After taking a shower, I packed myself up, checked out of the hotel, and went straight to school.
Along the way, my head was in a mess, thinking about what happened last night, as if I had had an absurd dream, but the real feeling kept reminding me that all this happened in reality.
I sighed and quickened my pace, hoping to get back to school as soon as possible so I could get back to normal life.
During the next few days of military training, the sun was blazing and the dust was flying all over the playground. During breaks, I would buy snacks and drinks for Lin Mengxi. In the mornings, I would help her queue up for breakfast. I cared about everything in her life.
Lin Mengxi pulled me under a big tree. We sat back to back, and she slowly said, "Do you really want to pursue me? Why?"
Without thinking, I answered: "Because I want to pursue you."
"That's the reason? That's too perfunctory."
"That's the reason!"
"Well, you are my first friend of the opposite sex, keep going and maybe there will be a chance."
I was surprised and said, "No way, you are so beautiful, and I am your first friend of the opposite sex?"
"Believe it or not."

Lying on the hard bed in the dormitory at night, the screen of my mobile phone lit up. It was a message from Lin Mengxi, complaining about the harsh military training and sharing interesting stories. We just started chatting, and I agreed with everything she said.
Finally, she said, "I said I'd treat you to dinner last time. Are you free tomorrow?"
I was delighted and said, "Okay."
