Only the moon in the spring courtyard is truly sentimental, still shining on the fallen flowers for those who are parted.

But before he could even give him a good life, he had to go on a long trip.

He didn't sleep a wink last night, sitting on the couch staring at Qin Xi all night, not even daring to blink. He sat there for a long time, thinking for a long time.

He thought he had to come back quickly; he couldn't bear to leave them with someone else. So he had to hurry, very quickly, to come back and take them home.

As if thinking of something, Lu Huai's expression softened, but he felt a warm touch on his forehead.

Lu Huai looked up in surprise, only to see her eyes brimming with tears, yet she still smiled and said to him, "Lu Huai, you can't abandon me. This is a marriage bestowed by His Majesty, and I still have the imperial decree."

In a daze, Lu Huai seemed to see Qin Xi from back then.

"Young Master Lu, this is a marriage bestowed by His Majesty. You must have received the imperial decree. Do you have any way to make him take it back?"

She blinked and forced a smile, "Lu Huai, I'll wait for you to come and take us home."

It's not me, it's us, and the baby in my belly.

Lu Huai closed his eyes and remained silent. After a long while, Qin Xi heard him give a low "hmm." The voice was very deep, not like it came from his throat, but rather from his chest.

Lu Huai reached out a hand and touched her fair cheek, then lowered his head and accurately pressed his lips to those that he had tasted countless times.

She thought he would roughly take the air from her mouth, but he didn't. He simply traced the shape of her lips gently, like the warmest spring breeze caressing her face. He stepped back half a step, pressed his forehead against hers, and chuckled softly.

He said, "Qin Xi, you must wait for me to come and pick you up. If you don't take care of me, be careful I don't bring back a whole bunch of concubines for you."

"Miss Qin, I'm a spoiled brat. What's so good about marrying me? If you marry me, I'll only neglect you, and who knows, I might bring back a bunch of concubines in a few days!"

Qin Xi smiled too, and the two stood there, their breaths mingling, for a long time until dawn broke and daylight arrived.

A rooster seemed to crow in the distance. Qin Qi raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lips. "Second Young Master Lu, would you like to have breakfast together?"

Lu Huai raised his eyebrows as well, "It's an honor."

Time seemed to pass slowly, yet also swiftly. By the time the two finished their breakfast, the autumn sun had already risen into the sky.

Qin Xi and Lu Huai talked for a while, mostly Qin Xi talking and Lu Huai listening, occasionally responding with an "uh-huh". Qin Xi didn't find it annoying, but felt that the sun seemed to have secretly learned some kind of light-footed kung fu, rising very quickly today.

Qin Xi was getting thirsty, so she picked up her teacup and took a couple of sips of water. Then she heard someone calling her.

"Yizhi!"

Qin Xi looked up toward the source of the sound and saw that it was Shu Hua.

She seemed to have run there, without anyone by her side, carrying a bundle on her back, standing panting in front of her. She swallowed hard and said, "I'll go with you."

"What?" Qin Xi thought she had misheard and was a little confused.

“I said,” Shu Hua said, catching her breath, “I will go to the palace with you.”

Qin Xi was stunned. She turned to look at Lu Huai, only to see that he was also frowning, seemingly unaware of the situation.

"Just let her go." Shu Zhan walked in and sighed. "She's very stubborn. If she wants to go, let her go with you so you can look after each other."

Qin Xi stared at her for a long time, then suddenly smiled, "Zihui, thank you."

Shu Hua smiled slightly but didn't say anything.

Just then, someone else arrived at the courtyard gate. Qin Xi looked up, her expression instantly turning cold, and a mocking smile curled at the corners of her lips.
