hiss~
Ye Yao bit my chest with such force that I gasped in pain. But I endured it, neither resisting nor shouting. I just let her vent the grievances and anger in my heart.
After a while, she slowly raised her head and looked at me with tearful eyes, her eyes were red and swollen. She reached out her hand, gently touched my face, and said softly: "Originally, I wanted to bite a piece of flesh off your chest to leave a mark for you. That way, whenever you feel pain here in the future, it means I am thinking of you. If one day it doesn't hurt anymore, it means I don't love you anymore. But when I really wanted to bite it, I couldn't bear to do it. I...how could I bear to let you..."
As I listened to her words, I felt mixed emotions and my throat seemed to be blocked by something. For a moment, I didn't know what to say. I just looked at her quietly, and my eyes became red again.
She leaned her head gently on my chest. I was a little dazed. For a moment, I didn't know whether I should reach out and hug her to give her some comfort, or push her away and keep some distance.
But the chest where she bit me was burning with pain, irritating my nerves.
I just sat there quietly, like a wooden man, and she leaned in my arms, her body trembling slightly, and choked up again. Her voice was full of regret and self-blame, and she whispered softly: "If I... if I had come... earlier... If I hadn't been willful... would it... would it not be like this?" Those words with a tearful tone seemed to hit my heart heavily with every word.
"If... I... hadn't deleted you... would you... wait... for me, right?"
Ye Yao choked as she spoke, and paused after every few words, as if the words weighed a thousand pounds and were being squeezed out of her throat with difficulty. Tears then fell, wetting my clothes.
"I should have listened to your explanation. I shouldn't have been so willful. I was wrong. I was really wrong. Can we reconcile, Lin Yu?"
"Lin Yu, I love you, really... I love you so much."
"You've never... lied to me before, why did you just... lie to me once and I lost... everything!"
"You... still love me now, right?"
Her voice was a little hoarse when she said the last sentence, and she choked and asked carefully.
After I listened quietly to her words full of affection and pain, the defense line in my heart completely collapsed. I was already sobbing and tears flowed out uncontrollably, sliding down my cheeks.
I choked and said with difficulty: "I...can't let Mengxi down now. So...I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...it's my fault." Every time I said "I'm sorry", it was like stabbing myself in the heart. The pain and entanglement almost drowned me.
After saying that, I subconsciously clenched the corners of my clothes tightly with both hands. My knuckles had turned white because I was holding on too tightly, but I was completely unaware.
When she heard what I said, she was stunned for a moment, and then a sad smile appeared on her face, which was full of despair and heartbreak.
She slowly stretched out her fingers and gently wiped my tears, as if she had forgotten that her own tears were still flowing. As she wiped, she murmured, "I... I missed you." The voice was as light as a candle in the wind, as if it would disappear in the next second.
She still couldn't stop crying, and the tears were like beads that had broken off the string, sliding down her cheeks one by one, but she said in an extremely gentle tone: "Don't cry." There was a hint of bitterness in her words, as well as understanding and fulfillment of me, but the more she did so, the more uncomfortable she felt.
I opened my mouth, but I really didn't know how to answer her. My heart was full of complicated and tangled emotions.
Seeing this, she sniffed slightly and continued, "Today...stay with me all night and send me off tomorrow, okay?"
I nodded immediately without any hesitation, as if I was afraid that agreeing a second later would make her even more sad.
Seeing this, Ye Yao slowly sat up and stopped lying on me. She raised her hand and gently wiped the tears from her face, her movements a little slow.
She looked at me, a look of nostalgia in her eyes, and whispered, "Let me sing a song for you. I used to listen to you sing all the time." My throat seemed to be choked by something, and I could only respond with a "Okay."
Then, she began to hum softly, her voice choked with sobs and filled with endless sadness: "...Rather than letting you wither in my arms, I'd rather you make mistakes and regret them...I'd let you fly away to the world of dreams, leaving me alone to grieve..."
I just sat there quietly listening, the singing slowly flowing in this slightly quiet and sad space. After she finished singing, she slowly turned her head and cast her eyes on the bright moon outside the window. She seemed to be lost in thought, just sitting there quietly without saying a word.
Perhaps the effect of the alcohol began to slowly show up, her eyes gradually became a little blurry, her eyelids became heavier, and finally she slowly closed her eyes.
I also followed her gaze and looked at the moon outside the window. I don’t know what I was thinking, but I felt like I was on standby at that moment.
After a long while, I came to my senses and looked at her leaning there as if she had fallen asleep. I carefully picked her up.
This slight movement made her slowly open her eyes again. There was a hint of tenderness in her eyes, as if she had temporarily forgotten the previous pain and sadness.
In fact, in this atmosphere, some different emotions surged in my heart. For a moment, there was indeed some desire burning in my heart, but I gritted my teeth and suppressed the impulse.
