Only the moon in the spring courtyard is truly sentimental, still shining on the fallen flowers for those who are parted.

...

...

"Your Majesty, the Eldest Princess has arrived." Wu Chang hurried to Emperor Yu Xian's side and reported with his head bowed.

Emperor Yuxian was holding a vermilion brush, drawing something on a piece of paper. Hearing his words, he didn't look up, but simply said, "Summon."

"Yes, Your Highness." Having received the order, Wuchang walked to the palace entrance. "Your Highness, His Majesty summons you in."

The person standing before her was Princess Zhaoyang. Upon hearing this, she nodded slightly, "Thank you for your trouble, Eunuch."

Wu Chang quickly waved his hand, "Your Highness is too kind to say such things. I was merely doing my duty."

Princess Zhaoyang said nothing more, but smiled and nodded at him before lifting her skirt and stepping into the magnificent hall.

"Zhaoyang greets Your Majesty."

Upon hearing her words, Emperor Yuxian put down his pen, reached out to help her up, and scolded, "Zhaoyang and I are becoming more and more estranged; she doesn't even call me 'Imperial Brother' anymore."

Princess Zhaoyang followed his words and said with a smile, "Zhaoyang would never want to be so formal with her imperial brother. Zhaoyang misses her imperial brother the most when she is away from home."

Emperor Yuxian raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You're not lying to me?"

"Look at what you're saying. Your Majesty is the supreme ruler. Even if I had a hundred and twenty times the courage, I wouldn't dare to deceive you." She said with a smile, turning around to take a purse from the maid and presenting it to Emperor Yuxian with both hands.

His gaze swept over the calligraphy and paintings on the table, paused for a moment, and then he said, "Your Majesty, this is a peace talisman that Zhaoyang obtained for you when he was at the royal temple. I hope Your Majesty will be in good health. I am but a mediocre person, so please do not look down on this mundane item."

Emperor Yuxian took the purse, ordered someone to offer Princess Zhaoyang a seat, and then carefully examined the purse from all angles.

"I've heard that the peace charms from temples are extremely rare, and they must arrive at dawn to be considered a sign of sincerity. Is Zhaoyang's one the same?"

Princess Zhaoyang opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, a palace maid standing behind her spoke first. If Qin Xi were here, she would definitely recognize that this palace maid was none other than Chi Cui, the one who had made things difficult for Bao Bao before.

"Your Majesty, you're only half right. This is more than that! This is His Highness..."

Princess Zhaoyang's expression hardened, and she sternly rebuked, "What right do you have to speak in front of His Majesty? If you don't speak, no one will think you're mute. Now shut up!"

Chi Cui trembled at her shout and hurriedly knelt down and kowtowed, "This servant knows her mistake, please forgive me, Your Majesty!"

"Oh?" Emperor Yuxian's gaze shifted from the purse to Chi Cui. "You just said that what I said was too simple?"

Princess Zhaoyang turned her head and glared fiercely at Chi Cui. Seeing the latter shrink back in fear, she turned her head and smiled at Emperor Yuxian, saying, "This maid was just talking nonsense, please don't be offended, Your Majesty."

Emperor Yuxian raised his hand, "Continue."

It refers to Chi Cui.

Princess Zhaoyang's eyes flickered, "This..."

"Don't speak, I'm asking her a question." Emperor Yuxian raised his hand to stop her, giving her a reproachful look. "What's there to hide? I just want to know."

Princess Zhaoyang opened her mouth, but then breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, "Then ask away, Your Majesty."

"Hmm." Emperor Yuxian nodded in satisfaction, looking at Chi Cui kneeling on the ground. "If you tell the truth, I will forgive you. But if you have lied in the slightest, do you know that is the crime of deceiving the emperor?"

Chi Cui was indeed terrified. She trembled and kowtowed repeatedly, pleading, "Your Majesty, spare my life! This servant will tell you the truth. Please spare my life!"
