Are you blind?!
"Such a great figure! You call it a chicken foot? Have you ever seen such a well-shaped chicken foot?"
Xia Nuan rolled her eyes at Li Dongyang.
"Aren't men's bodies meant to be seen by women?"
"I said it's a chicken foot, so it's a chicken foot."
I can't be bothered with you.
Li Dongyang finished his weightlifting routine.
He glanced back at Xia Nuan and said sheepishly, "Would it kill you to tell the truth?"
"We're not from the same world."
"Knowing there's a gap between us means you still have room for improvement," Xia Nuan said calmly, without a trace of emotion.
"Has anyone ever told you that you're annoying?" Li Dongyang asked.
Xia Nuan wasn't angry when she heard Li Dongyang's words. "There are plenty of people who hate me, it doesn't matter if you're one more."
Oh my god!
Li Dongyang had never seen such a shameless person.
"You're something else, I can't argue with you, so I'll just stop talking to you, okay?" Li Dongyang decided not to stoop to this woman's level.
There was a lump in my throat, I couldn't breathe, and I couldn't exhale.
If this continues, I'll be driven crazy by this woman sooner or later.
Just when everyone thought their conversation was over, Xia Nuan suddenly said, "No."
"Unless I want to."
Li Dongyang took a deep breath.
"Fine, fine, do whatever you want."
Just as the two were getting carried away, his phone suddenly rang.
Xia Nuan frowned when she saw Li Dongyang's phone ring.
She glared at Li Dongyang, then turned and went back to her room.
Li Dongyang picked up his phone; he had almost forgotten that his mother had said she was going to visit him while she was away on a business trip.
As soon as the call connected, I heard a gentle and kind voice on the other end, "Dongyang, you'll be at the station in half an hour. Go to the supermarket and buy a pig's trotter and some vegetables. Mom will cook your favorite braised pig's trotter for dinner tonight."
“I transferred 500 to you. If it’s not enough, just tell Mom.” A feeling of happiness welled up in Li Dongyang’s heart.
She quickly said, "Mom, you've already had a long and tiring journey, and now you have to cook. How about we go out for dinner tonight?"
“You can eat out anytime, be good. If you don’t want to go, Mom will go to the supermarket by herself when we get there.” Xiao Qianwen knew her son too well; she guessed he was tired from work and didn’t want to go.
"Okay, I'm not talking to you anymore, my phone is almost out of battery."
"Hey Mom, I'm going to buy it. You can just come up here later."
Li Dongyang didn't not want to eat the food his mother cooked.
He felt sorry for his mother, who had traveled such a long way and still had to cook for him after arriving.
"Okay, go buy it, just buy whatever you like to eat."
After hanging up the phone, Li Dongyang went back to his room, changed his clothes, and went downstairs.
Now he's not worried about anything except that Xia Nuan might say something unpleasant in front of his mother.
I doubt she'd listen to me.
Now all he can do is beg this woman not to say anything out of line.
Li Dongyang went downstairs to the supermarket and bought a pig's trotter, followed by some potatoes, eggplants, cauliflower, and green vegetables. Except for the pig's trotter, the vegetables he bought were all his mother's favorites.
Li Dongyang bought all the foods his mother liked to eat.
After browsing around, I chose three bottles of Coke and three cans of beer.
About fifteen minutes later, a bus slowly pulled up in front of the residential compound where Li Dongyang lived.
A middle-aged woman wearing a shirt and a pencil skirt got off the car.
The woman pinned her hair up in a bun, opened the door next to the bus, pulled out her luggage, and walked towards the gate.
After browsing around the supermarket, Li Dongyang happily went upstairs with a plastic bag in each hand.
He was dumbfounded when he pushed open the door.
The mother sat on the sofa, holding a glass of warm water in her hands, her face beaming with smiles.
"mom?"
"Didn't you say it would take another half hour?" Li Dongyang said to his mother while changing his slippers.
When Xiao Qianwen saw her son return, she couldn't stop smiling and said, "The driver dropped me off here on his way, so I saved money on a taxi."
"Son, is this the girl you told me and your dad about?"
"She's really beautiful and very friendly."
Li Dongyang placed the dishes on the dining table and turned around to see Xia Nuan washing fruit in the kitchen.
If he remembered correctly, this was the first time this woman had ever entered the kitchen to wash fruit since he came here!
Before she could finish speaking, Xia Nuan interrupted her as she came out of the kitchen.
"Auntie, here, this is some fruit I washed for you, please try it."
Xiao Qianwen took the fruit plate from Xia Nuan and smiled with her eyes crinkling.
He thought to himself, "It's really a stroke of good luck that my son found such a sensible and hardworking girlfriend."
"Come on, Nuannuan, come and sit down."
"Let Dongyang take care of the rest. You come and chat with your aunt."
"Okay, I'll do whatever Auntie says!"
Li Dongyang stood in front of the dining table, completely stunned.
This woman truly deserves to be called an actress.
That acting is absolutely top-notch.
"Dongyang, the red bag on the table is a local specialty I brought from my hometown. Wash it and give it to Nuannuan to eat."
These two women must be meeting for the first time. They keep talking about Nuan Nuan, it's like they're talking about Nuan Nuan all the time. Who is their real daughter?
"And on the other side, there are some pickled vegetables that I brought for you. I pressed them myself. I brought you two packs. They're delicious with porridge in the morning."
Following his mother's directions, Li Dongyang rummaged through his bag and found two packets of pickled vegetables.
She personally chopped and squeezed out the water from all of these pickled mustard greens.
The seasoning is homemade and contains no preservatives.
