Qin Xi walked down the road arm in arm with Shu Hua, calmly observing the peaceful scene.
She had a rare opportunity to meet with her friends today. She did not travel with Lu Huai.
"What does this mean?" Shu Hua was astonished as she watched the First Prince lead his troops to comfort the people in the capital and even take out his own money to subsidize the poor.
Glancing at the eldest prince, who was pretending to love the people like his own children, Qin Qi said indifferently, "He just wants to increase his prestige and win over the hearts of the people."
"Is His Majesty going to establish an heir?" Since it concerned matters of state, Shu Hua leaned closer and asked in a low voice.
Qin Qi shook his head: "No, but it does relate to this matter. The Crown Prince of Qing Kingdom is arriving in the capital today, and His Majesty wants to select a prince to welcome and entertain the Qing Kingdom envoy."
Upon hearing this, Shu Hua suddenly understood, as if enlightened: "So that's how it is."
Just then, a voice came from behind, leaving Qin Qi flustered: "Sister Qi—"
Shu Hua turned her head and muttered under her breath, "Why is it Zhao Xuanyang again..."
Qin Qi sighed, speechless.
Although somewhat helpless, Shu Hua still pulled Qin Qi and bowed with a smile: "Greetings, Your Highness, Fourth Prince. May Your Highness be well."
The Fourth Prince waved his hand: "Miss, there's no need for such formalities."
“Qi-meimei…” He looked at Qin Qi, stepped forward to take her hand, but then seemed to remember something and awkwardly withdrew his hand.
Qin Xi pursed her lips, somewhat annoyed.
Seeing this, Shu Hua's eyes darted around, and she touched the jade hairpin in her hair as she stepped between the two, winking at Qin Qi: "Yizhi, do you think my hairpin is a little crooked?"
The latter understood immediately, stared at the top of her head for a while, and said thoughtfully, "It seems there's something wrong with the hairpin. There's a shop up ahead, why don't we go together and ask the shopkeeper to take a look?"
The two young ladies were chatting, and the Fourth Prince couldn't interrupt, so he could only watch awkwardly from the side. Hearing that the two were about to leave, he had no choice but to take his leave first: "Since Sister Qi and Miss Shu have things to do, I'll take my leave now. My second brother is waiting for me ahead."
Shu Hua smiled and curtsied, saying, "Since Your Highness is so busy, then this humble woman and Yizhi will see you off."
Seeing the Fourth Prince looking at Qin Qi with a hesitant expression, she added, "Your Highness, please take care."
The fourth prince reluctantly withdrew his gaze, nodded, and turned to leave.
Seeing him leave, Shu Hua grabbed her and they ran. As they ran, she said, "Hurry up, the Fourth Prince has always been a bit crazy. Who knows, he might come back in a fit of rage."
Qin Xi, both amused and exasperated, let her pull her away, running straight for a long time before stopping.
Shu Hua, panting, pointed to the side: "Phew... Look, we've arrived at Yu Xian Zhai."
Since they were already there, there was no reason for them to just take a look and leave, so the two of them walked into Yuxianzhai side by side.
"You two have finally arrived! It's been so long since I've seen you!" The waiter greeted them warmly.
These are all big clients; one is powerful and influential, and the other spends money like water. No one can afford to neglect them.
"Are the private rooms still available?" Qin Qi asked, glancing sideways at the obsequious waiter.
"Yes, yes, the private room for the two ladies is never open to the public. The only time you two went in was with Young Master Lu and Young Master Shu. There's no one else there." The waiter's face was beaming like a flower, just missing two green leaves.
Shu Hua nodded in satisfaction, then caught a glimpse of a familiar figure out of the corner of her eye, and looked on in disbelief.
“Yizhi, look at that person… isn’t he the young man in black robes we saw at Jinglin Temple that day?”
