Only in the cold of winter do we truly appreciate the pine and cypress; plum blossoms adorn the scene, may those who wish come

The terms "accompanying" and "accompanying" may seem similar in everyday language, but when put together...

It does seem quite different.

"You should go with my brother," she said playfully, making a face at Lu Huai.

Lu Huai turned his head and glanced at the rather ungraceful sitting posture of the stretched-out man, then scoffed disdainfully.

Shu Zhan: "...?"

"Hey, what do you mean by this?" Shu Zhan put his feet down and said with dissatisfaction, "We've all been through thick and thin together, what are you pretending to be so high and mighty for?"

Glancing at the indignant Shu Zhan, Lu Huai dusted off the corner of his clothes and spoke like an immortal: "Shu Zixiang? Just a fool."

Shu Zhan: "...?"

However, upon arriving at Jinglin Temple, Lu Huai was still forced to accompany the simpleton to admire the plum blossoms. This was because Qin Qi told him that he hadn't seen Shu Hua in a long time and wanted to have some private words with her.

He didn't want to be with Shu Zhan at all, but Qin Xi bribed him with two kisses, her cheeks flushed as she said to him, "See you later."

Lu Huai surrendered almost instantly, patting her head affectionately with his eyes: "Be careful."

Qin Xi nodded with a smile, then turned to find Shu Hua, who was waiting for her at the temple gate.

The two were very affectionate, completely ignoring Shu Zhan standing to the side.

Seeing Qin Xi leave, he walked to Lu Huai's side, frowning as he stared at her: "Are you serious?"

Lu Huai stood with his hands behind his back until Qin Xi's figure disappeared into the crowd before turning to look at Shu Zhan. His smile faded, and he asked calmly, "What do you think?"

-

As the New Year arrived, Jinglin Temple was bustling with people. Some came to pray for blessings, some to draw lots, some to have their fortunes told, and some even to pray for love. It was quite a lively scene.

Jinglin Temple is famous for its plum blossoms, and its incense is very popular. On the days when the plum blossoms are in bloom, people come to offer incense in an endless stream.

Shu Hua pulled Qin Qi along, chatting and laughing as they walked towards the plum garden.

Before you see the flowers, you can smell their fragrance. From afar, you can smell the sweet scent of plum blossoms; the refreshing aroma invigorates the mind and body.

Qin Qi and Shu Hua arrived outside the plum garden and were about to go inside when they were blocked by a man in a black robe who suddenly appeared.

"Please wait, young lady."

He held the folding fan in his hand, cupped his hands in greeting, and said politely, "I have no intention of bothering you, but I have a question to ask."

Shu Hua frowned as she looked at the strange man who had suddenly appeared.

The man took an object from his attendant and placed it in front of the two women: "Is this the purse you two ladies dropped?"

Qin Qi subconsciously touched the money pouch at her waist; it still felt heavy, thankfully it hadn't fallen off.

Just as I breathed a sigh of relief, Shu Hua cried out.

"ah!"

She exclaimed in surprise, "This is indeed mine. My mother embroidered it herself, and my brother and I each have one. Mine is a deer, and my brother's is a crane."

Qin Qi looked in that direction and indeed saw a spirit deer. Presumably, the one stretching out was a crane, symbolizing "deer and crane in spring."

Upon hearing this, the man seemed to relax his brows, and a smile appeared on his lips.

He joked, "Since it's so valuable, young lady, you'd better tie it up properly. Luckily, I found it, otherwise I'm afraid you wouldn't even have a purse left."

Shu Hua was amused by his humor and accepted the money bag somewhat shyly, thanking him softly.

Qin Xi sized up the man before her. Although he was only dressed in a black robe and did not wear a single jade pendant, his aura was undeniable. Not to mention anything else, the gold thread at the bottom of his robe alone was something that ordinary people could not afford.
