Lu Huai calmly withdrew his hand: "Just cover it."
"Bang--"
Before he could respond, another loud bang rang out, and Qin Xi looked toward the source of the sound.
It turned out that someone was setting off fireworks on the other side of the river.
"Bang--"
Qin Xi covered her ears and looked up at the sky.
Fireworks of vibrant colors bloom and disappear in the sky, like fleeting ephemeral flowers, beautiful yet fleeting.
"Bang--"
"Qin Xi".
Qin Qi vaguely heard Lu Huai calling her. She turned her head and saw him move his lips, but she couldn't hear what he said.
"What?" she shouted, covering her ears.
The light from the fireworks reflected in Qin Xi's eyes was as bright as if it were filled with many fireflies.
Lu Huai took her hand and placed it on his heart, then looked deeply into her eyes. His eyes reflected her image, and he moved his lips again, raising his voice to clearly enunciate, "I love you."
Feeling the warmth of his hand, Qin Xi froze, her ears ringing as if countless tiny fireworks were exploding in her mind.
Lu Huai remained in that position and shouted loudly, "Lu Huai, I love Qin Xi—"
Before Qin Xi could react, he lowered his head and captured the lips he had longed for.
"Bang--"
Qin Xi's mind completely exploded, and her face was burning hot.

The Ministry of Rites, Qihuai Academy.
Qin Xi covered her head and hid under the covers, refusing to come out no matter how much Lele and Bao Bao tried to persuade her.
"Miss, what's wrong with you?" Lele asked anxiously, her brows furrowed.
Qin Xi, buried under the covers, said softly, "I'm fine."
"Miss's face was flushed when she came back. Could she have caught a cold?" Bao Bao said worriedly.
Qin Xi: "...I'm fine."
Meanwhile, in a corner of the Minister's residence, several people were whispering among themselves while holding a Kongming lantern they had somehow managed to retrieve.
"Young master, this is the Kongming lantern that the young mistress released."
The man addressed as "Young Master" accepted the Kongming lantern with feigned seriousness. The light illuminated his face, revealing him to be none other than Lu Huai.
"What does 'not betraying today's young man' mean?" Lu Huai frowned as he looked at A Yu, completely puzzled.
Ayu shook his head blankly, indicating that he didn't know.
Standing in the shadows, holding his sword, Su Ying said expressionlessly, "Master, that word is pronounced 'fu'."
Lu Huai blushed and coughed awkwardly, "I was just testing whether you two knew anything." Then, he glared at A Yu and said fiercely, "Illiterate!"
Ayu: "..." Innocent.JPG
Having eased his embarrassment, Lu Huai pondered the words carefully, finding them lingering on his tongue and in his mind, impossible to shake off.
The lamplight shines softly beside a beautiful woman; let us, young men, live up to the promise of today.

When Lu Huai returned, Qin Qi was still covered by the blanket. Hearing the approaching footsteps, she felt inexplicably flustered.
Feeling the blanket being tugged, Qin Xi subconsciously gripped the corner of the blanket tightly in her hands.
The fire in the stove was burning brightly inside, and a wave of warmth wafted over, making it impossible to feel that the cold of winter had arrived.
"Aren't you hot like this?" Lu Huai asked.
Qin Xi pursed her lips and remained silent.
“Stick your head out,” he said, his tone leaving no room for doubt.
She pouted and slowly poked her head out like a little turtle.
Lu Huai looked at her, his eyes full of amusement: "You've finally decided to come out?"
Qin Xi then looked up at him, and said with a wronged expression, "It's hot."
Hearing her sweet, soft voice, Lu Huai felt his heart melt completely. His gaze fell on her forehead, and he noticed a few beads of sweat on her forehead. A pang of tenderness welled up in his eyes, but he couldn't help but chuckle softly.
