Chapter 30 Am I the Back Wave?

Mission accomplished!

Two hours after the show ended, the main mission was finally completed.

Zhou Yiyang breathed a sigh of relief. He no longer expected any additional tasks. It was not easy to have 5,000 active fans.

Sure enough, the software added the teaching video and stage performance of "Play Me Pah".

However, during the competition, the songs performed by the contestants were arranged by the program team, and this song is not used for the time being.

After turning off the video, Lin Xuaner glanced at her Weibo and was even more surprised to find that she had also exceeded 100,000 followers.

She knew she was getting closer and closer to realizing her dream.

While feeling happy, Lin Xuan'er's eyes fell on the empty bed next door.

"Rui Rui hasn't come back yet?"

When Tang Yue saw Lin Xuaner standing at the dormitory door, her expression became anxious.

"Could Ruirui have gone to the practice room by herself? She has always been very hardworking." Su Yin, who rushed over, was also very worried. The relationship between the four of them was no longer just teammates, but more like sisters.

"I checked." Lin Xuan'er wiped the sweat from her forehead. "No one was there. I don't know where she went. She didn't even answer the phone!"

"Should I tell the staff?" Tang Yue fiddled with her pockets impatiently.

"Let's leave it at that for now. She should still be at the base. Perhaps she wants to find someplace quiet." Lin Xuan'er sighed. "You two should go back and rest first. I'll look for her."

Tang Yue and Su Yin knew that staying here wouldn't accomplish anything except sighing with Lin Xuan'er, so they returned to their respective dormitories.

Ruirui, where are you going? You should be happy today, right?

Lin Xuan'er stood dejectedly in the corridor, and finally called Zhou Yiyang.

Zhou Yiyang was lying in bed when he received the call.

After hearing Lin Xuaner's words, Zhou Yiyang jumped up and stood on the bed.

"Why did she disappear?" Zhou Yiyang frowned at first, then asked, "What did she do when she left for the last time?"

"He went out to answer the phone. I guess it was someone at home calling."

"Well, then you go back first. You also said that she must be at the base and should be fine. Just wait for her to come back by herself. If she hasn't come back after twelve o'clock, tell the staff." Zhou Yiyang thought about it. These girls didn't know, but he knew a little about Wang Xingrui's family.

She grew up in the countryside, dropped out of high school, and her family conditions were probably the worst among the four girls.

Could it be that someone at home called her and said something?

The moon in May is not as round, and the heat in the air makes the cicadas' chirping weak.

Wang Xingrui was lying on the runway, and the powerful voice in the video came to her ears:

"Many people enter their forties in childhood, unconfused about what they like and dislike... You have the right to choose, and what you love is your life..."

"Bullshit!" Wang Xingrui laughed. She couldn't laugh as heartily as Su Yin.

Two hours ago, Wang Xingrui received a call.

From her mother.

"He's on TV, he's successful!" There was a lot of noise coming from the phone, and Wang Xingrui heard several uncles saying compliments to her father.

"You must be making a lot of money now, why do you put it all in your own pocket?" said the mother reproachfully.

"I sent you living expenses this month." Wang Xingrui smiled bitterly. She thought her mother came to congratulate her, but it turned out that she was overthinking.

"That little bit of money is nothing! You're not a big star anymore, how can you forget your roots? I raised you with all my heart and soul, so it's only natural that you give us money!"

Wang Xingrui interrupted the other party: "How much do you want?"

"Well, let's just give it 10,000 for now! Your brother will be in junior high school next year, and we want to send him to the city, and the school selection fee will be 10,000! And your uncles are short on money too. After all, they are your elders who have watched you grow up, so helping them is a must!"

Ten thousand?

"How can I afford that kind of money?" Wang Xingrui's hand trembled as she gripped her phone, her expression tinged with anger. "My brother's grades aren't even as good as mine. He should just work out like me. Going to school in the city is a waste of money! As for my uncles, they've never been nice to me. They didn't even give me New Year's money!"

"How can you, a girl, be so cruel? How can you be the same as your brother? How can he get married if he doesn't study? There's no point in studying for girls! As for your uncles, they are your elders, how can you talk nonsense! I think you are obsessed with money! How could I raise such a selfish girl like you! Hurry up and send the money. If you don't, I will tell the media. Isn't that what you celebrities fear the most?"

After hanging up the phone, Wang Xingrui slowly squatted down.

She was so radiant on TV, but now she seemed like a plant that could only grow in the dark.

In the videos she randomly clicked on, the "younger generation" were full of vigor and vitality. They used learning tools worth tens of thousands of dollars, had hobbies that cost a lot of money, traveled abroad, skydived and bungee jumped, and their lives were positive and interesting.

What about her?

She was born in a remote village in the southwest. She had never used a tablet or flown on a plane. After she dropped out of school, the thing she thought about most was not what her hobbies were, but where her rent would come from.

She is not the next wave, she is a duckweed that can be destroyed by the waves at any time.

She also wanted the right to choose. She knew Lin Xuan'er had chosen this path, but if she failed, she still had a way out! But Wang Xingrui didn't have that. She never had the capital to make mistakes.

She envied Tang Yue for her glamorous life, and Su Yin for her innocent life with no one forcing her to grow up.

Maybe she is the villain who denies and ridicules?

Some people live in the sunshine, but there are definitely people who have never seen the sunshine.

"I also want to live recklessly!"

"Ten thousand yuan, where can I find ten thousand yuan! Go find the media, go ahead, I'm done! Working in a store, marrying someone I met on a blind date, having kids, and emptying six wallets for a wedding house, that's my life!"

The phone rang again, interrupting Wang Xingrui's complaints.

She glanced at the screen and saw that the caller was Zhou Yiyang.

Obviously Zhou Yiyang was the person whose living environment was most different from hers, but Wang Xingrui had a hunch that he was the person who could understand her the most.

"Hurry up, answer the phone!" Zhou Yiyang said anxiously.

"Hello, Brother Yang." Wang Xingrui's tired voice came out.

Zhou Yiyang breathed a sigh of relief and just answered the phone.

"Congratulations! You've made it into Class A and your Weibo followers are almost 100,000."

"Yeah." Wang Xingrui felt a lump in her throat.

"I'm on the balcony. Now that your clothes are gone, the balcony is much more spacious. When I look up, I can see the moon and stars, just like you see them. We are under the same sky!"

"Brother Yang, I, I'm so tired!"
