Peach and plum blossoms joyfully welcome spring, magpies sing at dawn to celebrate the passing of tradition.

Lu Huai: "..." Still couldn't escape it, what to do? Waiting for an answer online, it's urgent!

Seeing his hesitant expression, Qin Qi suppressed a laugh, covered her mouth, and walked behind him.

Before long, they arrived at the deepest part of the dungeon, which could be called "Cell Number One in the Underground." Although their lives were hanging by a thread, they were served good food and drink and didn't have to do any work. Wasn't that wonderful?

The cell was lined with straw, making the already stuffy dungeon even hotter, so hot that even snakes and rats didn't want to stay there. In the corner sat a disheveled man, hugging his knees and remaining motionless.

She was petite and looked like a young girl.

Lu Huai raised his chin, signaling the guards to open the door. With a creak, the wooden door, now unlocked, made a jarring sound, startling the people in the corner.

She raised her head, brushed aside her hair, and her face was covered in grime, making her look almost like a madwoman. Yet, her delicate and pretty features and familiar eyes and brows clearly belonged to Bao Bao.

Her eyes had lost their former sparkle; just one day of imprisonment had left her looking quite haggard. Her clothes weren't stained with blood, but were rather dirty and disheveled, making her appear utterly wretched.

Upon seeing the newcomer, a hint of panic flashed in Bao Bao's eyes. She quickly lowered her head, her thick hair once again obscuring her face, as if she hadn't moved at all.

However, when the person in front of her called out her name, she almost burst into tears.

"Bao Bao," Qin Xi called softly.

Bao Bao covered her mouth, trying hard not to cry out. She shook her head and said, trying to deceive herself, "You've mistaken me for someone else."

"Bao Bao." Qin Xi called out again, her tone firm and strong, which made her heart tremble, and the tears that had been welling up in her eyes finally flowed out.

Qin Xi frowned as he looked at her slightly trembling shoulders. "Bao Bao, lift your head and look at me. I have something to say to you."

The little girl in the dark corner slowly raised her eyes, which were filled with shimmering tears, and sighed softly.

Her voice trembled as she said, "Miss."

Qin Xi nodded, "Don't cry, I just want to talk to you."

Seeing her like this, Lu Huai touched his nose and tactfully left the place for another cell, but did not take the guard with him. He probably left the guard there to protect her safety in case of any mishap.

Bao Bao cried and shook her head repeatedly, "Miss, I was wrong, I was really wrong."

Qin Xi pursed her lips. "You are indeed wrong. I had some doubts about you, but I never dared to believe that you really wanted to kill me."

"I didn't, miss, I didn't..." Bao Bao panicked, "I just... I just..."

“You simply sent me to the Fourth Prince’s villa. You knew full well that this journey was dangerous, and that I might even lose my chastity, yet you still did it.”

Qin Xi shook her head. "You said you didn't want me to die, but how important is a woman's chastity? Without chastity, what difference is there between death and life? She's nothing more than a walking corpse."

“Miss…I was wrong…” Bao Bao covered her mouth and shook her head, leaning against the wall, shaking her head repeatedly. “I just…I just wanted to save Li Lang’s life. I’m willing to do anything as long as he lives.”

Seeing her crazed expression, Qin Xi felt as if she had been doused with cold water, her heart turning completely cold.

She sneered and stood up. "Willing to do anything? Even ruin my reputation? What a fine 'willing to do anything'! What a deep and abiding affection!"

His face was filled with tears, and he couldn't say a word.
