Chapter 39 Are you not giving me face?

The weather was sunny today. Bai Hao directed Xiaoping and Axiu to prepare breakfast for nearly a hundred people in the sect early in the morning. He then waited in the kitchen in the backyard for half an hour, but Su Yuewan still did not come.

Usually, she would already be in the kitchen by this time, waiting for him to make breakfast, but today it's already this late and he still hasn't come.

"I wonder what kind of trouble that woman is up to today. Is she waiting for me on Thousand Spirit Peak to play a trick on me?"

Bai Hao thought about it more and more and it seemed very possible.

Given Su Yuewan's personality, she's capable of anything.

So, in the end, Bai Hao still made a separate breakfast for Su Yuewan and had Xiaoping take it up to her, not forgetting to give her some instructions.

"If the sect leader asks why I didn't deliver it, just say I had a stomachache and couldn't deliver it upstairs, understand?"

"I've got it, senior brother." Xiaoping nodded earnestly, also somewhat excited.

For him, Bai Hao entrusting him with the arduous yet honorable task of delivering breakfast to Su Yuewan was a sign of his trust in him!

He would never betray Bai Hao's trust in him!

"Very good, I believe you can do it!" Bai Hao patted Xiaoping on the shoulder solemnly, like a veteran giving earnest advice to a new recruit.

"yes!"

Xiaoping, full of enthusiasm, carried the breakfast out of the backyard and headed towards Qianling Peak.

Bai Hao, of course, didn't have a stomachache.

He simply didn't want to bring Su Yuewan breakfast.

"The weather's so nice today, of course we're going fishing." Bai Hao deftly took out a fishing rod from a corner of the kitchen, grabbed a small bucket, and headed up the hill behind the house.

He hadn't gone fishing at the pond behind the mountain for a long time—he hadn't gone since Su Yuewan came out of seclusion.

The main concern was that Su Yuewan might get hungry and specifically ask for the chicken and fish from the mountain, which would be a big problem.

The back mountain.

At the foot of the mountain, the previous batch of vegetables had all been eaten, and Bai Hao had planted some new seeds. Now they were growing well and were thriving, a sight to behold.

On the mountainside, the peach blossoms on the peach trees have mostly passed their peak bloom and are gradually beginning to wither, preparing to bear fruit.

Under the tree was his chicken farm.

After not visiting for quite some time, Bai Hao noticed that the chickens here had grown quite a bit, each weighing about five or six pounds, which was quite large.

"Let's see when we can catch another one that can't play basketball and stew it." Thinking of the deliciousness of chicken, Bai Hao couldn't help but lick his lips, his mouth watering.

These chickens are of very high quality, much better than those sold outside. He usually doesn't dare to eat them.

He estimated that there should be nearly thirty or forty chickens on the back hill now—half of which were hatched from eggs.

When Luo Hai Sect was short of money, Bai Hao did most of his job of going up the mountain to find eggs to eat. As a result, although the chickens laid a dozen or so eggs every day, he ate them all, and none of them were left to hatch into chicks.

Recently, because the sect has become wealthier, they have been able to purchase a lot more ingredients from outside, with all kinds of fish and meat available, so they no longer need to eat eggs every day.

So the eggs that weren't collected in time were hatched into chicks.

But this is good too; there are no eggs, but the chicks earn more than the eggs.

Holding back his drool, Bai Hao continued walking up the mountain.

A peach grove and a cold pool at the mountaintop.

The peach blossoms here haven't completely faded yet; they still retain a sliver of their beauty, leaving petals scattered in the pond, creating a truly beautiful scene.

Just as Bai Hao arrived at the edge of the pool, with a "bang," a golden scale leaped out of the water and jumped vigorously toward the cascading waterfall.

But the top of this waterfall is nowhere in sight, and even Bai Hao doesn't know how high it is, let alone a small golden scale.

It just kept jumping with all its might, each time only leaping two or three zhang high before falling heavily back into the pool, splashing water everywhere.

Then the golden scales will leap high into the air once again.

"Little Jin, I've come to see you." Bai Hao smiled and waved to Jin Lin.

"Tsk, it's been so long, and you're still the same. You can only jump this high, and you haven't improved at all."

As he spoke, he sat down on a stone bench by the pool and began fiddling with his fishing rod.

When the golden scales saw him coming and heard his words, they slapped their tails hard in the water, trying to splash Bai Hao but failing.

Because Bai Hao was too far away from it, and the golden scales seemed unable to leave the area under the waterfall, they could only watch from afar, filled with impotent rage.

"Hehe, you can't hit me this time, can you?" Bai Hao was already fully aware of Jin Lin's actions.

The stone chairs here were placed here by him based on the range of Jinlin's activities.

"Alright, I'm just fishing. This is none of your business. You can keep jumping." With that, Bai Hao cast his long fishing rod and hook into the pond and waited quietly for a fish to bite.

After a brief moment of impotent rage, Jin Lin ignored Bai Hao and continued his dragon-jumping spree.

Each time, he used all his strength to lift himself high out of the water.

But each time it only leaps three or four zhang (approximately 10-12 meters) above the water, which is far from enough to reach the source of the waterfall.

But Jinlin persisted tirelessly, jumping more than ten times before finally giving up from exhaustion and swimming around in the pool.

In nearly half an hour, Bai Hao failed to catch a single fish.

Not a single one!

"Give me some face, can you bite the hook?" Bai Hao weakly moved the fishing rod.

There are clearly fish swimming down there, but they just won't take the bait.

Meanwhile, Jinlin watched Bai Hao from the other side, its tail occasionally slapping the water's surface, as if mocking Bai Hao.

"Xiao Jin, why don't you tell those fish to let one of them bite my hook?" Bai Hao said with a cheeky grin.

But Jinlin not only didn't give him any face, but mocked him even more fiercely, his fish tail rhythmically slapping the surface of the water, just like Bai Hao had mocked him earlier.

"Damn it! Since you guys are so disrespectful, don't blame me for not giving you any face in return!"

Bai Hao suddenly threw his fishing rod aside, took off his clothes, and jumped into the pool, splashing up a huge spray of water.

The fish underwater were immediately startled and fled.

Bai Hao can swim, and since it's hot, he'll take a bath.

He plunged into the pool, only to see what appeared to be a bright light shining at the bottom.

"What is that?"

Bai Hao was curious, so he surfaced to catch his breath, and then swam rapidly downwards towards the ball of light...
