Chapter 1279 Dinner Party Murder Case (5)

The room was brightly lit at four in the morning, and people with unclear expressions stood beside a lifeless corpse, as if they were performing a terrible ritual.

Jasmine raised her head, tears still welling up in the corners of her eyes. She gritted her teeth and looked at Master Yang angrily.

"Master, I hope we can't let anyone leave here until we find out who the murderer is!"

Master Yang nodded immediately and said softly, "Of course, your reason is very reasonable. In that case, why don't you all tell us what you did before the incident?"

McCartney was the first to speak. He straightened his casual clothes, his cold eyes passing over the dull faces around him one by one:

"I worked out in the house after dinner. This is my usual habit. There should still be some sweaty clothes in the washing machine downstairs."

He paused, then continued, "After taking a shower, I went to bed, and then I was woken by the lady's screams."

His colleague Crocodile was quietly kicked by McCartney. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and his voice was a little sleepy:

"I, I've been sleeping the whole time. I've always had good sleep quality. If you hadn't knocked on the door, I would still be sleeping!"

The answers of the others were similar, almost all of them were sleeping.

The maid, unable to speak, stood alone. Doris, lying in bed, explained, "She stayed by my side the entire time. I couldn't sleep because of the pain from my wound."

Hongfu suddenly turned her head, glanced at Doris, and asked, "Did you hear any sound before that?"

Doris shook her head: "The rain outside the window was so loud that I couldn't hear anything. Sorry."

As the first eyewitness, Ah Mei nervously explained, "Ah Le drank a lot today, and then he asked me to get up and go to the bathroom with him. After I left, I saw a person lying in the living room. When I walked over, I found that he was dead..."

After saying this, Ah Mei covered her face with her hands, her voice still filled with fear: "It's horrible. This is the first time I've seen a dead person."

Li York handed her a glass of water: "You're welcome, have a drink!"

Mr. Jin seemed to have a professional disease. He scanned the faces of everyone in the room, observing their expressions and movements, trying to figure out who was lying.

"According to what everyone says," Master Yang said, "everyone was asleep, so Mr. Lu died inexplicably?"

"Impossible!" Jasmine stared at the obvious wound on the man's chest. This was clearly a homicide. "He was stabbed! The murderer might not have hidden the weapon yet. We can send someone upstairs to search. If anyone has a knife in their room, they're the murderer!"

"I have a question," McCartney said, leaning against the door, one hand in his trouser pocket, looking nothing like a police officer. "What if the person conducting the search is lying? Or is he the murderer, Miss Molly?"

Jasmine was stunned. She immediately understood McCartney's hidden meaning. This man was suggesting that she might be the murderer.

After all, the probability of a group of people who don’t know each other fighting each other is far less than that of an acquaintance committing a crime.

Suddenly, it became quiet and no one spoke, as if no one wanted to break the suffocating atmosphere.

"I, I woke up once at three o'clock. Then I looked down from the window and saw people." Hongfu still told the truth.

She is indeed a scheming person. In order to become famous, she planned the secret photos herself and made herself the most beautiful campus beauty.

But she had never done anything bad, and had never experienced such a murder.

In this high-pressure environment, all Hong Fu wanted to do was to tell everything and trust other people's judgment.

"What did you say?" Master Yang turned around. He seemed to realize that he had spoken too quickly, causing many people to be suspicious. "You mean, you saw someone outside the window? Maybe it was only her and me who opened the door."

Jasmine suddenly stood up, as if she had gone mad, and suddenly grabbed Master Yang by the collar:

"It must have been you! You invited us here just to kill us! You pervert!"

Master Yang faced the crazy Jasmine, but he was not panicked at all: "Ms. Jasmine, you know, life is not the novel you wrote. You should calm down."

"I certainly didn't go out," Master Yang raised his hands. "Look, I'm wearing the same clothes I wore to dinner. If, as Miss Hongfu said, I went out without an umbrella, my clothes would definitely be wet."

Hong Fu was stunned for a moment. She had indeed been led by Master Yang. Following his train of thought, it seemed that he was right.

"It seems that the only person who changed clothes was Officer McCartney." After Hong Fu said this, she covered her mouth in surprise.

Officer McCartney, whom she had named, turned around and sneered, "Didn't I explain that my clothes got wet from working out, so I changed them. Besides, I have no grudge against the deceased gentleman, and I'm a police officer. Why would I kill him?"

At this moment, the crocodile who had been dozing off next to McCartney suddenly opened his eyes wide with a strange expression.

Li York touched his chin, wondering what he was thinking about.

"Can I go to sleep now?" Ah Mei suddenly said, "Ah Le is sleepy. He can't be the murderer, right?"

Everyone seemed to have no objection, so the mother and son returned to their room first.

Mr. Jin seemed to be reminded by their conversation. He squatted beside Mr. Lu's body again and discovered more details.

"There are mud spots on his shoes and pants. I was just wondering if he brought them here." Mr. Jin touched the mud with his hand and continued, "It seems it hasn't completely solidified yet. It must have been there an hour ago."

Mr. Jin opened Fatty Lu's hand again and looked carefully at his nails. "Look, there are still spots of dirt under his nails. Miss Hongfu is right. Someone went out. And that person is actually Mr. Lu who was murdered."

At this point, Mr. Jin walked up to Master Yang and asked seriously, "Mr. Yang, do you have a spare key somewhere else in your house?"

Master Yang suddenly realized something and walked to the locker next to the main door. "Here is a spare key. It's convenient for me to take it with me when I go out."

When he opened the drawer, he found it was empty.
