"Anyone?"
Without saying anything, Chen Ge rushed over with the hammer in his hand. He didn't intend to give the other party a chance to react.
"Come out!" The door of the ward was locked. His whereabouts had been exposed, so he no longer cared about anything.
The man and the cat ran to the corner of the stairs. The corridor was dark and there was nothing there.
"Where did you go?"
Chen Ge has already tested the white cat in the haunted house. This cat is particularly sensitive to certain things and rarely makes mistakes.
"The white cat didn't stand on end, it just showed aggressiveness. The danger level of that thing should not be as high as that of Muyang Middle School." The white cat stood on end twice in Chen Ge's haunted house, once when he entered Muyang Middle School, and once when the bloody door appeared in the bathroom. Based on the white cat's reaction just now, Chen Ge roughly judged the strength of the monster.
"The most important thing now is that we don't know whether that thing is a human or a ghost."
Returning to the nurses' station, Chen Ge smashed the partition with a hammer and lifted up the entire floor.
The scene in front of me is a little creepy. Hair tied with thin thread is nailed to a wooden board. If the board is turned over, the ends of the hair will hang down, which is frightening to look at.
"Why did that man nail his hair to the board? Is this his special hobby?"
All the hair was tied up with thin thread. Some of it was thin, soft, and shiny black, and it was obvious that it was well maintained. It was probably shaved from a young girl's head. Others were fluffy, split, and almost completely white, and it was obvious that they belonged to an old man.
Chen Ge separated the hair by comparing their lengths; they should belong to four different people.
"Among these four people, at least one is still alive." Chen Ge looked at the two large iron cages in the nurse station and gradually understood the purpose of the cages: "What a lunatic."
He put the board aside and lay down under the counter again. This time he could see the words on the board clearly - I will pay you back for everything you have done to me.
The handwriting was very small, and there were some disjointed and completely incoherent words below it. It felt like a person was halfway through writing, suddenly went crazy, and started talking nonsense.
"When some mentally ill patients are emotionally agitated, they will talk to the air in words that no one can understand. This also happens when ordinary people talk in their sleep." Chen Ge tried to interpret it, but he had no idea what the other party was trying to express.
Looking at the words on the wooden board, Chen Ge felt a chill on his back. There were countless similar words written on the wall outside the mental hospital. Each sentence contained a person's name. What was even more terrifying was that the handwriting was completely different, obviously not from the same person.
It is understandable if one patient occasionally exhibits such symptoms, but when everyone shows such symptoms, the concept is completely different.
"It seems that the patients in this hospital are very resentful." Chen Ge took out his mobile phone, took a picture of the words on the counter, and tied the rooster to the back of his backpack: "The more people there are, the easier it is to leave loopholes. I should go to the second ward to take a look."
Chen Ge flipped out the nurse's table, took out a bag of salt from his backpack, tore a small hole in it, and sprinkled a few lines near the nurse's station.
He did this not to exorcise evil spirits, but to catch the hidden madman.
Holding the bag of salt in his hand, Chen Ge came to the corridor between the first and second wards. When he was about to enter the second ward, the white cat suddenly jumped onto the windowsill and scratched the glass on the corridor window.
"Be careful, don't fall." Chen Ge stood at the window. The ward was surrounded by dense forests and no lights could be seen at a glance.
"Who would have thought that there would be such a building hidden in the wilderness?" Chen Ge did not find anything unusual, but the white cat just lay on the window and refused to move, raising its head and making calls.
"Is there a problem outside the window? Above my head?" Out of trust in the white cat, Chen Ge opened the window and looked upstairs.
Right above him, in the third-floor gallery window, a slightly deformed face was looking down.
With the light behind him, the man dodged backwards immediately after hearing the sound of Chen Ge opening the window. He disappeared without even closing the window.
"That face..." Chen Ge didn't expect that the other person was right above his head. The two of them probably only looked at each other for less than 0.1 second. He didn't have time to take a closer look. He just felt that the facial features of that face were a little deformed, not quite the same as those of a normal person, but he couldn't tell exactly what was different.
Without making any rash moves, Chen Ge listened carefully, but there were no footsteps coming from the corridor, and he could not tell which direction the other party was running in.
"I always feel that the two sides of that face are a little asymmetrical. It should be a human."
Chen Ge held the hammer tightly and entered the second ward. He had previously thought that the first and second wards were similar, but when he actually entered the second ward, he found that the layout of the two wards was completely different.
The second ward is much more gloomy and spacious than the first. There are no crowded beds in the corridor. In addition to the most basic single beds, each single room is also equipped with tables, chairs and desk lamps.
"The environment is much better than the first ward." Chen Ge sprinkled a handful of salt at the entrance of the corridor and entered the first room closest to him.
The bed was opened, the cotton wool in the quilt was thrown all over the floor, the chamber pot and tableware were placed together, and there were many words dug out on the wall with fingernails.
"It's not easy for the nurses and caregivers in the mental hospital to take care of patients like this every day." Chen Ge left the room and continued forward.
The types of wards in the second ward have been enriched. There are special counseling rooms, entertainment rooms, chess and card rooms, and shower rooms. Chen Ge even saw a small hall with a stage at the end of the corridor, but the layout of the room was a bit strange.
This small hall did not seem to be used for hosting parties and evening parties. The windows were sealed with wooden boards and hung with extra thick curtains. All the decorations were either black or white, making it look very depressing.
Pushing open the door, Chen Ge stopped before entering. He saw a half-enlarged black-and-white photo placed in the middle of the stage.
The photo was pasted on the wall. It should have been a complete photo, but someone cut it in half.
However, just from the remaining half, it can be seen that the person in the photo is a middle-aged female nurse with a stout build and a fierce expression.
"Enlarged black and white photos, opaque black curtains, rows of wooden chairs, why does this place feel like a mourning hall?" Chen Ge couldn't understand why there was such an activity room in the mental hospital. If it was arranged by the hospital, then what was the point?
"Is this female nurse the victim of Ward 3? But why is her photo posted in the activity room of Ward 2?"
Remembering the appearance of the female nurse in the photo, Chen Ge did not stop. He closed the door, sprinkled a handful of salt at the entrance, hurried into the corridor, and walked towards the third floor.
