Chapter 172 Audition (Part 2)

"Eleven people, very good." The staff counted the number of people and then said, "I have your list in my hand. When your name is called, go in."

After a while, another staff member came out and continued to say to the 11 actors standing there, "The scene you will be rehearsing is the scene where the witch Nightingale is injured and takes shelter from the rain in the mountain temple with Jinglong. You have ten minutes to prepare."

Tang Yue closed her eyes. She remembered this scene.

This is the beginning of the story - when Mu Yun and Jing Long were fighting, the witch Nightingale appeared.

She and Mu Yun had a grudge against each other, and when she appeared, Mu Yun indeed shifted the target of his attack to her.

However, Mu Yun was no match for four people with his two fists. Although he seriously injured the witch Nightingale, he also let Jinglong and Nightingale escape.

In fact, this was also the first time Nightingale and Jinglong met.

The two fled in silence all the way, and when a rainstorm hit, they were forced to hide in a remote mountain temple.

The scene they were auditioning for was the story that happened after they hid from the rain.

It is a conversation between Nightingale and Jinglong.

Inside the room, the director adjusted his glasses and said with a smile, "Our screenwriter Song is truly amazing. He chose a literary scene. This scene may seem simple, but it actually tests the actors' interpretation of the role."

Screenwriter Song is a young man in his early thirties, a top student in the Chinese Department of Beijing University. His adaptations have all become huge hits, driving his value skyrocketing.

"If an actor doesn't even understand her own role correctly, I think she is not suitable for the role at all." Screenwriter Song said seriously.

The investor was just there to make up the numbers; he trusted the director and screenwriter's judgment. He then jokingly asked, "So, screenwriter Song, who do you think is more promising among these 11 actors?"

Before screenwriter Song could speak, the director had already finished speaking: "Mr. Wang, whether this is suitable or not depends on their performance. What can you tell just by looking at a name?"

The investor pursed his lips. "There must be actors here that everyone recognizes, right? You two must have some expectations of their abilities."

Screenwriter Song twirled the pen in his hand before continuing, "Then let's choose Hu Ling. I've seen the TV series she starred in, and she's quite talented. The others are either too old or newcomers I haven't heard of. But like our director said, there's no point in saying anything before we see their official performances."

Outside the room.

As the first group of actors to audition, these 11 people obviously received the most attention.

Among them are many young women like Hu Ling, who are in their thirties.

In the eyes of many people, Hu Ling should be the best candidate for the Witch Nightingale, and the other actors are obviously just there to play the role.

"Luckily, Hu Ling chose Nightingale, but I also think she's a perfect fit for the role. Wasn't the shrewd little princess she played before also a similar role?"

"I also think the best performer in this group should be Hu Ling? But no one can be sure. Have you forgotten that there are also the two people in the Moonlight Girl group? I always feel that they are probably not simple?"

"No way, what acting skills do these popular stars have? Did you get some illusion after watching their trailers? You have to know that the trailers contain the most exciting parts of the whole movie!"

"Not really. I don't have any illusions about their acting skills. I simply think they might have a complicated relationship with the crew. Maybe they're relatives or friends?"

"If the person chosen in the end is one of them, I will withdraw from the audition immediately. How can this be fair?"

Lin Xuan'er sat next to Tang Yue, unable to concentrate on the script. She had actually thought about how to perform every scene in the script. But when it came time to perform, her mind went blank.

She didn't know what to do.

"Xuan'er," Tang Yue finally recovered from her nap with her eyes tightly closed. "You made a huge breakthrough in 'Moonlight Girl'. I think your performance as Chen Jing was exceptional. So you must have confidence in your acting skills."

Lin Xuan'er nodded and said sheepishly, "I think you've finally figured out what I'm thinking. I actually think this role suits you better. I'm just here for a passing moment."

"Don't think that," Tang Yue interrupted Lin Xuan'er. "There's no such thing as suitability. In the end, it all comes down to performance. At this point, we're both friends and rivals. Xuan'er, I know you'll give it your all."

Ten minutes passed in a flash.

"First, Lin Xuan'er."

Unexpectedly, the first person called was Lin Xuaner.

"Come on!" Tang Yue whispered in her ear.

Lin Xuan'er stood there with a blank mind. She pushed the door open and walked into the room purely subconsciously.

After entering the room, she saw three serious examiners sitting behind the desk.

The director sitting in the middle nodded at her and said without a word: "Let's get started!"

A boy came up. He was a temporary supporting actor, playing the role of Jinglong.

"Why you?" Jinglong took off his rain-soaked coat and looked at Nightingale.

The witch Nightingale is well-known in the martial arts world. She is also a legendary female devil who kills without blinking an eye. Why did she come to save me?

Lin Xuan'er clutched her chest, a look of embarrassment on her face, clearly playing the role of a wounded person. "Contract."
