Chapter 38: Evil Spirit

Jiang Suisui's anxious voice echoed in his mind: "Suisui, you figured it out, right?"

Jiang Suisui remained expressionless, but secretly rolled his eyes in his heart, responding in his mind: "So what if he saw it?"

Baofu seemed even more anxious, his tone rising a few notches: "Aren't you going to stop it?"

Jiang Suisui couldn't help but complain inwardly. She looked at Shi Huanxi, who was talking to her innocently about the teddy bear in front of her, and replied helplessly, "I'm only a little taller than my father's knees now. If I go over and tell them that this child has evil spirits, believe it or not, I'll be sent to a mental hospital first..."

Jiang Suisui's gaze fell on Shi Huanxi again, and saw that the child seemed to be surrounded by a layer of faint shadow, like fog, which was almost imperceptibly flashing a cold light under the light.

Looking closely, the shadow possessed strange patterns, like ancient runes faintly engraved upon it, its dim light flickering as if conveying some mysterious message. The shadow's edges were irregular, stretching outward in strands like countless invisible tentacles, gently swaying in the air, probing everything around them.

The ends of Shi Huanxi's hair were shrouded in shadows, and a few strands of hair seemed to be given life, slowly twisting and entwining, interweaving with the shadows, making a slight "sizzling" sound, as if an evil spirit was whispering an evil spell.

The corners of her clothes were also fluttering slightly, and shadows surged on the fabric like a tide, sometimes condensing into strange shapes, and sometimes dispersing into a hazy space. The cold breath made the air around her seem to be covered with a thin layer of ice. When Jiang Suisui got closer, she could feel the biting cold, which made her shiver uncontrollably.

Jiang Suisui's heart shuddered. An evil aura was emanating from the doll that Shi Huanxi was holding.

The eyes of the little bear doll should have been bright and cute, but at this moment they were filled with two faint green lights, staring at Jiang Suisui closely, as if two ghost fires were burning in the darkness.

Its gaze was like substance, filled with cold malice and inquiry.

Its fur seemed to be corroded by darkness, each strand standing upright, emitting a mixture of rottenness and chilling odor. Faint black air currents flowed through it, as if they were evil veins constructed by an evil spirit within the doll's body.

Those black air currents were like nimble little snakes, crawling among the fur, and occasionally emitting faint glows, as if they were sending some kind of evil signal to each other.

"Zizizizi, can you see me? Little guy, you can see me, right?" A sharp and piercing sound suddenly rang in Jiang Suisui's ears, like nails scratching on a blackboard, or like metal rubbing violently on a stone surface, making Jiang Suisui's temple twitch.

The voice of sudden wealth clamored in Jiang Suisui's mind: "Suisui, this thing is too arrogant, get rid of it!"

Jiang Suisui responded inwardly, "Shut up and be practical. If you gave me the Jiang family inheritance, I could still handle it. But now, forget it. In my past life, Old Jiang didn't let me learn and forced me to learn dancing. I can't possibly dance for him, can I?"

Jiang Suisui knew very well that the Jiang family inheritance contained great power, but now she could not touch it.

She sighed helplessly, a hint of unwillingness flashing in her eyes.

Seeing that Jiang Suisui did not make any move, the evil spirit became more and more arrogant. The shadow on the teddy bear began to spread around, and the air seemed to be frozen wherever it went.

Jiang Suisui gritted her teeth and pretended to be calm as she walked around the banquet hall, but in fact she was quietly gathering the surrounding spiritual energy around her.

This was a little trick she had figured out in her previous life. Although it wasn't as good as the orthodox magic passed down by the Jiang family, it was better than nothing.

“Sui Sui, although I cannot give you the Jiang family inheritance, I can help you sense its weaknesses.” Bao Fu’s voice sounded again, this time with a bit more seriousness.

Jiang Suisui was delighted: "Then quickly find out where this evil spirit's weakness is."

While communicating with Bao Fu, she was also keeping an eye on the evil movements.

The teddy bear's green eyes were fixed on her, as if waiting for her to reveal a flaw.

Jiang Suisui came to a corner where flowers were placed. She deliberately stopped and pretended to admire the flowers, but her fingers danced gently behind her back, weaving the gathered spiritual energy into a fine net.

"I feel that the core of its power is in the heart of the doll, but it is protected by a dark force and it is difficult to attack directly." Bao Fu said anxiously.

"Jiang Suisui."
