The old scenes are hard to forget, like a deer carrying my longing.

It was eerily quiet outside. In the stillness of the night, the bird's call sounded extremely abrupt, as if it were a warning.

Lu Huai's ears twitched slightly, and he sat up. He gently pulled his arm out, covered Qin Qi with the quilt, replaced the sandalwood incense burning in the room with calming incense, put on his coat, and went out of the room.

Ayu appeared at the right moment and clasped his hands in greeting: "Young Master, an enemy has invaded."

Lu Huai curled his lips: "Kill."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than several men in black appeared out of nowhere, all wearing black masks and carrying silver knives.

At a glance, there were about twenty of them.

Seeing the assassin finally reveal himself from the shadows, Lu Huai licked his lips and asked the leader of the men in black, "Who goes there? Would you like a cup of tea?"

Martial arts practitioners have hearing abilities beyond those of ordinary people, so even though he didn't speak very loudly, the man in black could still hear him.

The man in black had no intention of saying much to him. Adhering to the principle that "villains die from talking too much," he attacked Lu Huai directly, his eyes filled with contempt.

Lu Huai raised an eyebrow. Did this little assassin look down on him?

Without a moment's hesitation, the broadsword hurtled straight at Lu Huai's face. A Yu and Su Ying were engaged in combat with the other men in black when they saw this. A Yu whispered, "Young Master, be careful!"

Lu Huai dodged to the side, causing the man in black's broadsword to miss its mark, but instead revealing an opening. Stepping forward and turning around, Lu Huai drew the scabbard from the man's waist and easily struck the man's head, which was covered by a black cloth.

It appears nonchalant, but it is actually full of power.

But the man in black didn't even flinch, as if he felt no pain, and turned around to continue heading straight for him.

Seeing the broadsword coming down, Lu Huai quickly placed the scabbard in his hand horizontally to block it in front of his eyes.

A flicker of doubt crossed the man in black's eyes, and he secretly increased his strength. Lu Huai was not to be outdone, and the two were locked in a stalemate. He wanted to attack from the left and right, but the man in black was extremely vigilant and gave him no chance whatsoever.

Seeing the growing murderous intent in his eyes, Lu Huai slowly withdrew his strength, deliberately revealing a flaw.

Sensing his growing weakness, the man in black felt a surge of joy, his eyes filled with even more contempt. A spoiled brat is a spoiled brat; even if he knows a few rudimentary martial arts moves, he's still a good-for-nothing.

Thinking this, he exerted a sudden force, and the blade was only a hair's breadth away from Lu Huai.

Seeing that he had taken the bait, Lu Huai seized the opportunity, sweeping his leg and knocking him to the ground. Taking advantage of his momentary lapse in attention, he snatched the blade from his hand and plunged it downwards with tremendous force—

Blood splattered on the spot.

The man in black stared wide-eyed at the man who had ended his life, seemingly unable to believe that he had been defeated by a spoiled brat whom no one respected.

He couldn't understand until his death how a man who could take the enemy general's head in three moves could be a piece of trash that everyone in the capital despised.

With his last ounce of strength, he pointed at Lu Huai: "You..."

Lu Huai licked his lips, not even blinking. He drew his broadsword, and blood gushed forth. The leader of the men in black finally breathed his last, his eyes never closing in peace.

Out of the corner of his eye, Lu Huai noticed that Ayu was gradually losing his strength, and shouted, "Su Yi!"

A shadowy figure suddenly appeared and knelt on one knee: "Master."

He tossed him the blood-stained broadsword: "Go help them."

Su Yi caught it steadily: "Yes." He then joined the battle, and A Yu and Su Ying's combat power increased significantly.

Before long, all the men in black were captured. Su Ying dislocated their jaws, revealing poison hidden in their teeth: "Master, thirteen are dead, eight remain."

Lu Huai's white robe was already half-stained with blood, the red marks vividly visible. He walked to the remaining men in black and half-squatted down:
