[My writing is not very good, so please forgive me. Just treat it as a story I tell.]
I have been in jail before, but it was not an unjust case. After all, what I did was really too extreme.
….
That day, I limped to the Public Security Bureau. I was already familiar with the roads here, so I raised my hand and pushed open a door.
"What's up? The hero is here. Come and sit down for a while." Captain Wu said with a smile.
I calmly threw the small box in my hand heavily onto the table, then slowly put my hands together, looking like I was waiting for my punishment.
"...I did it." I whispered.
After Captain Wu opened the box, a hint of shock flashed across his face. He stared at the contents of the box...then he sighed heavily, his eyes full of regret.
….
My name is Lin Yu. I started school a little late, so I am only twenty years old this year. I am 1.75 meters tall. Although I am not particularly handsome, I have a pretty face... I look harmless. Playing basketball and fighting with others for a long time have made me quite strong.
My destiny underwent a drastic change in the last few months of this year after I met some people and experienced some things.
Some people have been entangled with me for half my life, and even now... there is still a deep entanglement between us.
But I don’t regret it. After all, there are too many things to regret, so many that I can’t regret them all... I’m just too lazy to regret it.
And the beginning of all this, looking closely...
I had just finished my high school career, but my heart was filled with regrets... After the college entrance examination, a misunderstanding was like a bolt from the blue, and it caused me to part ways with my girlfriend who I had been dating for more than two years.
Looking back on those two years, every moment was filled with sweetness and laughter… We once snuggled up together in the hidden corners of the campus, and we once walked hand in hand through every changing landscape of the seasons… But now, all of this has turned into sharp thorns, and every time I think of it, it hurts my heart.
During that summer vacation, I practically shut myself away at home. Every day, clutching my phone, I called her over and over again, my ear pressed against the receiver, desperately hoping to hear that familiar voice again. I wished so much that this was all just a horrible nightmare...that when I woke up, we'd be back together, as sweet as ever.
However, one day, when the cold voice "The number you dialed is powered off" came from the receiver... At that moment, my heart seemed to be instantly dug a hole by an invisible big hand, and the biting cold wind rushed in... My whole heart was empty, and the pain was so severe that I couldn't help but gasp, and my body trembled slightly.
From then on, I became completely confused and the whole world seemed to have lost its original color...as if everything was shrouded in a layer of gray fog.
But before I could even struggle out of the painful quagmire of a broken heart… Since I didn’t pass the entrance exam, my family used their connections to arrange for me to go to university in an unfamiliar city…
"I'm not going! It's my own fault that I didn't get into the ideal school. I can just go to work. Why should I waste money on college?"
"I spent so much money to find a school for you, and now you don't have to go!" When my father heard this, he was furious. He kicked me hard, and I staggered and almost fell to the ground.
"Oh my god!" Helplessly, I could only grit my teeth and compromise.
And so, with a broken heart, I reluctantly bid farewell to my familiar hometown, looking back every few steps. With heavy steps, I embarked on the road to study in that unfamiliar city.
I secretly wondered in my heart, wondering if in that completely unfamiliar place... I could slowly heal my broken heart.
As soon as I stepped into the station of this strange city, the crowd surged like a surging tide, and the surrounding noise was extremely loud.
I was involuntarily swept up in this crowd and rushed towards the elevator.
My goodness, the elevator was completely packed with people. Everyone was carrying bags, and it was almost impossible to squeeze in.
I dragged my heavy suitcase with great effort, bumping into the crowd and finally reaching the street after a lot of hardship. I raised my hand and waved vigorously, hailing a taxi.
The car started slowly, then sped along, shuttling back and forth through the bustling city with its throngs of cars and flashing neon lights...
The tall buildings and bustling hustle and bustle along the way were gradually left behind, and the scenery in front of us slowly became wider, with a bit of rustic atmosphere... Finally, the car stopped steadily in a slightly remote area.
There is a kind of leisurely charm unique to small towns here. Before I had time to take a closer look, the eye-catching sign of "XX University" at the school gate caught my eye... In an instant, a depressed mood quickly gathered in my heart like a huge dark cloud, and I was full of resistance to this remote school location.
But the next second, my eyes accidentally swept across the young and beautiful girls coming and going at the school gate...
Some of them were in groups of three or two, laughing and playing all the way... Some of them were quietly holding books, walking slowly with leisurely steps... Their beautiful faces and light and agile postures made my heart move suddenly, and the corners of my mouth unconsciously rose slightly, and the previous depression disappeared in an instant.
"Hey young man, here it is, forty-six yuan." The driver's words brought me back to my senses.
I quickly reached into my pocket and pulled out a fifty-yuan note. Without hesitation, I handed it to the master and said generously, "Master, no need for change."
