Sima's true intentions are known only to passersby; he remains silent, yet laughs foolishly. (shuhaige.net)

Seeing Shu Hua snort again, Qin Qi couldn't help but smile, revealing two small dimples.

Although Shu Hua argued with him, the group eventually went to Yu Xian Zhai to enjoy a meal.

Yuxianzhai is the largest restaurant in the capital, renowned for its chefs' superb culinary skills. Previously, Young Master Lu and Young Master Shu were both regulars here.

"Hiccup," Young Master Shu rubbed his stomach and let out a hiccup.

Looking at the mess in front of him, Qin Xi realized that the four of them had actually eaten a whole table of food.

Lu Huai took out some silver, paid her, and took her hand: "Let's go."

Just as I was about to get up, I heard a woman's voice—

"Yizhi?"

Qin Xi turned her head and saw that it was Princess Shanlai.

Upon seeing it was her, Princess Shanlai's uncertainty turned into a smile, but she couldn't help coughing twice: "Cough, cough cough..."

As Shu Zhan and Shu Hua were about to bow, she raised her hand, indicating that they should rise.

Qin Xi walked to her side, pulled her cloak tighter, and frowned: "Why didn't Shan Lai wear a couple more thick clothes?"

After coughing, Princess Shanlai wiped her mouth with a handkerchief before saying, "It's not too cold today, so I came out to walk in the snow."

creak—

The door to the private room behind her closed quickly before it could be opened, and Qin Xi only had time to feel a gust of wind pass by.

She pointed to the doorway with some confusion: "Is there someone inside...?"

Princess Shanlai hesitated, looking somewhat embarrassed.

The maid behind her stepped forward and said with a smile, "He's just a guard brought from the manor. He's rather clumsy, please forgive him, Madam."

Seeing her say that, Qin Xi didn't ask any more questions. Feeling her hand being held, she pursed her lips.

It's unclear when it started, but Lu Huai has become quite fond of holding her hand. Whether they're in the mansion or out, whenever he can hold her hand, it's always there.

Lu Huai glanced at the tightly closed door, moved his hand, and intertwined his fingers with Qin Qi's: "In that case, we'll take our leave now."

Princess Shanlai nodded: "You may go ahead, I will return slowly. Please come visit my residence when you have time."

Qin Xi nodded, and the group parted ways.

After they left, Princess Shanlai opened the door, letting the people inside hold her tightly in their arms, a satisfied smile on her lips.

-

That night, at the Prime Minister's residence, in the Qihuai Courtyard.

Lu Huai sat on the rooftop with a wine glass in his hand. He lifted a tile in front of him, revealing Qin Qi's peaceful sleeping face underneath.

He tilted his head back and drank the liquid in the cup in one gulp: "Ayu, pour some more."

Ayu, standing beside him, poured him a full cup of tea from a teapot, looking at him speechlessly: "Young Master, you're drinking tea from a wine cup, can you really taste the aroma of wine?"

"Who made him swear to the young mistress to give up drinking?"

Suddenly, Su Ying's voice came from the treetop behind him, startling A Yu. Turning around, he saw Su Ying holding his sword and looking at him expressionlessly.

Ayu said fiercely, "Can you please stop appearing out of nowhere all the time!"

Lu Huai glanced at him and kicked him, saying, "Keep your voice down, don't disturb people's sleep."

Ayu lost his footing and was nearly kicked off. He swayed for a while before managing to stand up.

He muttered under his breath, "What do you mean by 'don't disturb people's sleep'? You're clearly just afraid of disturbing the young mistress, but you won't sit any further away..."

Lu Huai glared at him, almost throwing a teacup at him: "Stop talking nonsense and quickly pour me some tea."

Ayu pursed her lips but still poured him some tea.
