What were once jokes about what would happen after death have now come to pass.

"Good horse, does it have a name?"

"This..." Butler Lu glanced at the horse with difficulty, then said, "Young Madam, please allow me a moment to speak."

"Hmm?" I'm just asking for a name, why do I have to say it so secretly?

Qin Qi was puzzled, but still followed Butler Lu to the wall. Butler Lu covered his mouth with his hand and whispered, "You must not say the horse's name in front of it, or it will get angry."

Qin Qi nodded: "So what is it called?"

"This horse neighs...neighs..." Butler Lu looked rather troubled. After hesitating for a moment, he gritted his teeth and said, "Call it Er Gou."

Qin Xi: "..." Petrified.JPG

How could a horse have such a name? She was somewhat incredulous: "...Could it be that Lu Huai named it?"

Butler Lu glanced at her with surprise, seemingly pleased that she knew Lu Huai well.

Qin Qi twitched the corner of her mouth. Aside from Lu Huai, probably no one else would have chosen such a name. But this horse could understand speech; it must be extremely intelligent.

She thought about it and said it.

Butler Lu nodded in agreement: "That's right. Er Gou used to be a wild horse, but somehow he's become docile ever since he changed his name."

Qin Qi sighed, realizing it must have been due to Lu Huai's coercion. However, she couldn't say that, so she just nodded and said with difficulty, "It must be because... a lowly name is easier to raise."

Butler Lu nodded in agreement.

Qin Xi smirked, walked over to Er Gou, and stroked its mane: "Would you like to change your name?"

Er Gou, who was idly kicking his hooves, immediately raised his head and let out a long howl.

"What a fine horse!" Qin Qi's eyes lit up slightly, and he didn't hold back his praise. Then he leaned closer and chattered on, "The person who named you this was Lu Huai. You must remember him. Now I'll change it for you. How about Junliang?"

Er Gou let out another long howl, seemingly in agreement with her words.

"Then it's settled, let's go!" Qin Qi mounted her horse, her originally gentle features now showing a hint of heroism.

Thankfully, Lu Huai had made her this very conservative dress. Although she didn't know his intentions, at least she didn't have to worry about being spied on.

Watching her ride away in a cloud of dust, Butler Lu stood at the door and sighed.

...

In a private teahouse room, someone lowered their eyes and unconsciously tightened their grip on their teacup: "You see... I told you she had somewhere to go, I didn't expect she could even ride a horse..."

Sensing his dejection, Ayu, standing behind him, paused, unsure of where to begin.

Lu Huai pouted somewhat defiantly, raised his teacup, drank it all in one gulp, and then slammed it down on the table. He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them again, he had regained his usual composure.

Lu Huai took a deep breath and said, "Enter the palace."

Ayu quickly cupped his hands and bowed respectfully, saying, "Yes."

...

...

"Whoa—" Qin Xi pulled on the reins and brought the horse to a steady stop at the palace gate. After handing Junliang over to the palace servant in charge of watching the horse, she prepared to enter the palace.

"Please wait, sir." The eunuch in charge at the palace gate stopped the person in front of him, then bowed respectfully: "Please let this servant see your invitation."

The man took out a gold-embossed invitation from his pocket and handed it to the consul eunuch. The eunuch glanced at it and then stepped aside, saying, "So you are the son of Lord Liu. Please come in."

Young Master Liu nodded slightly and stepped inside. The eunuch in charge then looked at Qin Qi, seemingly gesturing to her.

Qin Xi froze, only then remembering something very important—she didn't have an invitation!
