Lu Huai concealed his expression and hummed in agreement. "Shall we go back and get some sleep?"
Qin Qi gave a pale, forced smile. "Okay, hug me."
Lu Huai smiled, touched her cheek, carefully picked her up, and quickly left. Before turning around, he glanced at Minister Lu out of the corner of his eye.
Minister Lu sat in the main seat, sighing incessantly; a few more strands of white hair had appeared at his temples. His steward stood beside him, eyes downcast, speechless.
For the next three days, the two tacitly avoided mentioning the matter. The maids and servants in the courtyard were all given leave, and Lu Huai personally took care of everything for Qin Xi, even leaving Lele behind.
Qin Xi seemed pleased with this, laughing more often than before and becoming even more attached to Lu Huai.
