Chapter 26 Blame it on me, Lin Mengxi, for not having good eyesight

Mengxi gently tugged at my hand, bringing my wandering thoughts back to the present.

I subconsciously held Meng Xi's hand tightly, and looked up, only to see Ye Yao standing there in a black dress, which made her look elegant and beautiful.

Ye Yao stared straight at Meng Xi, and Meng Xi also stared at Ye Yao intently. The two of them just looked at each other as if I didn't exist.

After a while, Ye Yao walked over slowly with light steps and a polite smile on her face.

"Hello, my name is Ye Yao."

This familiar opening line, but now it was said to Meng Xi, made me feel inexplicably complicated emotions.

Meng Xi responded politely.

"Hello, my name is Lin Mengxi."

Ye Yao smiled sweetly and took out an exquisite box from her bag. I looked at the box and frowned.

Ye Yao just glanced at me, ignoring my expression, then stretched out her hand and placed it in front of Meng Xi: "This is for you."

Meng Xi said, "It's not appropriate for me to take your things."

Ye Yao pointed at me, but didn't look at me. She said slowly, "This is a gift from him. I've never worn it before. Now that you're by his side, I should give it to you."

Meng Xi frowned when she heard this: "I don't need it. If it's mine, I won't let it go. If it's not mine, I won't force it!"

Ye Yao nodded and put the thing away: "Since you don't want it, then I'll keep it. If there is a day, I will take it with me."

When I heard this, I grabbed Mengxi's hand, pulled her back, and asked Ye Yao, "What do you mean?"

When Ye Yao heard my question, she paused, an expression of obvious discomfort appeared on her face, her eyes were slightly red, and she whispered, "It's meaningless, I'm leaving!" After that, she hurried out of the milk tea shop without even looking back.

I stood there and saw her raise her hand to wipe away her tears. Her lonely back was heartbreaking.

I felt a little bit reluctant inside, but I didn't say anything. My eyes were a little sore. After all, she was my first woman and the girl I had been dreaming about.

I slowly turned my head and tried to force a smile: "Xiao Mengxi, would you like something to drink?"

Meng Xi smiled, blinked her eyes, and said, "You made me "relatively" satisfied today." After that, she hugged me tightly in public.

I also reached out and hugged her tightly, gently touching her hair, but somehow, a few tears still flowed down. I hurriedly wiped them away with my hands, afraid that Mengxi would see them.

"You hugged me so tightly that I couldn't breathe."

When I heard that, I panicked and quickly let go of her hand. Then I said, "I'm afraid of losing you."

Meng Xi looked at my nervous expression and burst out laughing. She said, "I was kidding, but in front of so many people, can we be a little more low-key?"

"Okay, I'll listen to you."

After hearing my answer, she reached out and pinched my face, and said in a slightly arrogant tone: "Why don't you take me home? I just want to see if I can catch up with the class!"

When I heard that, I said, "Let's go, little girl."

Just like that, we both seemed to no longer care about the strange looks from others. Even Meng Xi, who was usually very thin-skinned, didn't care at all today and just walked out arm in arm in arm.

I took a taxi and quickly took her back to school.

When we got to the girls' dormitory, she stopped, looked at me and said, "Go ahead, she shouldn't have left yet."

After hearing this, I couldn't help but frown and asked with confusion, "What do you mean?"

Seeing my expression, she suddenly pounced on me and bit my shoulder hard. I gasped with a hiss in pain, but I still managed to hold back the scream.

After she released her mouth, she put her mouth against my chest and said softly, "Then say goodbye properly. After all, I came all the way here."

I felt a little complicated, and looked at her and asked, "Aren't you afraid that I'll run away with her?"

She smiled calmly, with a carefree look in her smile, and said, "You ran away, so just think that I, Lin Mengxi, have no vision. I can't blame you, I can only blame myself."

When I heard this, I hugged her tightly and whispered in her ear: "Thank you for your understanding!"

When she heard what I said, she smiled again, then stood on tiptoe, kissed me, and said, "Go!"

I nodded at her and slowly let her go.

She turned around and ran upstairs, saying as she ran, "I'll give you a day off today!" The voice was still echoing in the air when her figure disappeared at the entrance of the corridor, leaving me standing there.

I turned and walked out of the campus. Instead of taking a taxi, I took out my cell phone and called Ye Yao.

The call was quickly connected, and Ye Yao's familiar voice came from the receiver, sounding a little cold. She only asked, "What's the matter?"

I hurriedly said, "Where are you?" But there was no movement from the other end and no response for a long time.

I asked anxiously again: "Did you hear that? Where are you?" There was still no sound coming from the other side, but I seemed to hear some footsteps and the sound of bottles falling to the ground. This time I was a little anxious, thinking that nothing would happen, and hurriedly shouted: "I called the police!"

At this time, a voice finally came from the other side. Ye Yao said, "I'm in Room 509 of xx Hotel." After hearing this, the stone in my heart finally fell to the ground, and I breathed a sigh of relief.

He quickly ran towards the hotel, worrying about Ye Yao as he ran. He didn't know what happened to her. He just hoped to see her as soon as possible and make sure she was okay.

Soon, I jogged up the stairs. As soon as I reached the door of room 509, I pushed open the half-open door and saw Ye Yao sitting on the ground. The surroundings were in a mess. The ground was full of beer bottles, and three or four bottles of beer had rolled beside her.

She looked a little disheveled, with a dazed look in her eyes. She must have drunk quite a bit of alcohol.

As soon as she looked up and saw me coming, a smile immediately appeared on her face. There was an indescribable bitterness in that smile. She said softly with a drunken look, "You're here, Lin Yu!"

When I heard her call me that, I frowned tightly, closed the door, and a surge of anger surged in my heart. I roared, "It's over, Ye Yao!"

I know in my heart that she and I can't go back to the past. Since we have a new beginning, we shouldn't be entangled like this anymore. But looking at her like this, I can't help but feel a little distressed.

When she heard what I said, her eyes instantly turned red, and tears as big as beans rolled down her cheeks like beads that had broken off the string.

"Yeah?"
