Chapter 15 Isn't the whole point of planting peach trees to eat peaches?

The phoenix, as one of the most precious mythical beasts on the continent, possesses the noblest divine beast bloodline and an overwhelming aura that makes anyone appear as filthy in its presence.

Su Yuewan once had the privilege of seeing a phoenix cub.

Even though it was a cub, she still vividly remembers that terrifying aura.

It is the proudest of creatures; no one can make the phoenix lower its head.

But now, this chicken in front of me actually possesses a hint of the majesty of a phoenix?!

Su Yuewan was shocked, but she quickly saw through it. Her eyes were fixed on the magnificent rooster, her gaze gleaming.

Although this chicken has a trace of phoenix aura, it is only superficial and does not have true phoenix blood. If we really want to trace it, it can only be considered a descendant of the phoenix that is several dozen generations removed.

However, what truly surprised Su Yuewan was not the chicken itself, but that Bai Hao could actually afford to raise such a chicken.

How can this guy be so capable that he can even raise the offspring of a phoenix?

“Right now, these chickens have all gone out to forage, so you can’t catch them even if you want to,” Bai Hao explained, his meaning clear: he wanted Su Yuewan to give up on the chickens.

He initially drew fifty chicks from the system, and after raising them for so long, he couldn't resist eating several of them. He couldn't bear to eat the rest himself.

The eggs laid by these chickens could have been used to raise chicks, but unfortunately, the eggs were too delicious, and few of them could survive two days in Bai Hao's hands.

Therefore, the remaining chickens are extremely precious; each one eaten reduces the remaining supply, making them his treasures.

Of course, we can't let Su Yuewan, that foodie, eat her fill.

"I didn't say I wanted to eat it." Su Yuewan quietly wiped away her drool.

To be honest, she was indeed tempted.

A chicken with a trace of phoenix blood must taste amazing.

But looking at the little rascal's expression, it's obvious he's reluctant to part with him.

"Let's go, take me to see what else is up there?" Su Yuewan said.

"There's just a fishpond at the top of the mountain, nothing much, so let's not bother looking," Bai Hao whispered.

The fish up there are really fierce; I'm afraid they might scare you and then you'll come after me.

This is no joke. The fish he raised himself were incredibly ferocious; they could even swallow the fishing rod whole. As a result, Bai Hao had raised them for so long without ever catching a single one, let alone eating them.

Su Yuewan raised an eyebrow.

How fierce can a fish be that it can scare you?

Do you look down on her that much?

"It's nothing, I just want to go up for a walk. Lead the way," Su Yuewan said calmly.

She was more determined to see anything Bai Hao didn't want her to see.

Su Yuewan has now firmly believed in this principle, and no matter what Bai Hao says, it's useless.

"Alright." Bai Hao had no choice but to continue walking up the mountain.

Although this mountain is just an ordinary peak, even its summit is not very high.

However, it is adjacent to a towering mountain peak that is difficult to climb. It is right next to the back mountain, forming a cliff. Water flowing down from the high mountain hits the rocks and forms a pool.

Several willow trees are planted around the pool, swaying gently in the rushing water, dancing in the wind, creating a serene and tranquil atmosphere.

The fishpond Bai Hao was talking about is here.

"There's such a beautiful place here?" Upon reaching the mountaintop and seeing the scene before her, Su Yuewan's eyes lit up.

The waterfall cascades down, splashing white water droplets that create ripples on the lake's surface that linger for a long time.

The willow trees planted on both sides of the road just happened to block the splashing water, preventing the area from becoming too wet.

Outside the willow trees, there are several peach trees. The blooming peach blossoms are breathtaking. Each petal falls into the pond, creating ripples, like a fairyland.

Su Yuewan never knew there was such a beautiful place here!

Under the peach tree, there is also a stone table and four stone chairs, which are also covered with peach blossoms.

"Did you plant these peach blossoms too?" Su Yuewan looked at Bai Hao in surprise.

"Yes, we had a lot of seeds back then, so we just planted a few here. When the peaches ripen, we can come here to pick and eat them." Bai Hao nodded.

"But I can't bear to see these beautiful peach blossoms wither." Su Yuewan reached out and caught a peach blossom, her eyes sparkling like stars.

"Why must such a beautiful flower wither? I wish it could bloom forever."

Bai Hao scratched his head. "If the peach blossoms never fade, how will we have peaches to eat?"

He was simply stating a fact, but Su Yuewan glared at him sharply after hearing that.

"Eat, eat, eat! All you think about all day is food! Is there nothing else in your mind besides food?!"

"I..." Bai Hao was completely stunned.

Isn't the purpose of planting peach trees to eat peaches? Is there some other motive?

I can't figure it out.

Su Yuewan immediately lost interest in appreciating the peach blossoms after Bai Hao said that.

Just then, a shadow suddenly jumped up from the pool with a "thud," and the two looked over at the same time.

It was a fish covered in golden scales, leaping high from the pool and flying towards the waterfall, its scales shimmering in the sunlight.

Upon seeing the fish, Su Yuewan suddenly froze, her thin lips agape in surprise.

This is... a dragon?!

No, it should be said that it is a fish that is preparing to become a dragon!

Su Yuewan sensed an unprecedentedly immense aura emanating from that fish, even larger than the chicken with phoenix bloodline on the mountainside.

This is a golden scale that is about to leap into the form of a dragon!

Is it now about to leap over the Dragon Gate and become a real dragon?!

Su Yuewan's surprise at this moment was like a surging ocean.

She couldn't imagine what kind of fortune would come if this golden scale crossed the Dragon Gate and became a dragon.

But Jinlin only managed to leap less than ten feet out of the water before crashing back down, splashing water everywhere.

"Little Jin, you're not doing so well today. You only jumped up this little bit." Bai Hao walked to the edge of the pool and waved to the golden scales underwater.

This is a koi he raised. He's had it for several years but it hasn't grown much. Its favorite thing to do every day is to jump out of the water, as if it wants to jump to the source of a waterfall.

Upon hearing Bai Hao's words, the golden scale, though unable to speak, leaped high out of the water once more, its tail splashing water onto Bai Hao in a show of displeasure.

"Hey, it's your own fault for not working hard enough, what does it have to do with me?" Bai Hao muttered.

It took Su Yuewan a while to recover from her surprise. Looking at Bai Hao teasing the golden carp by the pool, a hint of incomprehension appeared on her beautiful face.

The golden scales in the water are definitely capable of becoming dragons. As long as the wind and clouds come, they can leap over the dragon gate and soar straight to the nine heavens.

But, this golden carp was also raised by Bai Hao?

How could this little rascal keep such things as pets?!

Su Yuewan's traditional beliefs have been greatly challenged today.
