The next morning, the sun shone through the gaps in the curtains, casting a few rays of light.
Lin Mengxi slowly woke up, opened her eyes and saw herself in my arms. She was stunned at first, then her face flushed red. She struggled to break free, raised her hand and hit me on the shoulder, shouting angrily: "You bastard, how dare you take advantage of me so early in the morning!"
I was still half-dazed, but her punch and yell instantly woke me up. I hurriedly shook my nearly numb arm and explained with a bitter face, "Sister, I really didn't do that! You came over here while you were sleeping last night. You pressed on my arm for most of the night. I didn't dare move it for fear of waking you. It's numb now and I can't feel it at all."
After hearing this, her fiery eyes softened immediately, and the anger dissipated completely. Her gaze fell on my still slightly trembling arm, her eyes full of concern, and she asked softly, "Are you okay? Do you want to go to the hospital?"
I waved my hands repeatedly, forced a soothing smile on my face, and quickly said, "No, no, just take it easy. It will be fine in a while. It's not that serious."
Her eyes were full of tenderness as she looked at me quietly. I met her gaze and looked at her gentle and lovely appearance. An indescribable impulse suddenly surged in my heart, as if a small flame was "sizzling" up in my heart.
I quickly turned my head away, coughed lightly, and said, "Don't look at me like that. It's so early in the morning. If you keep going like that, your blood pressure will be high."
When she heard this, she was stunned at first, then burst out laughing, laughing so hard that she fell backwards. It took her a long time to recover. She tilted her head and jokingly said with curiosity, "Where is your blood pressure high? How come I didn't notice it?"
I was so helpless by her question that I didn't know how to respond for a moment, so I simply shut my mouth and stopped talking. But in my heart I was secretly regretting why I blurted out that sentence just now.
Lin Mengxi stretched, slowly got up from the bed, and walked towards the bathroom in her slippers. After entering, she heard the sounds of washing and tidying up.
Seeing this, I got out of bed quietly, walked carefully to the door, gently grasped the doorknob, turned it slowly, trying not to make any noise, then slowly closed the door and breathed a sigh of relief.
After I got outside, I couldn't wait to take out a cigarette from my pocket, took out my lighter, and lit it with a "click". I took a deep breath. The familiar taste spread in my mouth, went down my throat and into my lungs. I felt comfortable all over. I muttered unconsciously, "So satisfying."
"I have to do this less often in the future. I've been holding it in all night and I feel like I'm almost like a monk, with no desires or requests."
"Even the abbot who comes here has to say, 'What a good seedling!'"
I put out the cigarette, turned around and walked back into the house. At a glance, I saw the big and small bags on the table, which were all stuffed full.
My eyes were immediately attracted by the thing with our handprints. It was carefully covered with a cover and my name and hers were engraved on it. Looking at this little object, my heart suddenly felt as sweet as eating honey.
I couldn't help but smile foolishly, as if I was in love for the first time.
Just as I was laughing foolishly, Lin Mengxi came out of the bathroom, her hair still wet. She wiped it casually with a towel. Seeing me grinning foolishly, she came over curiously and asked, "What are you laughing at? You're laughing so foolishly."
I was startled by her sudden question, and instantly came to my senses. I quickly waved my hands and said, "No...nothing."
She stared at me suspiciously, leaned close to my mouth and sniffed, then her brows furrowed in frustration and she said angrily, "You bastard, you're smoking again, aren't you? You can't just quit smoking, it's so bad for your health."
When I heard that, I immediately looked aggrieved and mumbled to myself, "I only smoked one. I've been holding it in all night. I just couldn't help it."
Lin Mengxi raised her eyebrows and said to me angrily, "Quit smoking right now! If you can't, don't even think about kissing me anymore!"
When I heard that, I subconsciously said, "I haven't kissed you either."
Lin Mengxi's eyes suddenly widened, her eyes full of anger, and she stared at me straight.
I felt a little uneasy under her gaze, so I quickly softened my tone and said helplessly, "I'll try...I'll try my best to quit, okay?"
Lin Mengxi sighed helplessly, looking like she had no idea what to do with me. She waved her hand and said, "Alright, alright, stop dawdling. Go brush your teeth and wash your face. Let's go shopping in the city later."
When I heard that, I immediately perked up, a smile spread across my face, and I nodded repeatedly and agreed, "Okay, I'll go right away. It will be there soon." Then I quickly walked towards the bathroom.
After I finished washing up and packed everything, Lin Mengxi raised her hand and pointed at the large and small bags on the table, tilted her head and said, "Let's take these things back first."
I nodded without hesitation and replied, "Okay, let's go back first."
Then, she bent down, rummaged through a bag for a while, and pulled out the blue bear keychain she bought last night. She handed it to me and said with a smile, "Here, it's yours." Then, she shook the pink bear keychain in her hand and playfully said, "This is mine. It's so pretty."
I reached out and took the blue bear keychain, smiled at her with a smile on my face, and said, "Let's go, let's set off now." Then I carried the bags with her and left the hotel.
We hailed a taxi on the roadside and drove back to school and arrived at the dormitory building.
Lin Mengxi stopped, looked up at me, and said, "You should go back and change your clothes. Remember to send me a message when you are done."
