"Jimmy, remember to change the promotional picture on the homepage." Jimmy had just sat down when he received a message from his boss.
"Okay, Sister Ling," Jimmy said as he entered the backstage area. "The new song on the promotional page right now is Jingcheng Xiaoye's. Do you really want to change it? He may be an online singer, but his songs are really popular!"
As the operator of Black Whale Music, Jimi has no special feelings for any of the singers. In his eyes, every song of these people is just a string of data.
Sister Ling walked over and knocked on his desk. "Put on Moonlight Girl's new song, 'One is Like Summer, the Other is Like Autumn.' You haven't checked the backend data yet, have you? It's only been nine hours since it was released, and already it's had over 100,000 comments, over 100,000 shares, and it's the most played song of the day."
Jimmy really didn't know, but after hearing this series of results, he was even more excited than Sister Ling.
"I didn't know it was doing so well! Sister Ling, wait for me! I'll go change the flyer! It's a free song, what a shame! Otherwise, it might have made it into the top ten of this year's singles sales chart."
"Isn't there a free list? Maybe that's their goal." After Sister Ling left, a colleague of Jimmy's in the front row turned around and said.
"Top ten on the free charts? That's incredibly difficult! Moonlight Girl's most popular song, 'Boy,' is currently expected to be around 30 on the annual charts."
"How do we calculate our annual chart?" another colleague who was in charge of negotiating with musicians asked curiously. She could never remember the rule.
"For the overall chart, it's a combination of single play counts, MV hits, single sales, and play counts from local radio stations we partner with. If it's a free chart, just remove the sales component.
Generally speaking, the songs that top the charts are mostly free songs, because they have far more plays than paid singles."
Jimmy spoke eloquently about data, but his colleague seemed completely bewildered and nodded in confusion, not sure if he understood.
After hanging up the promotional poster, Jimmy received another message from Sister Ling:
"Quick, change the pop-up recommendations and post the trailer. The official music video for 'One Like Summer, One Like Autumn' will be released at 12 o'clock today!"
"Is this the first time Moonlight Girl has released a MV?" Jimmy's expression finally became lively. He couldn't wait to see where this new song would end up.
At this time, four girls were standing on the playground, holding the lines given to them by Zhou Yiyang.
"I thought the MV was just us lip-syncing and showing some beautiful PPTs, but it turns out we have to memorize the lines!" Wang Xingrui looked deceived. She looked at the densely packed lines and had a headache.
"If you were female singers from the 1980s, there would be no problem shooting like this." Zhou Yiyang took action personally this time, caressing the camera lovingly, and was looking forward to the next shooting session.
When he turned his head, he could see Jiang Xiaoliang and his crew filming on the other side.
According to the current progress, the filming should be completed by the end of this month, and then the intensive promotion phase will begin.
If we're lucky, it could be released as a Lunar New Year movie at the end of the year.
"Brother Yang, why don't you go to the Spring Festival movie season?" When Hu Die was putting on makeup for them, she heard Zhou Yiyang and Bai Yangyu talking about this and asked curiously.
"The Spring Festival period is too crowded, and to get a spot during the Spring Festival, you have to work with the theater chains to get a screening. For a youth campus film like ours, the screening rate might only be 1%. It's better to go for the relatively quiet Lunar New Year period!"
Bai Yangyu smiled and nodded, saying, "Boss Zhou is right. Small-budget films like ours shouldn't join the Spring Festival schedule."
"Brother Yang," Su Yin's voice interrupted Zhou Yiyang's thoughts: "Can we start now?"
"Are you all ready?" Zhou Yiyang asked.
"Yeah." Tang Yue, wearing a blue and white school uniform and a high ponytail, looked like the big sister in a Japanese school movie. "We're going to shoot a lot of different versions, so let's just shoot the first one first!"
"Okay." Zhou Yiyang gestured to them, and the four of them left the camera.
The first shot is of a clear blue sky.
Su Yin's facial features suddenly filled the entire screen.
Only someone as beautiful as her could withstand Zhou Yiyang's shooting at such a deadly angle.
"Old Zhou, am I beautiful?" Su Yin was also wearing a blue and white school uniform, with a pair of small leather shoes that showed through her white socks. She put her hands behind her back and smiled brightly.
"Old Zhou, you're biased. You only care about taking pictures of our little Su." Tang Yue suddenly ran into the camera and hugged Su Yin. She turned her head and gestured "yes" to the camera!
"Teacher Zhou," Lin Xuan'er said, trotting over, her school uniform in her hands. "The group photo is over. Can we disband now?"
Lin Xuaner, with short hair, wears almost no makeup and now looks like a tomboy.
But as soon as she came over, Su Yin grabbed her and said, "Class monitor, we've never taken a photo together alone!"
Lin Xuan'er was squeezed in between Su Yin and Tang Yue. Facing the teacher's camera, she managed a bewildered smile, "But this isn't a photo of just the two of us..."
Tang Yue seemed not to understand her hidden meaning and tugged at Xuan'er's clothes: "Class monitor, where's Ruirui? The four of us must take a photo together!"
"Ruirui?" Lin Xuan'er scratched her head. "She went upstairs after taking the group photo. She must be reviewing!"
