The first page is from Zhou Yiyang's short film "Vanity Fair Murders." Behind the deceased Wen Yuan stand five suspects. Each of them is dressed in black, with a small white flower pinned to their chest, making them look like they're attending a funeral. Yet, each of their faces is split in two: sadness on the left and smiles on the right.
The poster on the second page is from "Twins", one of the co-productions.
Su Yin, dressed in a Lolita dress, looked like a doll. She stood in front of the mirror, and saw the same face in both of them, but their expressions were completely different.
One is sad, the other is crazy.
Each page is a movie poster.
The camera in the live broadcast room also knew what the audience wanted to see and showed them every page of the poster.
Although they had never heard of most of the movies here, and didn't even know any of the directors or actors, these textured posters were indeed very attractive.
"Is 'Sunny' the movie that Mr. Zhou made? Is he also participating in the exhibition?"
"I'm definitely going to watch this one, and also 'One Kilometer'. The poster has a sense of loneliness, so I think it's going to be great!"
"I didn't expect that besides art films, there are horror films, science fiction films, and even animations. The genres are so diverse!"
"Yeah, I always thought this film festival was just for the hipsters. I feel like I've missed out on a lot of great movies!"
"Thanks, Mr. Zhou, for letting us meet so many new people!"
At some point, Zhou Yiyang had already walked from the audience to the front of the stage.
Tang Yue whispered quickly into Lin Xuan'er's ear, "I remember Brother Yang told us that today is the opening ceremony, and the next two days are the exhibition. So can we watch all the movies in the brochure?"
"I think," Lin Xuan'er said seriously, "we'll probably just attend today's opening ceremony. Brother Yang will probably let us go back for rehearsals over the next two days."
"Oh, yeah," Su Yin sighed, "I thought I could stay here and watch a movie!"
Luo Chen laughed so hard that he held his stomach. "Any of us actors, unless we're invited to serve on the jury, will be leaving tonight. The jury will watch all the films in the exhibition for the next two days, and then on the third day, they will select all the awards from these films."
"Will there be a live broadcast tomorrow and the day after tomorrow?" Wang Xingrui asked, scratching his head.
"Of course not," Ling Hu answered her. "We'll just broadcast it live today. The opening ceremony should be a way for everyone to get to know the film festival! There are no limits. I've always believed that film is open to everyone. Today, we have fresh-faced directors, world-renowned masters, rising A-list stars, and dedicated veterans. Everyone can be the protagonist!
This year, we received entries from 106 directors, from which we selected ten films to be presented at the exhibition. Over the next two days, the jury will watch these ten films and select the various awards for this year's First.
