Chapter 2: The Prime Minister's Daughter

It was late April, and the peonies were in full bloom, with a refreshing fragrance wafting across the air. A gentle breeze stirred ripples on the river, and the green leaves on the treetops quietly danced.

A woman in a light blue Biluo dress stained red by the dirty blood oozing from the whip marks, her entire face was blurred by the dirty blood, and her entire body was covered in bloody scars from the whipping. She lay unconscious in the cold river water.

After a while, the woman in the river seemed to be injected with a new soul. She opened her eyes and cautiously climbed up with her weak body.

After climbing under the tree, she leaned her back against the tree and looked at her whole body with her clear and bright eyes.

She frowned: Shouldn't I have fallen out of room 308? Even if I didn't die, why are there so many whip marks, and this clothes and environment? Did I travel through time?

She casually raised the corners of her pale, cracked lips and sneered. Thinking of the man's face just now, her eyes were filled with disgust and resentment, and she muttered, "Disgusting thing."

Su Qi dragged her now bruised body and staggered towards the woods. She was not wearing shoes, and her fair and tender feet knocked against the uneven stone surface. Red blood oozed out from the soles of her feet bit by bit. Su Qi had no sense of pain at all. Her body was like a beauty soaked in blood, with messy hair.

There was a sound of horse hooves not far away. Su Qi fell down weakly and powerless. The sound of horse hooves that was close to her suddenly stopped.

"Brother Zhao, there's an injured girl up ahead, I wonder..."

"I'll go take a look." Brother Zhao, as mentioned by the other person, interrupted him. He moved swiftly and squatted beside Su Qi, feeling for the pulse in her neck with his hand.

Young Master Zhao pursed his lips, a relaxed smile appearing on the corner of his mouth: "This woman can still be saved."

Master Zhao picked up the injured Su Qi and rode on his horse together. A little blood stained Master Zhao's clothes red.

"Brother Gu, see you next time. I have to take this woman to get medical treatment."

"Brother Zhao is truly a chivalrous man. He helps this woman without asking about her background. How heroic! Goodbye!" A black horse quickened its pace and disappeared from Master Zhao's sight.

Young Master Zhao held Su Qi on his shoulder and protected her with his arms, fearing that the horse's shaking would worsen her injuries.

The wooden door of a shop located on the corner of the street was kicked open by Mr. Zhao.

"Doctor Wanshen, please save this woman." Master Zhao picked up Su Qi and placed her on the long wooden chair in the house.

Doctor Wanshen carefully closed the wooden door that was kicked open.

"Second Prince, this old servant will treat this young lady right away."

The young master Zhao in front of him is the second prince Zhao Xian of His Majesty Qimeng Huanjun City. He has been weak and sickly since childhood, but he is very talented. However, he cannot practice martial arts due to his weak body.

"Doctor Wan, please be careful with your words." The man in front of him glared at Doctor Wan fiercely.

Doctor Wan Shen quickly changed his words: "Master Zhao, this woman is..."

"A passerby."

"Mr. Zhao, aren't you afraid of getting into trouble?"

"I know my limits. Besides, I'm definitely not the kind of person who would stand by and watch someone die without helping. If he's an enemy, it won't be too late to get rid of him later."

Doctor Wan Shen stopped what he was about to say and focused all his attention on Su Qi. His old face was covered with wrinkles, and each wrinkle was mixed with surprise. His brows were squeezed together and his eyes were narrowed into slits.

"This pulse pattern is truly unprecedented. A weak meridian is entangled with a strong meridian, compressing the blood circulation throughout her body."

Zhao Heng loosened his crossed hands and stared at Su Qi, who was covered in wounds.

"Doctor Wanshen, the wounds on her body are healing very quickly."

"This is a strange pulse. The speed at which her wounds heal is too astonishing. This woman must be extraordinary."

A pair of clear eyes opened when the pain ended. Su Qi looked at the two people in front of her with a bright look and fire in her eyes.

"Thank you for saving my life." The whole process flashed through Su Qi's mind quickly. She vaguely remembered Zhao Heng's gentle eyes and warm chest in front of her.

Zhao Heng was shocked when he stared at Su Qi's eyes. She didn't look like a patient who had just recovered. There was no pain or weakness in her eyes.

"Girl, what's your name?"

"Bai Yinglin." Su Qi blurted out three words, and some vague memories deep in her mind began to occupy her thoughts. When the two thoughts merged together, they became an inseparable whole.

"Bai Yinglin?" Zhao Xun asked back in a very surprised tone.

Bai Yinglin turned her head and stared at Zhao Yan, saying, "Is there any water? I need to wash my face."

"Turn left ahead." Doctor Wanshen fiddled with his rare and precious herbs and responded.

A basin of clean water washed away the blood on Bai Yinglin's face. Her face was like a silver plate, her eyes were like water apricots, her lips were red without any makeup, and her eyebrows were green without any painting. Her stunning beauty was imprinted in Zhao Yan's mind, and a blush appeared on her originally cold cheeks.

Bai Yinglin saw through everything, raised the corner of her mouth and smiled elegantly.

Zhao Xian, who was infatuated, said to himself: This is Bai Yinglin, the most beautiful woman in Qimeng, the legitimate daughter of Prime Minister Bai, but why is she so miserable?

"Mrs. Bai, why are you so embarrassed?"

"A thousand gold?"

"Aren't you Prime Minister Bai's legitimate daughter?"

Bai Yinglin lowered her head thoughtfully. The name Bai Yinglin clearly emerged in her memory, but she had no idea who she was. Could it be that she was in the Prime Minister's Mansion...

She didn't think any further, but looked up at Zhao Yan and asked, "My benefactor, please do me one more favor and send me back to the Prime Minister's Mansion."
