Chapter 46 Endless Sect: "You lied to me"
In the city of Zhongzhou, once Zhu Yu's matter was settled, the tightly closed doors of every household opened again, and the streets returned to their bustling and lively state.
"Oh, young master, we meet again."
When the owner of Wu's Noodle Shop saw Shi Yubai, he greeted him warmly, "Would you like another bowl of noodles? It's on me."
Shi Yu smiled at him and raised an eyebrow at Fu Yunyao.
"Will you eat before you leave?"
Fu Yunyao did not refuse.
When the stall owner saw the two of them enter the noodle shop, his smile became even more genuine.
"I knew it! Even Master Mo praised my noodle shop highly. Are you two preparing to leave?"
"Hmm," Shi Yubai replied, "It's a bit of a pity that I won't be able to eat such good noodles again soon."
The stall owner smiled again, "Come back if you want to eat, I'll treat you."
As he spoke, his gaze drifted toward where they were sitting.
His gaze paused when he saw Fu Yunyao.
A gentle breeze stirred her hair, and her plain white hair ribbon fluttered lightly, just like her—gentle and serene.
She could easily captivate hearts simply by sitting there quietly. The gaze she cast when she slightly raised her eyes was as gentle as a mountain stream.
Noticing his gaze, she tilted her head slightly, a look of confusion flashing in her eyes.
The stall owner smiled and placed the prepared noodles on their table.
He said, "The little girl is so pretty, why did she always wear a veil before?"
After he finished speaking, he thought of the situation outside, touched the girl's neck which was tightly wrapped in white gauze, and couldn't help but sigh.
He reached out and beckoned to Shi Yubai, who had just picked up his chopsticks to eat noodles, and said earnestly, "Young master, when you're out and about, you must protect your little sister, okay?"
Upon hearing his words, Shi Yubai paused in his hand holding the chopsticks.
He blinked hesitantly, and a question mark slowly appeared above his head.
Huh? Who will protect her? Me?
After the stall owner finished speaking to him, he didn't care about his attitude. Young people always care about their image when they're out in public.
He looked at Fu Yunyao across from him, his tone lowered, almost benevolent.
"The little girl has an injury to her neck, why is she wearing a white veil?"
Fu Yunyao chuckled and shook her head. "I have some birthmarks on my neck, which are quite frightening. To avoid startling others, I always wear a white veil."
Hearing her answer, the stall owner breathed a sigh of relief. He waved his hand and said, "What's scary? A girl as good as you should live in the sunshine. If others mock you because of your birthmark, then it's their fault."
"Mm," Fu Yunyao replied, a smile in her eyes.
Just then, someone came to the noodle stall and called out to them.
"Old Wu, a bowl of noodles, please!"
"Hey, I'm here," the stall owner replied, turning back to the pot of water.
Shi Yu took a bite of noodles, but his gaze unconsciously followed the stall owner's words and fell on the neck of the person in front of him.
He pursed his lips slightly, unable to resist asking, "When did you get a birthmark?"
Fu Yunyao lowered her eyes; the noodles in the bowl were still steaming.
She thought for a moment, then finally spoke, "I'll tell you when I have the chance."
Shi Yubai didn't expect a definite answer from her; at least she promised to talk to him, and that was enough.
He lowered his head, ready to continue eating his noodles, only to find that the broth in his bowl was almost gone.
Her beautiful eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at Xuan Kui, who was hiding in her sleeve, and she said in a low voice through gritted teeth.
"I shouldn't have let you out of the beast-taming bag!"
Xuan Kui didn't care about his threat at all, and happily swayed his dragon tail and patted Shi Yubai's wrist.
Shi Yubai was so angry he almost laughed, and he pressed his tongue against the soft flesh on the side of his cheek.
After finishing her meal, Fu Yunyao put down her chopsticks.
She glanced at Shi Yubai, who was still arguing with Xuan Kui, and said with a hint of amusement, "Let's go."
Shi Yubai gave a soft snort and got up anyway.
As he left, he seemed to see that Fu Yunyao had left something on the table.
As more and more people entered the noodle shop, the stall owner could only wave goodbye to them as they left.
"Old Wu, is this what those two left behind?"
A customer called out to him and handed him the food in his hand.
Under the bright spring sunshine, the jade slip in his hand shimmered with a luminous glow.
He subconsciously looked towards the departing crowd, but could no longer see the two outstanding individuals.
Shi Yubai followed behind Fu Yunyao and asked with some curiosity, "What did you leave for the noodle shop owner?"
“A jade slip,” Fu Yunyao replied casually.
"Jade slip?" Shi Yubai asked in surprise. After a moment, he realized, "You left him a trace of the Dust Sword Qi?"
Looking at the barrier at the city gate, Fu Yunyao said softly, "Hmm. After thinking about it, all I can give him is this sword energy that is still somewhat useful."
Shi Yubai fell silent for a moment. “Actually, you don’t need to do this. Let’s not even mention that you saved the people of Zhongzhou ten years ago. Just yesterday, you resolved a major hidden danger for them.”
Moreover, there's no need for people to calculate everything with each other.
Fu Yunyao turned her head to look at him, "You're wrong. Ten years ago, even without me, they wouldn't have lost. As for the Zhu Yu matter, with so many people from the Mo Family's organization and the Demon-Slaying Bureau, surely they could have resolved it. However..."
She paused, her eyebrows curving slightly.
"However, your last sentence seems to make some sense, and I will learn from it."
Shi Yubai stared blankly at her smiling eyes, then his own smile faded, and his voice became clear and cheerful.
"I hope you can really learn it."
...
After parting ways with Shi Yubai, Fu Yunyao once again went to the Boundless Sect.
The valley was still bursting with spring blossoms, butterflies fluttering about, and buds swaying gently in the wind, a scene brimming with life.
Standing at the familiar courtyard gate, Fu Yunyao didn't really know what she would do if she saw Fu Yusheng again.
A spring breeze brushed through her hair, and a butterfly landed on her fingertips, its fluttering wings seemingly imbued with a subtle, magical aura.
Unfortunately, Fu Yunyao, being a mortal, was unaware of these things.
The butterfly nuzzled her fingertip affectionately before flying away again.
Before Fu Yunyao could even land her finger on the door, the courtyard gate opened from the inside out.
The girl in yellow at the door saw her, her eyes lit up, and her cheerful voice echoed through the courtyard.
"Sister, what brings you here?"
Fu Yunyao raised her eyebrows slightly and replied with a smile, "I've come to find... your senior brother."
"Senior brother?" Jiang Wan's eyes flickered slightly. "But senior brother isn't in the sect."
"Isn't he/she here?" Fu Yunyao repeated very slowly.
Jiang Wanyin nodded, "Senior brother just went out three days ago, I don't know how long it will be before he comes back."
Fu Yunyao looked at the person who had been guarding the door the whole time and chuckled, "It's alright. If you don't mind, I can wait for him to come back here."
"Huh?" Jiang Wanyin was stunned, not expecting such a response.
"Wanyi, what are you doing at the door?"
A voice full of youthful spirit came from inside the courtyard.
Jiang Wan breathed a slight sigh of relief upon hearing the voice.
She turned slightly to the side to reply.
"Master, the young master of Yaotai Realm is here to see my senior brother."
Master?
Fu Yunyao looked at the handsome young man in the courtyard and remained silent.
Shen Mingxu brushed aside the stray hairs that had fallen on his forehead, revealing a pair of peach blossom eyes.
His eyes were filled with affection, and when he smiled, he exuded the unbridled exuberance of youth.
"Young Master Yao is looking for my disciple, but unfortunately, he just went out a few days ago and probably won't be back anytime soon. Young Master, you must be tired from your journey, why don't you return to Yaotai Realm to rest for a while?"
Fu Yunyao remained silent, her clear, cold eyes fixed on the boy in the courtyard, or more accurately, on his bright eyes.
"The past is past, there's no need to recall it."
The old monk's voice suddenly rang in her ears.
Fu Yunyao lowered her brows, the shadow of her eyelashes falling on her eyes.
The boy and the old monk were not alike at all; their appearances, figures, and eyes were completely different.
Only...
The expression in his eyes remained unchanged.
She chuckled softly.
Thinking of the Spring Return Sword, which was "accidentally" lost in the South China Sea, and then thinking of the Spring Return Sword now integrated into the bones of the Floating Jade Sword.
Sword energy rippled outwards from her, instantly shrouding the once vibrant valley in a chilling aura.
Ice flowers bloomed, twining around the branches and buds. All the surrounding spiritual energy condensed into ice particles, suspended in the air.
The icy, ethereal sword appeared beside her. Amidst the sword's aura, the hem of her pure white robe fluttered gently.
Shen Mingxu still had a smile on his lips, his amorous peach blossom eyes meeting hers.
The air seemed to freeze for a moment. Jiang Wanyi, who was standing closest to Fu Yunyao, had no doubt that if she wanted, this valley would be completely barren and desolate.
Fu Yunyao spoke, her voice very soft.
She said.
"You're lying to me."
There was no anger, no sadness.
She was simply stating her position quietly.
As the sword intent returned, the valley once again returned to its state of flourishing life.
Fu Yunyao retrieved the Rangchen Sword.
“Sister…” Jiang Wanyi called out to her hesitantly.
She didn't linger; she turned and left.
Jiang Wanyi watched her retreating figure, her brows furrowed slightly, and said to Shen Mingxu.
"Sister Yao seems a little sad."
Shen Mingxu suppressed his smile and gently shook his head.
Before Fu Yunyao walked out of the valley, a butterfly landed on her hair, its fluttering wings casting shimmering light.
Fu Yunyao didn't look up, so she didn't see the butterfly slowly disappear after she stepped out of the valley.
In the courtyard, Shen Mingxu rubbed his forehead helplessly and pushed open the door.
On the bed, the person who had been sleeping leaned against the edge of the bed, her beautiful face pale and colorless, appearing exceptionally weak.
He opened his hand, and a butterfly landed on his pale fingertip and gradually disappeared.
Seeing this, Shen Mingxu felt even more troubled.
"Fu Yusheng, do you think your spiritual veins haven't been destroyed thoroughly enough?"
As I told you, you can't use your spiritual power in your current condition.
Don't take your exceptional talent for granted and do whatever you want. If you continue like this, you'll die one day from a bursting spiritual vein!
Fu Yusheng withdrew his hand, coughed a few times, and said nonchalantly, "She's in a bad mood."
Shen Mingxu:...
He laughed angrily, "If you hadn't been so reckless as to go to the depths of the Northern Sea to retrieve that so-called Spirit Gathering Jade, and been injured by the souls of the dead there..."
Why would I appear before her to cover for you, even to the point of letting her find out…”
Fu Yu looked up at him. "Discovered something?"
Shen Mingxu closed his eyes to calm himself down. He realized that there was a barrier set up inside the room, and given Fu Yusheng's current situation, he wouldn't know what was happening outside.
"You're staying in your room for the next few days, and you're not allowed to go anywhere!"
He finished speaking with those words and turned to leave.
But Fu Yusheng stopped him, saying, "When we were in Qiushui Town, Liao Liao once said that someone could enter Yaotai Realm silently and leave a jade slip at the entrance of the forbidden area."
I was able to enter the Yaotai Realm because I had the tacit approval of Chenjian Dao.
But what about Jiang Wanyi and Song Anran?
Shen Mingxu frowned. "You suspect me?"
He cupped his hands around his heart, looking utterly heartbroken, and said, "Who have I been working for all day long, and you still doubt me!"
Fu Yusheng looked at him quietly, not forgetting to comment, "Not bad, this time the performance looked more realistic."
Shen Mingxu also put down his hand, patted off non-existent dust from the hem of his clothes, and left only one sentence.
"Why would a little kid like you need to know so much?"
Fu Yusheng was left alone in the room again, playing with the newly carved jade pendant in his hand.
Her light-colored, jade-like eyes were full of tenderness.

Author's Note: Waaaaah, I also want to see Liao Liao meet Yu Yu, but given the current situation, Liao Liao will definitely attack Yu Yu if he sees her, and it could easily end in a tragic ending. I can only be patient for now. [crying emoji]
Let's put on a little skit:
The grand competition of the cultivation world is halfway through, and under the organization of Jiang Wanyin and Shi Yubai, a bonfire was lit in the courtyard.
Under the warm moonlight, the scattered wine jars were empty.
Fu Yunyao held her wine bowl, listening to their conversation with a smile on her face.
A gentle breeze swept by, and she squinted, meeting the gaze of the white figure leaning against the courtyard gate.
Fu Yusheng arrived at some unknown time and did not speak. He leaned against the courtyard gate and looked at Fu Yunyao, who was clearly drunk in the courtyard. She shook her head. Although she was already drunk, she couldn't help but take a sip of the wine in her bowl.
When she looked up at him, her eyes were filled with tears from intoxication.
The breeze stopped, and Fu Yusheng walked up to her, bending slightly to look her in the eye, his eyes shimmering. "Drunk?"
Fu Yunyao shook her head, staring only at his face.
Which room is yours?
Fu Yunyao casually pointed and murmured, "Fu Yusheng."
"Yes, I'm here."
He responded, his fingertips resting on her hair.
