"Sister Qi...?" He patted his head, looking somewhat confused.
Qin Xi closed her eyes in despair, bloodstains faintly visible on her lips, but she didn't utter a sound.
The fourth prince was stunned for a moment when he saw her like this, then suddenly laughed, "So today is our wedding night. No wonder it's so red."
The fourth prince's eyes would be clear one moment, and he would ramble on the next, clearly out of his mind. Yet his hands did not stop moving.
"Don't be afraid, Brother Qi Yu will be gentle." He seemed to have thought of something, a slight smile appearing on his lips. "Let's not mention people we don't want to be involved with anymore, okay?"
Qin Qi only regretted not biting her tongue sooner! Now she was completely unable to move or even speak, and she was afraid that she was... going to be ruined.
Lu Huai...where are you...?
The fourth prince gently peeled off her inner garment, revealing her delicate red bodice. His hot hands lingered on Qin Qi's neck, yet inexplicably brought her a sense of coolness.
"Hmm..." She didn't know what to do, so she just frowned uncomfortably and let out a soft moan.
Hearing her sweet voice, the Fourth Prince trembled, unable to resist lowering his head to inhale the girl's fragrance, before burying his head in her collarbone and gently touching it...
"Bang—"
A loud noise came from the doorway. The fourth prince turned around abruptly, but before he could see what was happening, he was punched in the face.
He had never practiced martial arts, while his opponent was clearly a trained fighter. Punch after punch landed squarely on his most painful spots.
He was so dizzy from the beating that his breathing became labored.
Lu Huai vented his anger on him through gritted teeth, his eyes bloodshot beneath his bamboo hat, making him unrecognizable to anyone who saw him as the handsome young man he once was.
He had never hated anyone so much, nor had he ever wanted to kill him so much. God knows how much the scene he saw when he kicked open the door made him want to kill the Fourth Prince!
The anger in his mind only intensified, and Lu Huai punched him again and again, wishing he could beat him to death.
Shu Zhan stood behind him, not daring to look at Qin Qi on the bed, and could only keep his eyes on Lu Huai. Seeing that the Fourth Prince was on the verge of death, he quickly stepped forward and pulled Lu Huai away, "Stop hitting him! He can't die yet!"
Lu Huai's eyes were bloodshot, and his hands were already a little weak, but he still gritted his teeth and said, "I'm going to kill him!"
"Alright, alright, kill her if you want." Shu Zhan had no choice but to go along with him. "But you should also check on Qin Xi first. She doesn't seem to be in good condition."
As soon as I entered, I smelled an extremely strong scent of muscle relaxant powder; I'm afraid Qin Xi has been poisoned.
Upon hearing his words, Lu Huai paused, finally snapping out of his rage.
"Qin Xi... yes... Qin Xi..." He stood up, but suddenly his legs went weak and he almost fell to the ground. Fortunately, Shu Zhan caught him in time.
Lu Huai rushed to the bedside and, upon seeing Qin Xi's appearance, his eyes immediately welled up with tears, despite being a grown man.
He took the silk handkerchief from Qin Qi's mouth and put it in his pocket; it was still stained with blood.
Lu Huai quickly buttoned up her clothes and rolled up a thin blanket to cover her. "Qin Xi? Qin Xi, I'm here."
Qin Qi was hot. Smelling the familiar scent of green willow, she instinctively snuggled closer to him. She weakly opened her eyes, managing a feeble smile on her blood-stained lips, "Lu Huai... I knew you'd come looking for me..."
Lu Huai quickly hugged her, "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. I've come to find you, I'll take you home."
He squeezed his eyes shut, suppressing the emotions churning within them. When he opened them again, only clarity and understanding remained.
