Chapter 30 Didn’t you say you would wait for me?

I took a taxi back to the bar, bought a bottle of Niulanshan at a roadside shop, picked up a bag of peanuts, and then returned to Lao Li's lounge without saying a word.

I couldn't suppress the discomfort in my heart no matter what I did. Even though my stomach was still aching and churning from the previous ordeal, I didn't care. I unscrewed the bottle cap and poured the wine into my mouth, throwing peanuts into my mouth while drinking.

After a while, Lao Li came over, looked at my self-deprecating look, sighed helplessly, said nothing, and just put down a few skewers of meat silently. He knew that it was useless to persuade me at this moment, and the store was a bit busy, so he turned and left.

After drinking only about two taels of alcohol, the alcohol rushed up, causing my stomach to cramp and I vomited with a "wow" sound.

But I was like a possessed person. After vomiting, I wiped my mouth and continued drinking. I didn't know how much I drank, but I felt that the alcohol slowly suppressed the piercing pain in my heart, and my stomach didn't seem so uncomfortable anymore. I felt dizzy, as if only in this way could I temporarily forget the bad things between Ye Yao and me.

I finished the bottle of Niulanshan that I just bought, but the uncomfortable feeling in my heart still didn't go away. I just felt that it was not enough. My head was dizzy, so I got up and started searching at the bar. I actually found the leftover white wine that Zhou Yi and I had drunk before. There was still half a bottle left in the bottle.

I felt like I had grabbed a life-saving straw, and silently returned to the lounge with the wine. After sitting down, I continued to pour wine into my mouth. Tears kept flowing out, but the pain in my heart seemed not as sharp as before.

I don't know how much time passed before Lao Li pushed the door open and walked in, holding a cup of steaming hot milk. Looking at my completely drunken appearance, he said unhappily, "If you want to drink yourself to death, die outside, not here. I don't want to clean up this mess."

I was so drunk I looked up, my eyes barely open, and said vaguely, "Brother, can you help me?"

Old Li frowned and said, "I called Ye Yao a long time ago, but I couldn't get through. There's nothing I can do."

I quickly waved my hands and said, "That's not the matter." Then I reached into my pocket and pulled out the box containing the necklace. I handed it to Lao Li and said, "If Ye Yao comes here in the future, please give this to her for me. Her home is close to here, so she might come."

Old Li looked at me with confusion and asked, "Why don't you give it to her in person?" As soon as these words came out, it was like hitting a sore spot. Two lines of tears instantly slid down. I said in a crying voice, "I'm afraid... I'm afraid she will never see me again." After saying that, I couldn't help sobbing again.

Seeing this, Old Li sighed helplessly and said, "You two kids, ah!" Then he took the box, opened it and looked at it, then put it away and said, "You spent a lot of money, right? How are you going to get home tomorrow?"

I sniffed and replied weakly, "Let's take the bus. I don't have money for a taxi." Lao Li took out a hundred yuan from his pocket, stuffed it into my hand, and said, "Take it, otherwise you won't be able to take a bus."

Thoughts return to the present.

Looking at Ye Yao in front of me, with tears streaming down her face but still pouring wine into her mouth, maybe I still love her. My heart felt like it was being grabbed by an invisible hand, and it suddenly hurt. My eyes turned red uncontrollably and tears kept flowing down.

Then, I subconsciously glanced and saw the Niulanshan liquor on the table. I felt mixed emotions and hesitated for a moment before asking softly, "Is this for me?"

Ye Yao listened and nodded slightly, then said in a choked voice with tears in her eyes: "Drink with me."

I looked at her sad face, without any hesitation, nodded silently, reached out and picked up a bottle of Niulanshan, opened the bottle cap with my fingers skillfully, tilted my head back, and poured the wine into my mouth.

I guzzled down half a bottle of wine, and instantly got drunk. I felt my breathing quicken, my chest felt like it was blocked by a huge rock, and my stomach felt churning.

I quickly covered my mouth with my hands, but I couldn't suppress the nausea at all. I really couldn't stand it anymore, so I didn't care about anything else and ran to the toilet.

As soon as I rushed into the toilet, I vomited with a "wow". It felt so uncomfortable that I vomited until tears came out. I had to hold on to the wall, looking miserable.

Ye Yao just sat there, looking at me coldly as I ran towards the toilet, and then the mocking laughter of "Hahaha" came over. The laughter seemed to be mixed with her grievance, anger and disappointment in me, but when I heard this laughter, it made me feel even worse, and my heart was full of bitterness and helplessness.

I suppressed the discomfort in my stomach, wiped my mouth with my hand, took a deep breath, slowly walked out and sat down again.

My heart was in a mess, but I still picked up the bottle and took another sip. The spicy taste of alcohol irritated my throat. I looked at Ye Yao and asked with red eyes, "Why did you come to me now?"

After hearing what I said, Ye Yao's eyes revealed a hint of complicated emotions, and she asked back: "Does it mean anything to you and me?"

Without hesitation, I shouted back, “Yes!”

Ye Yao was silent for a moment, as if she was gathering her thoughts. Then she slowly spoke, "I went to Lao Li's place some time ago. He gave me your address and bracelet. The woman also explained the situation to me. I know everything now."

When I heard this, I immediately became annoyed. I put the bottle of wine on the table and said with a bit of complaint: "So you don't believe what I say, but you believe what she says?"
