"Don't do it alone! Slow down!"
Old Wei dragged Mr. Bai back in a hurry. The combined age of the two of them was over a hundred years old, but they managed to catch up with Chen Ge.
"I just want to ask for directions. What are you doing here?" Chen Ge didn't want to expose Xu Yin in front of Lao Wei, so he took his fingers off the recorder.
"There's not even a living person in this village. Who can you ask for directions?" Old Wei was really worried that Chen Ge would do something impulsive, such as breaking into the house next door with a hammer.
"You'll know soon." Chen Ge signaled Lao Wei not to speak. He stood at the corner, counting his heartbeats silently, and clenched the skull crusher.
After waiting for a full minute, the red shroud still did not appear. Chen Ge turned sideways and glanced towards the corner, but the shroud had already disappeared.
"Run away?"
It probably heard Lao Wei's voice, so it hid.
Chen Ge put away the skull crusher, leaned against the wall and began to think about what to do next.
"The Living Coffin Village is a three-star screaming scene, but the horror it shows now is far from the three-star standard." Chen Ge looked at the old houses at the end of the dirt road that were almost indistinguishable from each other: "The ghost wall should be just the beginning. It seems that the monsters in this village are slowly waking up."
The three-star horror scene indicates that there must be a red robe hidden in it!
This is also what Chen Ge is most worried about. He is very clear about the weight of the two words "red clothes".
"There is no better way for now. I can only investigate while looking for lone ghosts to feed to Xu Yin. If he can become a red-clothed ghost tonight, then even if this mission fails, it won't be a loss for me."
Chen Ge is a person with a good mentality, but what he is worried about is encountering a red-clothed evil spirit with a bad mentality. Xu Yin swallowed so many ghosts in the village alive, which is likely to anger the other party.
After counting all the ghosts on his body, the only one he could deal with was Xu Yin.
Although the newly acquired Yan Danian is known as the strongest ghost under the red clothes, his last key ability has not yet been unlocked.
In addition, judging from his usual appearance, he doesn't seem like a particularly vicious ghost. If he is released and accidentally gets torn by the red clothes, Chen Ge will probably be heartbroken for a long time.
"We must be cautious." Chen Ge reminded himself repeatedly. After keeping it in mind, he looked at Mr. Bai and said, "The monsters in the village are beginning to awaken. You have been to the Living Coffin Village before. Do you know what special buildings there are in this place?"
"There is an ancestral hall at the deepest part of the village. Outsiders are not allowed to approach it. There are many wells dug in the village, but the people of Coffin Village would rather run to the other side of the mountain to get water than draw water from the wells. They would walk around the wells when they see them." Grandpa Bai tried his best to recall: "There is another strange thing. This village has no village chief. The person in charge is a young woman who lives alone in the largest house in the village."
"I understand that outsiders are not allowed to enter the ancestral hall, but why are they so afraid of the well? Is it because the water here is of special quality and drinking it will cause physical deformities?" Chen Ge didn't quite understand.
"There's nothing wrong with the water. My father once tested it on captured animals. But I don't know why the people in Coffin Village refuse to use it. They also prevented us from checking near the well." Grandpa Bai couldn't explain the reason clearly.
"Let's keep an eye on these places. The more they don't let us get close to a place, the more likely it is that the truth is hidden there."
"Okay, where are we going now?" We were lost, and the white paper lanterns all over the street were swaying, looking particularly creepy.
"Let's take it one step at a time."
The three of them returned the same way, but they did not see the old house they had been to before. At a glance, they saw white lanterns hanging on the doors of all the houses.
"We can't get out now." Mr. Bai put the jade pendant outside his clothes and held it tightly in his hand: "It's not a good idea for us to stay on the street all the time. Why don't we go into the house next door and spend the night there?"
"There might be a ghost living in the room with white paper lanterns hanging, but that's what the ghost old lady said, so it may not be true. She may be deliberately lying to us." When Lao Wei thinks about what happened tonight, he still feels like a dream.
"Then let's go in and take a look?" Uncle Bai walked to the outside of an old house nearby, with his hands raised but he didn't dare to put them down.
The old lady's words, "Don't knock on the door after dark," lingered in his mind like a curse.
Chen Ge did not stop Mr. Bai from knocking on the door. He was also thinking about what to do. Although he acted impulsively, he was the only one among the three who knew the danger of the Living Coffin Village best.
"I can't stay in one place all the time. Who knows how many ghosts it will attract." Chen Ge was thinking of a solution when the white cat in his backpack suddenly cried. The sound was very harsh and contained a rare kind of fear.
The last time I heard such a cry was when the door of the bathroom in Chen Ge's haunted house was about to be opened.
"Oh no! Something is coming!" Chen Ge reacted immediately. He grabbed Grandpa Bai and Old Wei by the shoulders, and the three of them entered the house next to them where white paper lanterns were hung.
"Chen Ge? What are you doing?"
"Don't say anything, don't say anything!"
Chen Ge closed the wooden door. The moment the door closed, the cry of a baby boy was heard from the corner of the street.
"A child?"
"Quiet!"
Seeing Chen Ge showing an unprecedented solemn expression, Old Wei and Mr. Bai became nervous and stood still, not daring to move.
The crying sound was getting closer and closer. Even if I covered my ears, the strange and miserable sound could still penetrate into my brain.
Chen Ge's upper body tilted, he didn't dare to move his feet, afraid of making noise. He could only close the distance to the door, and then use the Yin pupil to see the street outside the door clearly.
The lanterns hanging on the door all dimmed, as if stained with a hint of blood.
The wind outside suddenly stopped, and the only sound on the entire street was the crying of a baby.
It’s coming!
A short arm stretched out from the corner. Chen Ge's pupils shrank into a point and he stared in that direction.
Soon the monster's face was revealed. It seemed to be a drowned child. It had no hair, its skin was pale and swollen, its facial features were blurred, and it was wrapped in a wet, blood-red cloth!
"Red clothes? How can such a young child be a red clothes?!"
The baby continued to cry. It crawled quickly on the ground, as if looking for something. It stopped suddenly when it crawled to the door where Chen Ge and the other two were hiding.
The blurry face lifted up, and the wrinkled skin was pulled apart, revealing its real face.
The baby had no eyes or nose, only three black holes and a deformed mouth on its face.
Chen Ge held his breath. He was glad that he brought the white cat with him. If he hadn't been warned in advance, with the speed of the monster outside the door, he might have been knocked down before he could even press the switch of the repeater.
