After she finished her shower, she put on her clothes, ran to the bed, and quickly got under the quilt. She frowned and said, "It smells like cigarettes. You should go take a shower too."
I replied "Oh" and turned into the bathroom.
When I came out of the shower, I looked around and said to Lin Mengxi on the bed, "Give me a pillow. I'll just sleep on the sofa."
Lin Mengxi said "Oh" softly, raised her hand, picked up a pillow and threw it at me.
After I caught the pillow, I walked over to the sofa and lay down, hugging the pillow and using it as my head, adjusting myself into a fairly comfortable position.
At this time, Lin Mengxi opened her big eyes, blinking at me, with a serious look in her eyes, and said softly: "Thank you for accompanying me!"
I was stunned for a moment, a little surprised, and couldn't help but exclaim "Ah", and replied with a puzzled look on my face: "What's wrong? This doesn't make sense." I was still wondering why she suddenly said such a thank you.
She tilted her head, and after a long moment, she spoke, pouting and mumbling, "To be honest, I haven't had much freedom since I was little. Other kids can run around the streets, but I can only stay in my little yard at home, playing by myself every day."
She waved her hand casually in the air and continued complaining, "You don't know, I went to elementary school, junior high school, and high school all the way near home. My parents kept a close eye on me! They told me not to do this, not to touch that. If I had any small ideas, they would suppress them."
"I finally got into a university far from home, but they weren't happy about it and kept pushing me to study abroad. I refused to give in and insisted on coming here. I'm stubborn by nature, and once I've made up my mind, nothing can change it. Coming here finally gives me a taste of freedom. I can do whatever I want."
"So that's how it is." I nodded, suddenly realizing.
"Then why are you thanking me?" he asked again with some confusion.
"Thank you for your help on the first day of school, and for everything that happened during this period, and for the song "Little Lucky" that I sang this afternoon. Thank you for accompanying me shopping, my first male friend."
"Can't Xu Qian also go shopping with you?"
"That's different, and they have their own things to do, okay?"
"All right."
I lay on the sofa, but couldn't find a comfortable sleeping position, so I tossed and turned.
When I first got into this position, I felt a little more comfortable at first, but after a while, the narrow space of the sofa started to "make trouble", squeezing my hands and feet so hard that it hurt, and soon my legs became numb and I lost all feeling.
Lin Mengxi was originally half leaning on the bed playing with her mobile phone. She caught a glimpse of my miserable appearance from the corner of her eye and couldn't help but burst out laughing.
She sat up straight, raised her hand and patted the empty space beside the bed, raised her chin at me and said, "Come up, you look so uncomfortable."
I waved my hands repeatedly and stumbled back, "That...that's not good."
She rolled her eyes at me, crossed her arms, and feigned anger. "I don't care, but you, a grown man, are making a fuss about it. Besides, I told you to sleep on that side of the bed. Just use a pillow to mark the middle. The quilt is big enough for both of us, and you won't be cold."
I still looked embarrassed and stood there without moving.
Seeing my shy look, she said angrily, "Forget it!"
“Don’t!”
He climbed onto the bed using his hands and feet, moved properly to his own side, and even used a pillow to separate the two sides.
I climbed onto the bed nervously and lay down next to the pillow. Lin Mengxi blinked her big eyes and stared at me without saying a word.
After being stared at by her for a long time, I felt uneasy and said, "Sister, I am a normal man!"
She seemed to be surprised by what I would say. She was stunned for a moment, then lowered her eyes and asked in a low voice, "Do you think I'm childish?"
"A little bit."
She sighed softly and said slowly, "Actually, I used to really dislike communicating with people. I was like a taciturn person at school all day. My classmates said I was precocious, but that's not the case at all. I was just too suppressed by my parents. They didn't allow me to participate in any group activities organized by my classmates."
"You're fine the way you are now."
Her eyes lit up and the corners of her mouth curled up: "Now, can I be considered to have freed myself? And I just happened to meet you!"
I smiled at her and said with emotion: "Being with you, I feel my mentality has improved a lot!"
As a result, she suddenly said a few words.
"Are you really in love with me?"
"I heard from Zhu Wei that you cried so hard this afternoon."
"I barely ate a few bites of food and went home to hide under the covers and cry."
As soon as I said this, I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
When she heard my laughter, she became furious and suddenly pulled back the quilt. Her expression scared me.
Then, she stretched out her hands and pinched my face without saying anything. Her eyes widened and she said angrily, "What do you mean! You are laughing! Stop laughing and answer me!"
I was pinched so hard that it hurt. I struggled and begged for mercy: "It's okay, it's okay, sister, it hurts, please let me go."
She snorted coldly and released his hand, but she still refused to give in. She crossed her arms and said with a stern face, "Answer my question! Don't try to get away with it."
I rubbed my face, which was pinched red, helplessly, looked at her serious look, hesitated for a moment, and muttered, "Maybe..." But in my heart I was thinking, why is this girl so difficult to deal with? But I didn't dare to say it out loud, so I could only bite the bullet and agree with it.
