It seems that this is a common problem among pregnant women, which is quite normal.
Qin Qi felt her eyelids growing heavier and heavier. In her drowsy state, she seemed to hear the person beside her whisper something, but she couldn't quite make it out. Feeling a gentle movement on her stomach, she subconsciously curved her lips into a smile before gradually drifting off to sleep.
Lu Huai noticed that her breathing was gradually calming down, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He muttered to himself, "Give this to Dad to play with, and he will never have another child next time."
The next day, before Qin Xi even opened her eyes, she heard a commotion in the courtyard, and she frowned uncomfortably.
The door was gently opened, and the familiar scent of green willow wafted in. Qin Qi moved her fingers and finally opened her eyes.
The first thing she saw was Lu Huai sitting beside her. He tidied her hair and said apologetically, "Did I wake you up?"
Qin Xi shook her head. "What happened?"
Lu Huai looked at her with a smile, "It's Shu Zihui who's back. She's looking for you."
Qin Xi was taken aback. Zi Hui... is back?
She was overjoyed and immediately tried to get up, but Lu Huai quickly helped her up, saying, "Be careful, you're several months pregnant, aren't you afraid of bumping into something?"
He gave her a reproachful look, and Qin Qi smiled slightly, a little embarrassed, and said, "Let Lele help me wash up."
After washing up, half an incense stick had burned. Qin Xi hadn't seen Shu Hua for a long time and missed her dearly, but under Lu Huai's watchful gaze, she had no choice but to finish a bowl of nourishing soup before leaving the house.
Whether the little rascal in her belly listened to Lu Huai's words or not, it really didn't make a fuss.
When Qin Xi saw Shu Hua, she was standing in the courtyard with her back to her. The familiar figure made Qin Xi's eyes well up with tears.
“Zihui…” Her nose was red, as if she had suffered a great injustice.
This is the scene that greeted Shu Hua when she turned around. Her best friend, heavily pregnant, was all alone and could only stare at her with a pitiful expression.
Shu Hua was startled and quickly ran over to support her. "Yizhi, did Lu Changjue bully you?"
Qin Xi shook her head, laughing and crying at the same time, "No, he's very good to me, it's just that I miss you a little."
Shu Hua sighed, "That's good, sit down and let's talk."
Women are always more careful. Shu Hua was worried that she would get cold, so she asked someone to bring a soft cushion and place it on the stone bench before letting Qin Qi sit down. The latter smiled gratefully.
"I can't believe it's happening so soon, you're going to be a mother." Shu Hua looked at her belly, curiously reaching out to gently touch it, her eyes filled with a hint of envy.
Qin Xi joked, "You're going to be a godmother too."
Shu Hua gave her a reproachful look, surprised that she still remembered. It was a promise they made when they were children: to accompany each other to her wedding and to be the godmother of each other's children.
"And you?" Qin Qi held her hand affectionately. "How have you been? How has Shangguan Jingci treated you?"
Shu Hua paused, her throat tightened, and she looked away somewhat awkwardly. "Yes, very good, all very good."
After all, they had been friends for many years. How could Qin Xi not see that she was hiding something from her? However, since she was unwilling to talk about it, she didn't need to reopen old wounds. She simply changed the subject naturally.
"Have you returned to Shuji yet? Your uncle and aunt miss you very much."
Shu Hua nodded. "I've been there. I heard you were pregnant, so I brought some tonics to visit you, as well as my godson."
Qin Qi couldn't help but chuckle, "You're never serious."
The two chatted as if they were young, as if the objects and people were still there.
