Chapter 46 I'll take you home.
The head rolled to the ground, but not a drop of blood was dripped. The cut was stained with dirt, but the expression on the head remained unchanged.
Everything happened too fast.
Meng Chiwan stood there stunned, and it wasn't until the head rolled twice that she finally came to her senses.
The head on the ground was none other than her mother, who had just been luring her over to eat meat!
The next second, a faint line appeared on Meng Chiwan's neck.
Too fine and too fast.
By the time Meng Chiwan truly realized it, a few drops of blood had already grown from her neck to her collarbone.
She reached out and touched it, and then her fingertips were grasped.
Yun Xianqing grasped her fingertips, then gazed intently at her collarbone.
Meng Chiwan followed his gaze and looked over. At first glance, she saw nothing, but when she looked closely a second time, she noticed a thin, silken line on her collarbone.
The wound on her neck seemed like a warning. It could have easily taken her life, yet it left only a faint, painless scar.
Yun Xianqing's expression grew even colder. Her eyes fixed on a certain spot, then she reached out and gently touched the silk thread. Fresh blood clung to the thread, mingling with Meng Chiwan's blood that was already on it.
His eyes were filled with extreme indifference, and Meng Chiwan could sense the shift in his emotions almost instantly.
But what was even more remarkable was that the silk thread softened the moment it touched Yun Xianqing's blood, and then floated to the ground.
Then, he reached out as if to touch her wound, but stopped, as if afraid of hurting her.
"I'm fine," Meng Chiwan said softly.
Yun Xianqing looked at her and suddenly remembered how disgusted she had been just now, with her eyes red and swollen.
She was clearly in so much pain, but she couldn't bear to say a harsh word to him. She just wanted to ask him why, nothing more. Now that he hadn't protected her and had hurt her, her first thought was to comfort him.
Looking into her clear eyes, he suddenly felt a little breathless.
Why treat her like that?
His slowly recovering memories after entering the secret realm clearly told him what he should do and that he shouldn't be misled by her.
He didn't like her at all, and he shouldn't like her. He kept telling himself this, trying to convince himself.
No matter how he told himself, he couldn't explain why he trembled involuntarily when he saw her injured, and why he felt terrified.
If she were to die here and be gone forever...
He would start to tremble and feel a sharp pain in his heart just thinking about it.
Besides, according to his plan, he wanted to do it himself...
He had to admit that he was afraid she wouldn't like him, afraid she would leave, and even more afraid she would die.
Just thinking about such a vibrant girl...
His face was pale, and as he looked at Meng Chiwan, his eyes inexplicably began to redden.
Unlike his previous self-inflicted injury tricks, this time he truly felt the pain.
Chi Wan. It hurts so much.
But then he remembered those sorrowful days and nights, in that dark world, only his dark eyes still held a glimmer of light.
But... later, I met Chi Wan.
Why can't I stay with Chi Wan forever?
Why must we return to that cold, unfeeling world?
"Xihe, what's wrong?" Meng Chiwan asked him anxiously.
The scene before her was clearly fraught with danger. Yet, she couldn't ignore Yun Xianqing's strange behavior and immediately asked her what was wrong.
Yun Xianqing held her hand, and a tear fell unconsciously from his eye. Then, he said softly, "Chi Wan, let's not climb the tower anymore, okay? Let's go home. I'll take you home."
Author's note: This chapter touches on Yun Xianqing's feelings. Actually, it would be great if she could really go home.
This chapter will be shorter for some reasons, sorry everyone.
