Only the moon in the spring courtyard is truly sentimental, still shining on the fallen flowers for those who are parted.

However, apart from what Lu Huai said, no one else's words mattered to A Yu.

Upon hearing the imperial edict, he felt an urge to rush to the palace and give Emperor Yuxian a sound beating. How dare he covet the young mistress! He was utterly suicidal!

"Stop! Stop right now!" Wuchang shouted angrily, backing away while pointing a trembling finger at Lu Huai, "Lu...Lu Huai! Make him stop right now! Are you trying to rebel?!"

"Rebellion?" Lu Huai murmured these two words, then suddenly scoffed: "Heh, I merely expelled someone who falsely conveyed an imperial edict from the manor. How can that be considered rebellion?"

"You... how dare you accuse me of falsely conveying the imperial edict? This is His Majesty's oral decree! This is blatant disobedience!" Wu Chang and the group of eunuchs who came to deliver the edict had already been cornered at the door by A Yu and the other servants of the mansion, but they still stubbornly shouted, "Lu Feng! Lu Chuan! Are you also going to disobey the imperial edict?"

Minister Lu angrily flung his sleeve and said, "This is utter nonsense! You dare to falsely convey the imperial edict! I will definitely impeach you before His Majesty tomorrow!"

Lu Chuan merely glanced at him indifferently, gave a slight smirk, and said nothing.

"You...you're all going to lose your heads!" Wuchang was being shoved around, and he almost dropped his whisk. It was Ayu who gave him a disgusted look and kicked it away.

Seeing that Wuchang still wanted to argue stubbornly, Xiaoqizi could only pull him away with a worried look, "Let's go, Master. If we don't leave now, we might get beaten up!"

In the end, the eunuchs were still driven out of the Minister's mansion. Wu Chang wanted to grab onto a pillar at the door, but was kicked out by A Yu, falling face-first into the mud and almost straining his back.

The hall fell silent for a moment. Qin Xi looked at Lu Huai, whose expression was displeased, pursed her lips, stepped forward and took his hand, only to find that he was trembling.

Is he afraid?

Qin Xi sighed softly. She had seen him slaughter an entire courtyard of assassins without batting an eye, but she had never seen him tremble with fear.

Minister Lu stepped forward with a furrowed brow, wanting to say something, but only let out a sigh before leading the haggard Lu Chuan away.

Qin Xi pursed her lips, looked up at him, and gently shook his arm, "Lu Huai."

Lu Huai looked down at her, his voice low and husky, "Mm."

"Shall we go back to the courtyard?"

Lu Huai: "Okay."

Qin Xi smiled slightly, casually taking his hand and walking back. She tried everything to cheer him up along the way, but only received lukewarm responses.

As soon as she returned to her room, Qin Xi's face fell in dejection. She covered her eyes and muttered, "Are you angry with me?"

Lu Huai then pursed his lips, sighed, and pulled her into his arms. "What nonsense are you talking about? Why would I be angry with you for no reason? I'm not sick."

Qin Xi lowered her hand, leaned on his shoulder, and pouted, looking aggrieved. "Then why are you so cold to me?"

"Hmm..." Lu Huai kissed her forehead. "It has nothing to do with you. I'm just a little unhappy."

"Because of what happened just now?"

Lu Huai: "Yeah. I'm not happy that the person I love most is being coveted by another man."

"I won't go," Qin Xi said firmly, looking at him.

Lu Huai smiled and gently pecked her soft cheek. "What if he insists on separating us? Would you be willing to elope with me and become a pair of star-crossed lovers?"
