For the sake of the scattered prime ministers, both civil and military officials were established; the noble family harmed the Cai clan, who protected 14 people.

"In reply to your question, sir, I did indeed see with my own eyes that he ordered someone to stab that man, and there were quite a few people present at the time."

"Tch. Since many people saw it, why is it only you, you little beggar? Don't try to smear me with all sorts of accusations." Cai Fengyin shrugged indifferently, his eyebrows raised, a hint of provocation in his eyes. "My lord, if you want to find fault, you can always find a reason."

"Hmm, you make a good point." Cheng Wenzhang nodded, looking at Jingzhe. "Do you have any witnesses?"

"I……"

Jingzhe rolled his eyes in a panic. He was imprisoned; where would he find witnesses? If it weren't for this young master and that lady pleading for him, he'd probably still be in jail.

Cai Fengyin grinned mischievously, "Then that means there isn't one."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a voice rang out—"Who said there wasn't!"

Lu Huai's eyes were full of smiles as he looked up with the others.

The newcomer wore a light blue long dress, her long black hair neatly tied up with a single jade hairpin, her hair styled in a beautiful and sleek updo. The sachet at her waist added a touch of worldly charm. She placed her hands clasped in front of her abdomen, exuding elegance and poise.

Indeed, this person is Qin Xi.

Cai Fengyin narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?"

Lu Huai stood up and took her hand. "It is indeed my wife."

Qin Xi smiled and bowed to Cheng Wenzhang, "This humble woman, Qin Xi, greets Your Excellency."

Cheng Wenzhang raised his hand. "No need for formalities. Are you here to testify?"

"That's right." Qin Qi nodded. "I saw it with my own eyes. Young Master Cai ordered the woman next to him to beat and scold the injured person. In the end, she pulled out a dagger and caused the tragedy."

She paused, then continued, "The soldiers took him away along with Jingzhe. Jingzhe was originally a witness, but in the end, she became a criminal. I suppose Young Master Cai must have played a part in that."

“Of course,” Qin Qi said, glancing to the side with a half-smile, “the Prefect also helped.”

Cheng Wenzhang frowned and looked at Cai Fengyin, "Is what she said true? Is this true?"

To his surprise, Cai Fengyin didn't answer him. Instead, he narrowed his eyes and asked Qin Qi, "Do you know Consort Jing?"

Qin Qi was taken aback. Shouldn't he be confronting him righteously right now? What kind of question is this?

She was a little taken aback by the question, but still nodded, "This humble servant has seen Your Majesty's beauty."

“That’s it.” Cai Fengyin clapped his hands, grinned, and suddenly laughed.

He turned around. "It is true. I admit to the crime."

Cheng Wenzhang paused for a moment, then asked, "Are you sure?"

“Confirmed. Take me away.” Cai Fengyin raised an eyebrow and said casually, as if he were discussing what to eat for dinner.

Qin Xi was stunned, genuinely not expecting him to confess so readily. Even knowing he hadn't injured the person and that someone would bail him out, meaning he wouldn't be detained for long, she was still somewhat taken aback.

After all, which criminal would willingly ask the officers and soldiers to take them away from Dali Temple?

Lu Huai didn't react much, but held her wrist and looked at Cheng Wenzhang, "Sir, it's time to close the case."

Cheng Wenzhang twitched his lips before slamming his gavel—"Bang!"

"This case is closed! Guards! Remove Jingzhe's handcuffs and shackles, and take the instigator Cai Fengyin and the murderer Wang Er to the jail to await their fate!"

At his command, Cai Fengyin and Wang Er were immediately taken away. Before leaving, Cai Fengyin glanced at Qin Xi.

"Court adjourned!"
