp stand is carved with lotus scroll patterns, and the warm yellow light seeps through the silk fabric, like crushed moonlight.

Crimson tassels adorned with pearls swayed gently in the wind, the pearls colliding and making a soft "tinkling" sound, even the shadows swayed gently in sync.

"What is this?" Fu Yunyao asked curiously, reaching out to touch the lantern.

Fu Yusheng looked at the subtle light in her eyes, a smile in his eyes, "These are called lanterns. Tonight is the Moon Festival, a festival for family reunions. Every year on this night, people release lanterns to pray for peace and good fortune."

Fu Yunyao touched the lantern with her fingertips and asked softly, "Is the mortal world very lively?"

Is it lively?

Fu Yusheng thought for a moment and decided it was too late to stay with her.

However, he still said, "The mortal world is quite beautiful at this time of year."

"I'd like to go see it too," she said casually.

“Okay, I’ll go with you.” He agreed earnestly.

Fu Yunyao couldn't help but laugh, her eyes sparkling brightly.

Fu Yusheng sat to one side, her figure reflected in his light-colored eyes.

He heard her say, "From now on, please bring me more of these things."

"Hmm?" He asked, somewhat puzzled. "What's wrong?"

Fu Yunyao pointed to the corner of the table, and only then did he notice a storybook on the table.

She said, "I've read all the storybooks you brought me last time, but I find this one strange and don't like it."

dislike?

Fu Yusheng had never experienced having his gifts rejected before, so he flipped through the storybook in his hand.

These were toys he bought from the human world to amuse her; each one was carefully selected. However, he was somewhat surprised to see the completely unfamiliar content in the books.

Suddenly, he remembered the shopkeeper's enthusiastic face when he bought the storybook, and he couldn't help but chuckle.

He casually flipped through a few pages and glanced at them. It was the kind of story that people love these days: the senior disciple and junior sister of a cultivation sect working together to subdue demons. He couldn't find anything wrong with it.

"Why don't you like it?" he asked.

Fu Yunyao took the book from his hand and turned to a page.

Fu Yusheng followed and looked.

"It's a pity that the former pride of the immortal sect was tricked by an ignorant mortal girl, losing his soul and heart, but it was all just a scheme by that mortal girl."

The crowd looked accusingly at the girl who had fallen to the ground, saying she was shameless for seducing Tianjiao.

They say she would stop at nothing to survive, causing a former prodigy to fall into demonic ways because of her.

Fang Chu, who was passing by, gently shook her head. She looked at her senior brother beside her and said helplessly, "How can someone be willing to depend on others and lose themselves just to survive?"

After Fu Yusheng finished reading this page, he flipped through several more pages, but the mortal girl did not reappear. In fact, she didn't even have a name.

Fu Yunyao's voice rang in his ear, "But what's wrong with wanting to live?"

The sound resonated in his heart. He looked up in a daze, gazing at the girl's figure under the lamplight. Her white dress shimmered in the candlelight, gentle and alluring.

He looked at the confusion in her eyes, felt a pang of tenderness, and found her adorable.

How could anyone feel indignant on behalf of a passerby whose name only appears in a few lines of a book?

He reached out, his fingertips brushing against the stray hairs on Fu Yunyao's forehead.

He thought, Liao Liao is really gentle, kind and cute.

The candlelight flickered in the lanterns, the tassels swaying gently, dazzling and captivating.

Fu Yunyao thought, if this one lantern is so dazzling, how prosperous the world must be right now?

She has never been to the mortal realm.

"That's it."

Fu Yusheng's voice rang out, "Look behind you."

Fu Yunyao was bewildered, but she turned around to look at him as he spoke.

Under the warm moonlight, thousands of lanterns rise up, drifting on the wind and converging and intertwining in the air.

More dazzling than starlight, more blinding than candlelight. Lights blend together, spreading a gentle glow.

Where the sky meets the water, the lights are reflected on the water's surface, making the scene even more prosperous.

Under the bright lights, the hems of their clothes intertwined.

"Alright," Fu Yusheng called softly, "There's one more lamp, would you like to set it?"

Fu Yunyao turned around and looked at the lantern in his hand, and the few words written by Fu Yusheng himself on the lantern's silk cloth.

May you find peace and happiness forever.

Behind her, on every lantern floating in mid-air, were written the same words.

Fu Yunyao reached out and took the lantern from his hand.

Under his loving and tender gaze, she wrote three more words on the silk cloth.

"Fu Yusheng".

May my wish be fulfilled, and may my life be filled with eternal peace and happiness.
