The main gate of the Prime Minister's residence.
Lu Huai had been standing there for about half a cup of tea's time before he started to doze off. It wasn't his fault; it was all his father's fault for waking him up so early to greet the guests.
Seeing Lu Huai swaying precariously, the servant beside him approached him and whispered a reminder: "Young Master, the Young Mistress is out."
Upon hearing this, Lu Huai forced himself to open his eyes and looked towards the door.
Prime Minister Qin slowly put Qin Qi down and said to her, "Yizhi, if you've been wronged, tell your father, and I'll take care of that brat for you." Prime Minister Qin wiped his eyes again and then glanced at Lu Huai.
Lu Huai noticed that Prime Minister Qin's eyes were slightly red. He awkwardly touched his nose, coughed twice, and looked away.
"Don't worry, Father, I'll take good care of myself," Qin Xi said.
Prime Minister Qin sighed and nodded. Although he had received a positive answer, he was still worried, after all, she was his daughter whom he had loved for so many years.
Then he looked at Lu Huai and said, "Hey kid, come here right now."
Seeing him approach, Prime Minister Qin took the red silk from the matchmaker's hand and gave one side to each of them, warning Lu Huai: "If you treat Yizhi badly in the slightest, I will risk my old life to settle accounts with you."
"Yes, yes, you're absolutely right," Lu Huai nodded helplessly, all he wanted was to go back to sleep as soon as possible.
Upon seeing this, Prime Minister Qin released his grip and handed Qin Qi over to Lu Huai.
Strangely enough, just a moment ago Lu Huai was quite drowsy, but now he suddenly felt energetic. He had an indescribable feeling, and only one thought occupied his mind—
The person beside him is his wife.
Before getting into the sedan chair, Shu Hua handed Qin Xi an apple and told her to hold it, as a symbol of peace and good fortune.

The Ministry of Personnel.
Upon seeing the wedding procession return, Minister Lu immediately instructed everyone around him to be on high alert.
"Groom, please kick the sedan chair door!" the matchmaker shouted.
Lu Huai dismounted, walked to the bridal sedan chair, and kicked the door hard. To his surprise, the sedan chair barely moved, while Lu Huai nearly tripped and fell.
Seeing this, Minister Lu flicked his sleeves in exasperation.
The matchmaker dared not delay and quickly said, "Please have the groom bring the bride out!"
Lu Huai lifted the sedan curtain and reached out his hand to Qin Xi.
Qin Qi vaguely saw Lu Huai extend his hand, hesitated for a moment, and then slowly placed his hand on it.
As they entered the gate, Lu Huai held her as she sat on the saddle of a horse, symbolizing a lifetime of peace and safety.
Next, they entered the hall. They had to step over a brazier, symbolizing a prosperous and thriving future. Because her face was completely covered by a veil, Qin Qi hesitated.
Seeing this, Lu Huai immediately took her hand and said, almost as if possessed, "Don't be afraid."
These two simple words seemed to give Qin Xi immense courage, and she stepped over them.
Minister Lu, who witnessed the whole process, was very pleased and stroked his beard with a smile.

After the wedding ceremony, Qin Xi was led to the bridal chamber, and Lu Huai disappeared without a trace.
She waited for a while and, finding no movement, tentatively lifted the veil from her head.
It was already evening. Qin Xi didn't care about being a refined young lady anymore; all she knew was that she hadn't eaten all day. So she wiped the apple in her hand and started eating it directly.
After finishing an apple, Qin Qi felt a little unsatisfied. So she wandered around the room, sat on the bed, and felt something poking her bottom.
